Potter's Pasties & Pies Introduce
Introduction / Overview: Potter's Pasties & Pies—Bringing Traditional British Comfort to Minnesota
For Minnesotans seeking a truly unique, satisfying, and easy meal takeaway option, look no further than Potter's Pasties & Pies in the heart of Minneapolis. This establishment is a delightful fusion of a specialty Pie shop, a casual Takeout Restaurant, and even a purveyor of sweet treats, including an Ice cream shop component. However, the true star of the show is the pasty—a handheld, savory pie with deep roots in British and Minnesotan Iron Range history.
Potter's Pasties & Pies has cultivated a local reputation for its commitment to quality and unique offerings. They specialize in crafting a pasty with a legendary crust, often noted for its "perfect balance of durability and tender flakiness," capable of holding generous, moist fillings. From traditional minced beef to inventive Asian-fusion options, these pasties are a substantial, comforting, and perfectly portable meal solution.
The unique vibe of this spot is also a major draw for the community. One customer raved about the atmosphere and the friendly family behind the counter: "Easily some of the best food I've ever had, and it's super unique. I love the young man who plays metal and sings, and the rest of the family is good people, no doubt." This dedication to personality and warmth, combined with a focus on quick, efficient service, makes it an excellent choice for a Quick visit for lunch or dinner. It is also proudly identified as a women-owned business, contributing to the diverse entrepreneurial spirit of the Twin Cities.
Location and Accessibility
Potter's Pasties & Pies holds a distinctive location in the SE Como Neighborhood of Minneapolis, contributing to its "hole-in-the-wall" charm and local appeal.
The primary address for the takeout facility is: 1820 Como Ave SE, Minneapolis, MN 55414, USA.
Finding the shop is part of the local adventure, as it often operates out of a highly unique, subterranean space. Some local reviews note that customers might initially be "afraid to go down the stairs at first," or have to search for the back entrance, but the reward is always worth the effort. This characteristic adds to the "perfect vibes" that long-time patrons cherish. While the establishment focuses on Takeout and Delivery, its location in a vibrant, easily accessible area of Minneapolis makes it a convenient stop for those living or working in the Como, Dinkytown, or Marcy-Holmes neighborhoods.
Currently, the primary focus is on a takeout/delivery model, making the ease of In-store pickup and access paramount to the service design.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Easily some of the best food I've ever had, and it's super unique. I love the young man who plays metal and sings, and the rest of the family is good peopl, no doubt. I was honestly afraid to go down the stairs at first, but it's very much worth it. Unfortunately I moved out of the neighborhood, but I will try and come back whenever I'm around. Love this place to DEATH!! Perfect vibes.
September 05 · Augustine VegaI ordered a Sausage Roll and a Chicken Pasty. Service was fast and super friendly. From the time I walked up to the truck until I walked back into the office was about 2 minutes. Both items were delicious and extremely filling. My only complaint is that I'm at work for another 5 hours and fighting off a food coma, not a bad problem to have. 10 out of 10 would order from again! (No pictures because I couldn't stop eating)
August 06 · William HovermanVisiting from STL on a work trip. This place is amazing!!! Got the traditional, Thai veggie and Mac n cheese. Also snagged a jar of their pickle relish. If I'm up here again I gotta go back! 🤤😋
August 14 · Tyler BuchholzTried Potters Pasties Food Truck last night at Venn Brewing. Got the Traditional & Sausage. Can’t say enough good things about it! I was not expecting that much flavor. The apple butter dip with the sausage put it over the top.Placed an online order when they opened this morning to stock up on their frozen pasties. Great service!
June 05 · Colleen BeckstromI was looking forward to experiencing the food truck, but it was not the best experience. The guy running the truck seemed to not want to be there. I've had the chicken pasty before, so I tried the traditional one this time. Unfortunately, the dough was par cooked, and I kept tasting it the rest of the day. Not enjoyable.
