La Brioche Bakery prides itself on offering authentic French baked goods with a focus on quality and traditional methods. While their selection may not be as extensive as larger, more modern bakeries, what they offer is crafted with expertise and care. Here's a look at their primary services:
Artisan Breads: The core of their offering is freshly baked, real French bread. Customers highly recommend stopping in for a loaf or a baguette. These are made in small batches daily, ensuring freshness.
Authentic Baguettes: A particular highlight is their authentic French baguettes, praised for their proper crust and crumb, a stark contrast to mass-produced alternatives.
Limited Selection of Pastries: While their focus is on bread, they do offer a limited selection of "sugary pastries" and cakes. Customers have been "very pleased with La Brioche cakes and pastries," indicating their quality, even if the variety isn't vast. This might include items like croissants, although not explicitly mentioned in the reviews.
Small-Batch Baking: The bakery appears to make small batches of loaves for the day, which suggests a commitment to freshness and avoids waste. This means that popular items might sell out, making early visits or calling ahead advisable.
Made Daily or Made to Order: Their official description indicates they offer fresh bread, pastries, and desserts made daily or made to order, suggesting flexibility for special requests.
The emphasis here is on authentic, high-quality French staples that truly showcase the baker's skill, rather than a wide array of trendy or mass-produced items.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Generations ago the local baker was an integral part of every community. Households would go get fresh bread for the day or the week, the local brewer would go to the baker for his yeast, the baker was one of the most important people in any community. Nowadays we buy mass produced bread with 25 ingredients that has almost no flavor, no crust, no crumb, was made entirely by a machine with no care at all, and it magically lasts 7-10 days. This is not some modern bakery with large amounts of sugary pastry’s (although they did have a limited selection if that’s what you’re looking for). This is an old school French bakery that appears to be family owned where you walk in and get a delicious loaf to eat for the next 2-3 days.Highly recommended stopping in and picking up a loaf or baguette. He did not have many loaves on display so I can only assume he makes small batches for the day. This business and the owners deserve a lot more customers but I think so many of us grew up on wonder bread and processed junk we don’t even know what real bread is or its significance in human history. We’re better off getting our bread locally with no preservatives than buying the stuff at the supermarket that has 25 ingredients and no flavor or texture.Go check this place out, don’t expect a modern bakery, expect a real loaf or baguette of French bread for a fair price and support a local business owned by real people in our community. You won’t be disappointed when you cut a slice and put some butter on it or dip it in olive oil (or just rip off a piece and eat it plain like we did)
May 10 · Brooke EllisThis is the best French bakery in Connecticut! Everything is authentic French yet home-style. The owners are very nice people, and it is always a great pleasure to come to this place. Everything is delicious there. If you are driving from some distance, call ahead to see if they are open or not. This is a small family owned establishment. I always was very pleased with La Brioche cakes and pastries.
April 17 · A.S. TotoroI had a sweet experience at La Brioche Bakery. Even though I've never been to France, I felt like I had been there since I opened their doors. The owner was listening to classic French songs and was so lovely! Their pastries and baguette were so delicious. I can't wait to go back again :)
October 20 · Luciana GranstrandI really wanted to love this place, but was very disappointed in the plain croissants. Not only were they slightly burnt, but were hard on the INSIDE. I asked the shopkeeper if they were baked today and he said yes. When I told them they were hard his response was that it was because they don’t use preservatives. We also bought a baguette which was delicious. If in the area I would buy that again, but not the croissants, especially if they looked the way they did today.
December 29 · Susan CThis French bakery makes authentic French bread and pastry! I've been to Paul the French bakery and it cannot be compared to this bakery, including the prices; it's also nothing like Big Y or Stop & Shop. They are true to their art of making authentic french bread and pastry for all to enjoy. The owner is very warm and kind and the gentleman who works there too. It's a great little place! It's worth the drive from Boston.
