Le Le Choux Introduce
Introduction / Overview
Le Le Choux brings a taste of refined French patisserie to the heart of Daly City, establishing itself as a premier destination for Bay Area residents craving authentic and expertly crafted cream puffs, known in French as chou à la crème. More specifically, the bakery specializes in the exquisite Choux au Craquelin, a delightful variation where the delicate choux pastry shell is topped with a crisp, crackly cookie layer before baking, providing a satisfying textural contrast to the smooth, rich cream inside.
Located within the bustling Serramonte Center, Le Le Choux has quickly garnered a reputation for its commitment to quality. Customers consistently praise the bakery for its delicate balance of flavors—the creams are notably described as "not too sweet," which is a significant preference for many Californians who appreciate a lighter, more balanced dessert experience. The focus here is on showcasing the quality of the ingredients and the precision of the pastry art, reminiscent of the fine cream puffs one might find in international dessert capitals like Japan.
The bakery offers a variety of signature and specialty flavors that rotate seasonally, ensuring there is always something new and exciting to try. From classic vanilla and rich chocolate to fresh fruit infusions like Creme Strawberry and Mango Mango, Le Le Choux provides a fresh, modern twist on a beloved classic pastry. The experience is enhanced by the staff’s dedication to "great service," being both "friendly and informative," ensuring every quick visit is a pleasant one. This is the perfect spot for a spontaneous treat or for picking up a box of elegant desserts for a party or gathering.

- Authentic Choux au Craquelin: The bakery specializes in this premium style of cream puff, featuring a light, airy shell with a crispy, sugary cookie topping (craquelin), creating a superior texture.
- Balanced Sweetness: A core feature repeatedly highlighted by local customers is that the cream is "not too sweet," which appeals strongly to a palate that values subtlety and quality over excessive sugar.
- Diverse and Unique Flavor Menu: Beyond the standard Original Vanilla and Chocolate, the menu boasts specialty flavors like Creme Strawberry (with Chantilly cream and fresh fruit), Mango Mango (with mango custard and fresh mango), Oreo Creme, Matcha, Sesame, and the unique Tirami Choux (containing coffee rum and chocolate custard).

What is Worth Choosing
When visiting Le Le Choux, the sheer variety of specialty cream puffs can make choosing difficult, but certain items consistently stand out for new and returning customers in California. The selection is ideal for those planning a quick visit and wanting the ultimate taste experience.
For a first-time visitor, the Original Choux ($6.50) is an essential choice. It serves as the benchmark, featuring a crisp choux pastry filled with smooth vanilla cream, demonstrating the mastery of their foundational product. Following this, the fruit-based flavors are immensely popular and offer a delightful freshness. The Creme Strawberry ($7.50) is highly recommended, combining the classic Choux au Craquelin with custard, fresh strawberries, and Chantilly cream, offering a vibrant, balanced flavor. Similarly, the Mango Mango ($7.50) is a tropical favorite, praised for its generous use of fresh mango and mango Chantilly cream.
For those who enjoy a richer or more sophisticated taste profile, the Tirami Choux ($7.50) is a standout. It cleverly blends the cream puff with the flavors of Tiramisu, featuring coffee rum-dipped lady fingers and chocolate custard, providing a mature, complex dessert experience (note that it contains alcohol and caffeine). Furthermore, specialty flavors like Matcha and Sesame are excellent choices for customers who appreciate Asian-inspired dessert trends, offering earthy, nutty notes that beautifully complement the light cream.
While a review did mention concerns about fill volume on two specialty flavors (Matcha and Sesame), the overall positive sentiment—with the customer stating they "will go back for sure at least for the special flavors"—suggests that the quality and unique taste profile generally outweigh any minor inconsistency. Given the high praise for the pastry being "crispy and the cream is not too sweet," any choice from Le Le Choux is guaranteed to provide a superior cream puff experience that reminds customers of the best of international patisserie.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Great service, friendly and informative. The puff pastry is crispy and the cream is not too sweet. It's delicious! The location is a little hard to find, but it's worth the time.I love the blue berry one 💗
August 09 · Kimberly IwamotoFirst time trying their choux and overall I do like it. Reminds me of the ones I had in Japan. It’s not overly sweet which is great. Tried matcha, sesame, tiramisu and strawberry. Loved all the flavors! My only complaint is the matcha and sesame cream puff was less than half filled. Not sure if it was a one off. I will go back for sure at least for the special flavors but not sure if I want to pay $5 for a less than half filled cream puff.
September 08 · ChrisMy second time here and it is no longer a soft opening, and they have quite a few options to choose from. This time, I tried some new flavors they had:1. S'mores - I saved this for last because I had high expectations. Sadly, this was my least favorite. It was a dark chocolate mousse filling. The topping looked cute, but that was about it.2. Nutella latte - The wafer on top was stale, to be expected. When I cut it in the middle, I was surprised to see another wafer. Sadly, this was stale as well. The filling definitely tasted like a coffee latte. I was a little disappointed, I did not get a hint of nutella.3. Puff cake - The owner told me this had cake inside. I think I stopped listening when he said it had cake inside. I was surprised when I cut it in the middle. It looked amazing. When you bite into it, it was fluffy and light like a cloud. The fruits on top were so refreshing. This was hands down my favorite.Once again, another great experience. I highly recommend you give it a try.So happy to see on my visit to Serramonte that this place is finally open!! We don't have many choux (pâte à choux, cream puff pastry) locations so this is definitely a treat to have. They had their soft opening during the long weekend that just passed. The store itself is cute and small. Mostly enough space to see what's on the menu, what's in the display case, and patiently wait in line. The decorations are cute and I especially loved the mini telephone booth. There was a line when we first walked in the mall and decided we'd check it out after we got food at the food court. It was perfect timing because there was no line. They had a really good selection to choose from. I of course had to get one of each, to be able to give a full review.I ordered:1. Crème Strawberry - Strawberries on top were fresh and tart. I was surprised when I cut it in the middle it had a strawberry jam along with the crème in the middle. It gave it a refreshing taste so it wasn't all crème.2. Mango - When I first walked in, I knew I was already getting this since I love mangoes. The mango on top was fresh, crunchy, sweet, and tart. Just likely the perfect mango that isn't over ripe. I liked the mango jam or filling it had inside with the mango crème. I also, liked that it was semi hollow in the middle.3. Oreo crème - I love the beautifully decorated cookie on top. When you cut it in the middle it has the crème and a custard kind of filling.4. Tiramisu - I wasn't sure if it was a wafer cookie on top or white chocolate. It was a fresh crunchy cookie. I liked that prior to putting it in the box, he put a light dusting of cocoa powder. It was light and creamy not too coffee flavored. It was perfect in every bite.5. Piping hot and fresh canele - I was instructed to wait 20 to 30 minutes prior to eating. I reassured him don't worry, I'll eat the pastries when I get home. I've never had a canele before so I wasn't sure what to expect. When I was cutting in it in the middle the outer shell was hard but inside the filling looked moist. I loved it because the outer shell reminded me of eating the edges of home made brownies and cakes. It was crunchy but kind of melts in your mouth. It was kind of like a bread pudding in the middle. It was delicious. All the pastries I tasted were amazing. They had a crispy outer shell that had a light filling on the inside. It was perfectly balanced and not overly sweet. I liked that the pâte à choux wasn't overly filled so it didn't get soggy like.Service here was amazing. I loved the attention to detail with the pastries amd the care they have with placing it in the box. The gentleman who helped me told me all the pastries were made fresh this morning. You can definitely taste it.I highly recommend everyone to stop by. I can't wait to come back and try the cold brew fruit tea and the wonderful variety flavors they have next time.
May 24 · Lynn EglanThe choux shell is freshly made and will be filled with cream on demand with different flavors. I got the match one. I also sampled the vanilla flavored one. Super delicious with tea vanilla seed visible. Sweetness is moderate and the texture is very light.Amazing! Strongly recommend!
April 19 · Zhuo Z04.19.2025. Banana Creme Brulee. 6.00. Strawberry. 6.00. Smores. 6.00. Oh my god these cream puffs were soooo good. I loved the craquelin. It made the cream puffs perfectly crispy to go with the soft cream. My favorite was definitely the banana creme brulee. I would absolutely go back and try the other flavors.
