Rich's Bagels Introduce
For over two decades,
Rich's Bagels
has been a staple in the Holladay community and a must-visit destination for bagel aficionados across the Salt Lake Valley. Located at 6191 S Highland Dr, this local gem is more than just a bagel shop; it operates as a full-service cafe, offering a cozy spot for breakfast, lunch, and a quality cup of coffee. Founded on a passion for bringing authentic, high-quality bagels to Utah, Rich's has cultivated a reputation for its distinctive, chewy, and flavorful hand-rolled bagels, which locals often describe as having a perfect texture—firm on the outside and soft within. The true hallmark of Rich's Bagels lies in its dedication to unique flavors, both in its dough and its signature schmears. They are particularly famous throughout the region for their
Original Asiago Bagel
, a savory creation that many Utahns consider the best in the state. Paired with their house-made cream cheese concoctions, which range from classic plain and veggie to the adventurous Jalapeno Orange or Green Olive Pimento, the experience is designed to be memorable. Whether you're grabbing a dozen fresh bagels for the office, settling in for a hearty breakfast sandwich, or picking up a unique tub of honey butter to take home, Rich's Bagels offers a genuine local taste that keeps regulars coming back for more, even amid their occasionally infamous morning rush.Rich's Bagels is centrally located at a bustling, yet easily accessible, spot in Holladay, a prime area for customers living in or traveling through the eastern bench of the Salt Lake Valley.

Address: 6191 S Highland Dr, Holladay, UT 84121, USA
Phone: (801) 277-3137
The shop is generally open seven days a week, with earlier opening times on weekdays to accommodate the morning commute and slightly reduced hours on Sunday. Given the common customer feedback about potential wait times, using the phone for large takeout orders or planning your visit outside of the busiest morning rush is a highly recommended local strategy.
Rich's Bagels is worth choosing for Utah locals because it offers an authentic, high-quality, and richly flavored bagel experience that differentiates itself from mass-produced competitors. Customers are choosing artisan quality, unique flavor innovation, and the unmistakable taste of a beloved local institution.
While some reviews acknowledge that the operational speed might occasionally be a "D+," the consistent praise for the food quality—the "best bagels ever," the "unbeatable" Asiago, and the "life-changing" spreads—clearly indicates where the true value lies. Regulars are willing to "sign up for" the potential wait because the quality of the product is simply superior. You are choosing to support a Salt Lake original that prioritizes the perfect, chewy texture and bold flavor combinations, such as the spicy Jalapeno Cheddar bagel and the sweet and savory Cran Raspberry cream cheese. For anyone in the Salt Lake Valley seeking the best-tasting bagel and a memorable breakfast or lunch, Rich's Bagels provides a genuine culinary reward that truly justifies the journey and the (occasional) patience required.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Deep in the mystical woods of Holladay, I followed a trail of sesame seeds laid out by what I can only assume was a carb-craving leprechaun, straight to Rich’s Bagels! It’s a golden circle of joy at the end of the 🌈 rainbow🌈!As I stepped inside, the scent of freshly toasted dough and cream cheese whispered secrets of breakfast past, and I swear a poppyseed bagel winked at me.I ordered the jalapeño cheddar bagel, and it bit back harder than my ex on taco night, but I liked it. Grrrrr!Every bite was like unlocking a new level of edible treasure, doughlightful, holey goodness with schmear magic. As I sat there, crying softly into my cinnamon sugar bagel and hearing the raisins on my wife’s bagel speak my name with Hispanic accent… I had to wonder—have I finally lost my mind, or just found the perfect bagel?🥯
July 09 · Ryan StewartLet me start by saying I rarely leave bad reviews. I genuinely feel for the plight of owning a business. I love giving the benefit of the doubt, and it takes a lot for me to do this, but enough is enough. So for whatever reason my 9 year old loves this place. I’m not a big ‘bagel guy’, but I’m sure by bagel standards go, they are good. However, even when the line is short, it takes forever. It’s just a poorly ran operation. Invest in more training, better employees, SoP’s, whatever it may be. When you have a line out the door and 30 minute ticket times, I’m sure you could figure it out if you wanted to. But maybe you just don’t have to.They are always apologetic for the wait. We always get one bagel, and one bagel only. It’s plain, toasted and with cream cheese. Today we were the second person in line, and it took ten minutes. All the kid employees were trying to figure out why a call in order was missing. Literally just one of you take my order, while the rest of you figure this out. They finally figured it out, took my order, and may I remind you nothing else was going on, my bagel sat in the toaster until I finally went and asked for it.Ten minute ticket times for a bagel with no line and these high prices are unacceptable to me. People love the cute nostalgia so you can run a D+ operation, I suppose. I talk to regulars and they all agree, but they said you just kinda know what you’re signing up for when you go there. Pretty good bagels, long waits, and a poorly ran pricey business. But hey, we sign up for it! There’s a light at the end of the tunnel though, my daughter is finally starting to get fed up with it.
August 16 · Jose ReyesThere's no other bagel shop friendlier than Rich's. Really awesome, quality bagels with sandwiches stuffed to the max. Definitely stop by if you're hankering for some good breakfast grubs
May 14 · Bruce MorrisI got the turkey Gouda cran bagel sandwich, wincing at the price but realizing how incredibly decorated, flavorful and big the sandwich was… I was so pleased with the treasure delivered to my table, I knew from that moment that I fully intend to be a regular.
September 06 · Clark FeltBagels are good. We ordered breakfast sandwiches and they were served hot and fresh. Its not a quick service place, so if there is a line, expect a decent wait. It’s clean with tables to dine in. Large selection of bagels and flavored cream cheeses.
