Choosing La Baguette Bakery involves recognizing its strengths as a dedicated local business in the Chicago area that caters to modern needs while striving for high-quality production. It is a place highly recommended by many local patrons who describe it as a "hidden gem" where pastries are "super fresh" and cakes are visually stunning, looking "like something out of a magazine." Specifically, the soft, rich, and well-balanced flavor of items like their chocolate-covered conchas and their noted strawberry desserts are a significant draw for anyone in Illinois with a sweet tooth. The appealing atmosphere and kind staff also contribute to a pleasant overall experience.
However, a factual presentation requires acknowledging all customer feedback. While many praise the quality and flavor, one review highlights a critical issue involving a mix-up on a large custom cake order (chocolate and vanilla provided instead of the requested tres leches) which resulted in a serious allergy concern. This instance suggests that customers placing specific custom orders, particularly those involving allergies or strict recipe requirements, should exercise extra diligence when ordering and especially upon pickup. It is advisable for patrons to clearly reiterate all requirements when ordering and to visually confirm the details of their cake or specialty item before leaving the premises, ensuring the order matches the receipt precisely.
Despite this isolated critical report regarding a complex custom order, the overall data points towards a reliable source for daily, fresh baked goods, quick service, and accessibility. The availability of a free parking lot, quick visit options, and full wheelchair accessibility are tangible benefits that enhance the experience for all Illinois patrons. For those seeking high-quality, freshly baked items for immediate consumption or a last-minute gathering, La Baguette Bakery remains a strong contender in the Chicago 60623 area, offering the convenience of a restaurant alongside the warmth of a traditional neighborhood bakery. The commitment to freshness and the dual service model make it a worthwhile local business to support.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1La Baguette Bakery is a hidden gem in Little Village. Every time I stop by, the pastries are super fresh and the cakes look like something out of a magazine. I tried one of their chocolate-covered conchas and it was amazing—soft, rich, and not too sweet. Their strawberry desserts are also fire. The place smells so good when you walk in, and the staff is always nice and patient, even when it gets busy. If you’ve got a sweet tooth, this place won’t disappoint. Totally worth the visit.
June 28 · J.C. ChavezThis has been our go to place for tres leches cake.My father ordered one for my husband’s birthday and when we cut into it, it was chocolate and vanilla and my husband is allergic to chocolate. How do they mess up such a large cake?!Won’t be recommending this place anymore.People always look forward to cake at parties so I would think twice before ordering from here.My father picked it up and had his receipt. He asked them if it was tres leches since he did not see the cake on a tray/pan and they said yes but we found out until it was cake cutting time.
June 09 · Fany DominguezIt's like you order food and you tell him what you want and they don't hear you. It's ridiculous And the bakery is overpriced and it's a shame that they don't take link. In Illinois 2 million people have link, so it's a shame that they don't want us in their bakery! It's like they're saying people with link don't deserve their pastries. Right now with all the prices that are high and the rents for apartments are even higher, I can't afford to use cash to go to their bakery. But there is other bakeries on 26th Street. Check them out and they take the Link card because above all 26th Street is a beautiful place to visit.
August 06 · Rose PardoThis place has changed. The pan dulce we got were all super dry and tasted different (stale?) than what I remember. Not the worst, but considering the prices they charge, its disappointing. Even worse is the customer service, I asked politely for help on what a pan was filled with since they had none of the little signs that label the pan out on display and the lady acted like I asked her to climb a mountain. We were not greeted and received an attitude in regards to a very basic customer service skill. Not returning again, there are SO many amazing bakeries that provide excellent customer service.
May 08 · Marlee SilvaI bought 2 custom cakes in about a 3 week span there and both came out beautiful.
