Absolutely worth it!They open at 11:30 so I stopped by Friday around 11:15 and there were already 5 people in line. By the time they opened, the line was 50+ deep.Staff is super kind and the place has great vibes. I ordered the garlic onion cream cheese and pistachio breads. Both were fantastic. The bread itself is the same for either type of bread. it’s soft, slightly salty, and has a nice crust. The garlic onion cream cheese is savory, with a thick cream cheese filling and the perfect amount of green onions on top.The pistachio is wonderful. You can tell this is real pistachio being used, it’s not bitter and they don’t overly sweeten it either. Nutty and delicious - Alex Xander

OUT OF ORDI Introduce

Welcome to OUT OF ORDI, a standout bakery that has quickly become one of the most talked-about destinations in Los Angeles’ bustling Koreatown. Born from a successful pop-up, this brick-and-mortar location is the brainchild of a newlywed couple, Gemma and Luis, who combined their skills in design and cooking to build something truly special. The bakery's reputation is built entirely around a single, signature item: the Korean Salt Bread, known as sogeumppang. Far from ordinary, the entire experience at OUT OF ORDI is a fresh, creative twist on a bread trend that originated in Japan but has been enthusiastically embraced and re-imagined by Korean bakeries and food lovers.

The bakery’s unique approach has garnered significant attention, quickly establishing it as a "must-try" spot for California food enthusiasts and those seeking out viral food trends. Customers describe the main offering as a delightful hybrid—a bread that shares the buttery, flaky qualities of a croissant but is shaped more like a plump, elongated roll. The secret to its distinct flavor and texture lies in a piece of premium French butter placed inside the dough, which melts during baking to create a rich, moist, and slightly hollow interior, perfectly complemented by a crisp, salty crust. This core product is then taken "out of the ordinary" with a rotating and incredibly creative menu of fillings and toppings that blend sweet and savory notes in exciting ways.

Beyond the iconic bread, OUT OF ORDI also prides itself on offering a line of equally inventive cold beverages designed to perfectly accompany their pastries. The dedication to quality, from the premium French butter used in the dough to the use of real, high-quality ingredients in their fillings, ensures that the experience is consistently exceptional. This Koreatown gem is more than just a bakery; it’s a culinary trendsetter, providing a sweet and savory experience that is truly distinctive in the Los Angeles food landscape.

Location and Accessibility

Strategically situated in the dynamic neighborhood of Koreatown in Los Angeles, OUT OF ORDI is easily accessible and centrally located for both local residents and visitors traversing the city. The bakery's address at 3524 W 8th St places it within a high-traffic, vibrant plaza, making it a natural gathering spot. However, its popularity means that accessibility comes with the caveat of crowds and, often, long lines, particularly around the opening time.

The bakery is conscious of the challenges of parking in Koreatown, offering several amenity options to ease the visit. This is a crucial detail for customers driving from other parts of California. While the high demand means planning your visit is essential—with some patrons arriving 15 minutes before opening to join the quickly forming line—the payoff is a fresh, highly sought-after treat.
