La Central Bakery Introduce
Nestled in the heart of La Habra, California, **La Central Bakery** represents a quintessential local business that has quickly earned a devoted following among Orange County residents. While the name suggests a focus purely on baked goods, this hidden gem is celebrated for its incredible dual identity, mastering both traditional bakery items and, perhaps unexpectedly, some of the most delicious, well-regarded tamales in the region. For local users in California seeking authentic flavors and freshly prepared goods, La Central Bakery offers an experience defined by quality, value, and taste.
This is a place where quality overrides size; customers consistently rave about the fantastic food and the genuinely warm service provided by the staff, who are noted for being nice and speaking English, ensuring a smooth ordering process for everyone. The establishment’s commitment to high-quality, flavorful food—particularly the famously "moist" and "delicious" tamales—has made it a "favorite tamale spot" for many in the area. From simple, incredibly well-priced items like the bolillo bread to the surprisingly rich, filled churros, La Central Bakery is an essential culinary stop for anyone passing through or living in La Habra. It’s a dedicated **Bakery** that perfectly blends tradition with California convenience.

Customers are encouraged to be aware of how crowded the windows look before entering, as the customer standing area inside is limited, comfortably accommodating only about three adults while maintaining distance. While its physical space may be small, its reputation and the quality of its offerings are enormous, making it a must-visit destination in La Habra.
The number one reason to visit is, without a doubt, the **tamales**. They are not just good; they are often cited as the *favorite tamale spot* in the area. Their perfection lies in the details: sufficient filling, excellent moisture, and delicious flavor across varieties like **pork, chicken, and cheese with rajas**. The remarkable pricing flexibility—**$2.68 hot or $1.00 cold**—makes this high-quality ethnic specialty highly affordable, whether you need a quick lunch or a dozen to stock the fridge. Beyond the tamales, the bakery maintains a focus on value and specialty sweets. The **Bolillo bread**, priced at a mere **3 for $1.00**, is an incredible deal for fresh, local bread. The unexpected delight of the **churro filled with cajeta** proves that the bakers excel across the sweet spectrum as well. This unique combination of a savory star (tamales) and sweet excellence (churros, bread) in a dedicated **Bakery** setting is rare and highly valuable to the local community.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1They have really great tasting tamales!!! I tried the cheese, chicken, and pork tamales. DELICIOUS. Loved them all. Well proportioned, sufficient filling, tasty and moist! I meant to get chicken, pork, and beef but they gave me cheese since all I said was 1 of each flavor. Maybe they ran out of beef. I should have checked but no big deal. I am definitely coming back again soon. This is now my favorite tamale spot! Tamales run $2.68 each served hot and $1.00 each if you purchase them cold. Also tried the bread with jalapeno cream cheese which some people rave about. It is the bolillo bread filled with cream cheese mix jalapeno. Was decent but felt it needed more filling. I wouldn't get it again. Rather have another tamale instead! Bolillo bread is 3 for $1.00.Really tiny bakery shop. Be careful when arriving. Check windows to see how crowded it is before entering the store. The customer standing area is enough for 3 adults with minimum 6 foot distance. There is no distance monitoring. You need to make sure you are taking safety measures. Wear a mask and stay away from others unless purchasing.Parking limited. Street parking or check somewhere around the back. Staff was nice and they speak English. They take credit cards and mobile pay. I used Samsung Pay. I visited 08/29/20.
September 10 · SamsungGalThe tamales here are very good I tried chicken, pork and even the cheese with rajas that I normally don't like were amazing...the churro was delicious filled with cajeta...I was not expecting that. The only thing that sucks is the parking. I'm not sure if they have any dedicated parking on the side or the back, but the street parking is super dangerous, cars zoom by so fast..be very careful.

April 05 · Jackson KilgerI have been going to this bakery since I was a kid in the 70's. Always, great pastries and deserts. Everyone has a smile on their face and happy to help you choose the best of the day.
March 15 · LisaMy mom brought me an assortment of Pan Dulce from this place and every piece tasted like I was a kid again. Soft spiced bread with harden colorful sugars. It was so amazing. I live too far to get some every weekend. Locals are very lucky. And for me? East LA’s famous La Azteca, does not fill this craving. Thank you for giving me that piece of my childhood back!!!
