Pop’s Bagels Introduce
Introduction / Overview: Pop's Bagels, A Culinary Triumph in Los Angeles
California’s dynamic food scene has welcomed a new leader in the pursuit of the perfect bagel, and it’s Pop’s Bagels. What began as a personal quest in 2017 by owner Zach Liporace, searching for a bagel that flawlessly combined a soft, fluffy inside with a crisp, chewy exterior, quickly evolved into a full-fledged culinary movement. Today, Pop's Bagels is widely celebrated and is proudly leading what many refer to as the "West Coast bagel renaissance." Located in the bustling heart of Culver City, this shop has garnered praise from major publications, cementing its reputation as a serious contender for the title of 'Best Bagel in Los Angeles.'
Pop's Bagels is not just a place to grab a quick breakfast; it's an experience built on quality and tradition, honoring the owner's Brooklyn-raised grandfather, Arnold Midlarsky (affectionately called "Pop"), who instilled a deep appreciation for New York bagel culture. The store embodies a vibrant, delightful aroma and a positive "vibey" atmosphere, often playing lively music. While the indoor space is described as being quite small, the ample, well-spaced outdoor seating at The Culver Steps complex provides a perfect spot for California locals and visitors alike to enjoy their meal and people-watch under the sunshine.
A significant part of Pop’s appeal, especially in the health-conscious California market, is its unwavering commitment to dietary inclusivity. Customers rave that all their standard bagels are, by default, vegan, and the menu boasts exceptional gluten-free options, which some patrons hail as the best gluten-free bagels they have ever tasted. The dedication to high-quality ingredients and a perfected, traditional hand-rolled, boil-and-bake process ensures a consistently fantastic product, making Pop's Bagels a cherished spot on the Westside for a morning treat or a hearty midday sandwich.
Location and Accessibility: Your Destination at The Culver Steps
The Pop’s Bagels Culver City location is strategically situated within the dynamic and popular Culver Steps complex, making it a central and convenient destination on the Westside of Los Angeles. This lively retail and office hub offers a modern and engaging environment for patrons.
The specific address is 9300 Culver Blvd #112, Culver City, CA 90232, USA. While the shop itself is described as a tiny retail space, its location within the larger complex means patrons have plenty of outdoor seating to enjoy their orders. This setting, perfect for an alfresco breakfast, capitalizes on the favorable Southern California weather.
In terms of accessibility for the local community, Pop's Bagels accommodates various needs. The location is wheelchair accessible, including a wheelchair-accessible entrance and parking lot. Parking in this busy area can be a consideration for visitors. While street parking is often metered, The Culver Steps complex does offer an underground structure. A helpful tip for first-time visitors is that the structure provides free parking for the first hour, with a small charge thereafter (currently $1 for every 30 minutes). For those planning a quick visit or pickup, this arrangement generally works well, and ordering ahead online is an available option to minimize wait times.

What is Worth Choosing at Pop's Bagels
For California locals seeking a truly exceptional bagel experience, Pop's Bagels offers a unique and compelling blend of East Coast tradition and West Coast sensibility. The very foundation of the business—the commitment to a "fluffy, crispy, perfectly chewy" bagel—is a testament to the owner's passion, which led to the name Pop's in tribute to his bagel-loving Brooklyn grandfather. The consistent quality has earned the shop features in prominent food publications, solidifying its place among the best bagel destinations in Southern California.
What truly makes Pop's Bagels a standout choice in a competitive LA market is its broad appeal and inclusive menu. Whether you are a classic enthusiast craving an Everything bagel with a generous schmear, or you have specific dietary needs, Pop's has you covered. The availability of top-tier gluten-free bagels and all-vegan base bagels with dairy-free schmear options (like the cashew cream cheese) is a significant draw, ensuring no one has to compromise on flavor or quality. The sesame seed bagel, in particular, is noted for its "magnificent" texture—crisp on the outside with a cushiony, soft interior.
Beyond the bagels themselves, the Culver City location provides a delightful atmosphere. Situated in the modern Culver Steps, it’s an easy-to-access spot perfect for a quick breakfast or a relaxed weekend brunch. With multiple convenient ways to order—from quick pickup via the inKind App to delivery—and the option of enjoying your food at the ample outdoor seating, Pop's Bagels is built for the fast-paced yet enjoyment-focused California lifestyle. For those on the Westside looking to taste what is being called the future of the West Coast bagel, Pop's Bagels is absolutely worth a visit.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Ordered for pick up using the inKind App. My order was approximated to be ready within 13 mins. Upon arrivalmy order was ready. It's a tiny little shop with little no space to be seated however, there is plenty of outdoor seating. This specific location can be found at The Culver Steps.I would suggest coming on a Sunday morning with yourself or a friend and people watch while you enjoy your bagel.Parking is pretty eh in this area. There is a structure where after an hour your charged $1 for every 30mins after. There is some metered parking so if you come on a Sunday as suggested you shouldn't have to pay for parking. My kid enjoy is bagel breakfast. He really enjoyed the chocolate chips and i appreciate that the bagel was gluten free and freshly made. My son didn't really enjoy the egg he stated that he felt like it needed more seasoning. For an amount of about $7 you're given a pretty generous and fair portion. Two of my friends have been going crazy over matcha drinks I hadn't yet had one so my curiosity decided to try one. It takes like greenery as I suspected don't understand the hype about Matcha but I'm not counting that against Pop's Bagels. We will likely come again for just the bagels and vibes.Go check it out for yourself!
April 06 · R. Robinsonone of the best bagels I have had. I love that they are all vegan and they also have gluten free options. I got the jalapeño cheddar cheese with the original smear. Thank you pops!!
April 20 · Rebeca EscobarTried Pop’s Bagel, but unfortunately, it didn’t live up to the hype. The bagels are small, not fresh, and definitely not worth $6 for just a bagel with cream cheese. If they’re going to advertise freshly baked bagels, they should actually sell them fresh. Nothing special about it—probably wouldn’t go back.
February 01 · Ali F.The bagels themselves are great. I love that they will scoop them too ! I would give Pop’s a 5 star if the pricing wasn’t so steep. The pricing is also a bit arbitrary and all over the place … $12 for one bagel with avocado but $2 each bagel if you get their dozen … The tuna salad is also very good !
February 09 · Kelly SidneyWalked right in this morning and was able to order immediately. What I enjoy most is the size of the bagel you get. I always leave full and appreciate that as someone who has a big appetite.Briana (Breana?) was super helpful and patient with my indecisiveness by helping me narrow down my options. Really appreciated her and had a great experience all around.Eating the jalapeño cheddar bagel with lox schmear per her recommendation and it did not miss!
