Pampanga's Bakery Introduce
To the vibrant, diverse community of California, and specifically our neighbors in the Artesia area, we introduce you to a local institution that offers a genuine taste of the Philippines: Pampanga's Bakery. More than just a traditional bakery, this establishment has established itself as a true culinary haven, often described by patrons as feeling like "a bite of home." It is a cultural landmark in the 90701 zip code, consistently getting "packed" with customers eager for authentic Filipino food and renowned baked treats.
Pampanga's Bakery has earned its reputation through a dedication to producing classic Filipino confections and offering a wide array of hot, comforting dishes in the traditional Turo-Turo style. Turo-Turo, meaning "point-point," refers to the cafeteria-style display where customers simply point to the dishes they want—an authentic and efficient way to eat back home, and a delightful experience for Californians looking for quick, quality meals. The atmosphere is unpretentious and honest; it "doesn’t try to be fancy," but excels at providing good, honest food that resonates deeply with the local Filipino community and curious food lovers alike.
While the selection of Fresh Baked Goods is a major draw, with items like Bicho Bicho and Ube Malasadas, the true superstar—and a main reason for the constant crowds—is their legendary Banana Turon. This fried banana spring roll is so famous that patrons report others "buying boxes of it." This focus on quality, comfort, and authenticity has secured Pampanga's Bakery a loyal following, prompting many customers to promise a return trip—often armed with "Tupperware and a bigger appetite."

What is Worth Choosing Pampanga's Bakery
For the local California user, choosing Pampanga's Bakery is choosing a deep, comforting taste of authentic Filipino food and acclaimed specialty items in a highly convenient setting.
The overwhelming reason to visit is the authentic Filipino experience and the quality of their most famous items. The bakery is lauded for being a place that provides a "bite of home," which is invaluable to the Filipino community in Southern California. The Banana Turon is a mandatory highlight, offering a superior version of the classic dessert. Furthermore, the Turo-Turo setup provides unparalleled variety and efficiency for those seeking a full, authentic meal on the go, allowing patrons to quickly load up on dishes like Kare-Kare and Sisig. The full accessibility (Wheelchair accessible entrance/parking) and modern payment options make the logistics of the visit easy.
However, it is crucial for prospective customers to be aware of the reported inconsistencies. One review explicitly mentioned issues with the internal environment (being "Too hot inside," "Flies") and concerns over the quality of certain baked goods, noting a perceived "rip off" due to some bread items (like the cheese roll and ube bread) allegedly containing "no filling" and being "all bread."
Patrons should therefore choose Pampanga's Bakery for its hot dishes, famous Turon, and known Kakanin, where the quality is highly praised. When purchasing bread rolls, it may be advisable to inquire about the filling or select items that are visibly full. Despite the operational issues noted in one review, the bakery remains a highly popular spot whose authentic menu and convenience features solidify its status as a valuable local resource in Artesia, particularly for a quick and satisfying Filipino breakfast or Turo-Turo meal.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1When you haven’t had Filipino food in over three weeks, anything looks good—but this place? It actually is.Pampanga’s Bakery is one of those rare spots that feels like a bite of home. The place gets packed, and it’s easy to see why—especially when it comes to their famous banana turon. People were buying boxes of it, and naturally, I had to try one. Verdict? It’s delicious. Crispy outside, gooey and sweet inside—dare I say, even better than many turons I’ve had back in the Philippines.Their kutsinta was decent too—soft, lightly sweet, and satisfying. The selection of kakanin and hot dishes was abundant and comforting. You’ll find everything from sisig to kare-kare, chicharon to pork barbecue—all laid out like a true turo-turo back home.Service was steady despite the weekend crowd. It’s not fancy, and it doesn’t try to be—it’s just good, honest Filipino food with a bakery counter that could tempt even the most disciplined eater. Will definitely come back. Next time, I’m bringing Tupperware and a bigger appetite.
June 15 · Tita Friday PHToo hot inside. Flies. And some of their bread does not contain any filling it’s all bread. For example their cheese built has absolutely no cheese in the inside. They are charging for just plain bread. Same with the ube bread nothing inside. These are two different pieces with nothing inside. Rip off.
August 24 · PJI love their Turon! 😋 We also got their fresh from the oven Pandesal. 😊❤️
August 16 · Janine MaciasHands down best turon I’ve ever bought ! So worth it ! I bought other items but I haven’t tried them yet hehe. But the turon is my favorite 🥹🥰
August 03 · JRCIf you’re craving authentic Filipino flavors, Pampanga’s Bakery is a must-visit. This spot brings the warmth of traditional Filipino cuisine right to your plate, from savory favorites to sweet indulgences. The bakery counter is a carb-lover’s paradise, pan de sal (warm early in the morning) fluffy ensaymada with a generous coating of cheese, and ube cheese pandesal is good. Everything tastes freshly baked and authentic. Now let’s talk about the star of the show, their famous turon. This isn’t your average banana lumpia. Pampanga’s version is golden brown, crispy, and perfectly caramelized on the outside, with sweet, ripe banana. It’s crunchy, chewy, and deeply satisfying, the perfect blend of textures and flavors. Whether you're grabbing one for a snack or dessert, it’s worth the trip alone.Pampanga’s Bakery is more than just a bakery, it’s a celebration of Filipino culinary tradition. Great food, welcoming service and unbeatable baked goods. Don’t leave without trying the turon!
