Perenn Bakery Introduce
Welcome to the next chapter of Middle Tennessee's burgeoning artisan food scene! Perenn Bakery, already a beloved name for its Franklin location, has brought its unique blend of European-inspired baking and cafe culture to South Nashville. Located on Sidco Drive in the Berry Hill area, this particular outpost is more than just a cafe; it's the brand's central production and manufacturing facility, offering a truly unique experience that marries industrial chic with cozy, warm hospitality. For Tennessee locals seeking the finest, naturally leavened bread, flaky croissants, and a superb cafe experience, Perenn Bakery in Nashville is quickly becoming a must-visit destination. This location, often referred to as 'Perenn's Manufactory,' provides an intimate, behind-the-scenes look at the craftsmanship that goes into every perfect pastry and loaf of bread, all while providing a delicious and relaxing spot for breakfast and lunch.
Perenn Bakery's commitment to quality is evident in their process, which involves sourcing regionally grown grains and milling their own flour in-house using a New American Stone Mill. This dedication to fresh, high-quality ingredients ensures that their signature products—like the four-day-process croissants and rustic sourdough loaves—have an unparalleled flavor and texture. This Nashville location focuses on a counter-service model, creating a relaxed, yet aesthetically beautiful environment perfect for grabbing a quick bite, meeting a friend, or simply settling in with a coffee and watching the bakers at work.
Location and Accessibility
The Perenn Bakery location is strategically situated in the South Nashville area, specifically at 2934 Sidco Drive, Suite 130, Nashville, TN 37204. Tucked away in what is known as the Oak Barrel Building, this spot is easily accessible for residents and visitors throughout the greater Nashville region, particularly those in the Berry Hill and surrounding neighborhoods.
Accessibility is a priority at this location, featuring a wheelchair accessible entrance and a wheelchair accessible parking lot, ensuring a comfortable visit for all patrons. The property also offers free parking in an on-site lot, which is a significant convenience in this busy part of the city. The space itself has a welcoming layout, with seating available both on the ground floor and an attractive mezzanine area, along with intimate cafe tables outside on the front patio.
For those interested in the heart of the operation, the unique positioning of the bakery allows guests in the cafe to peer into the active, open-layout production floor, observing the meticulous process of milling, mixing, and shaping the pastries and bread that are made fresh daily.

What is Worth Choosing
For any Tennessee local, a visit to Perenn Bakery is about more than just grabbing a coffee; it's an experience built on quality ingredients, master craftsmanship, and a welcoming environment. While the entire menu is a testament to the bakers' skill, there are several items that stand out as essential choices for first-time visitors or dedicated regulars.
The undisputed champion is the Almond Croissant. Customers rave about its size, perfect flakiness, and depth of flavor, often citing it as the best they've encountered. Following closely in the pastry category are the classic Chocolate Croissant and the savory Prosciutto & Gruyere Croissant, a buttery delight that perfectly balances sweet and salty.
For those looking for a savory breakfast or brunch, the Breakfast Sandwich ($12.00) is a customer favorite, served on an English muffin or a croissant with an egg soufflé, cheddar, and your choice of sausage, bacon jam, or caramelized onions. If you prefer a lighter, refreshing option, the Avocado Toast ($12.00) or the Perenn Kale Salad ($18.00) with a tahini-lemon vinaigrette are excellent, ingredient-focused choices.
Beyond the daily pastries, be sure to take home one of their baguettes or a naturally leavened loaf to truly appreciate the flavor that comes from their house-milled, regionally-sourced flour. Don't forget the beverages—the specialty coffee and espresso lineup is robust, with unique drinks like the Iced Herbes de Provence Latte and the popular Matcha Cloud offering a memorable twist on classic cafe fare. The Granola Bowl ($14.00) is another highlight, praised by customers as the "hands down the best granola" they've ever eaten.
In a nutshell, Perenn Bakery is worth choosing for the unmatched quality of its foundational ingredients, the transparency of its artisan baking process, and the delightful atmosphere that encourages guests to "linger and settle in." It’s an investment in a truly superior food experience, proving that sometimes, you truly get what you pay for.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1This is the second location of Perenn in the Nashville area (the first is in Franklin). This location does not have the table service like the Franklin one does - this is counter style. The aesthetic of this one is still so great. The space is beautiful and while I don't know what it was before, it is really just lovely. There are a few tables out front, and there is both upstairs and downstairs seating. Place your pastry order, and they'll box them up for you, then place any other hot food/drinks order and pay. There's also a cooler with some sandwiches and other goodies you'll want to check out!For the best part: please get the almond croissant. This is my favorite pastry in all of the land. I have tried them in many, many places. In fact, whenever I travel (and I do so frequently), this is the one pastry I research and go out of my way to get.Perenn has nearly perfected it. This one was so freaking good. And it's huge. The staff is great. The almond croissant is nearly perfect. Yes, it's a bit expensive. But the ingredients are solid. The space is gorgeously aesthetic. The staff is fantastic. Sometimes, you get what you pay for. How lucky we are to have Perenn here.
August 11 · Erin JungThis was my first visit to Perenn as I have not been to the first Franklin location. I tried the matcha cloud which was so different and delicious. I also tried the Gruyère and prosciutto croissant, the danish of the day (raspberry jam) and a baguette. The pastries were yummy but the baguette was tougher than normal. I went on a Saturday morning so there was an understandably long line since it’s so new. I’d go back for dine in service once the volume slows down. I got some granola and it’s hands down the best granola I’ve ever eaten
August 11 · Bridget WhitsittI had that almond croissant, it was fresh outta the oven, and the best thing I've eaten in long time! Very, very good. Though I ordered a mocha, but didn't ring up..oh well. Alas, no cloth napkins or it would have been 5 stars! They did have China plates and silverware I saw...not sure what my friend got, but she said her's was good as well! Our 2nd time going here, but the first time it was soon busy, they were lined up out the door. Caught them at the right time today, short line and fresh out the oven. We'll be back
September 19 · I. Fish CheapVery lovely and cozy atmosphere. I loved their pastries. The coffee was good too. The only problem they closed very early 2:30.
August 21 · Yasmeen AlabduljabbarHeard a lot about this place and was excited to try out the pastries. We got 4 things, including almond and chocolate croissants and 2 kouign amann for about $30. It was expensive but they were huge and well baked. In general, the food was good, but the chocolate croissant was criminal. There was less chocolate in it than a mini Hershey bar. What you see in this picture is more than half the chocolate. Really over promised and under delivered. The actual baking was good. Great lamination and buttery taste, but this particular pastry was a sad site. Also the place gets really really busy (line out the door, etc.) after about 9:30 on Saturday, so go early or on a weekday if you go.
