If I could give ZERO stars I would.1. We ordered a cake for 65 people from $200, there wasn’t a problem yet, the cake that we ordered had a vanilla fill that was supposed to have walnuts and more stuff. We were told to pick it up at 11:30am because we needed it by 12PM2. We were there the day of the event at 11:30am, bakery was closed, and one of the employees from the inside just waved at us saying NO. We called the bakery and they told us that our cake wasn’t ready that they had a power outage, therefore they would have it ready by 12 and delivered by 12:30pm (since they messed up)3. Our cake wasn’t ready delivered at 2:30pm (3hrs late), we paid the rest to the driver and as we’re waiting for our change, the passenger (a lady), said -why you give change? (Thinking we owe them a tip for being 3hrs late with our cake)4. We cut the cake and the waitresses started passing it down to our guests and BOY!! The cake was nothing of what we ordered, flavor was horrible (it looked very nice) there wasn’t any walnuts, vanilla cream-fill, instead it had caramel A LOT and some sort of cookie that made it impossible to eatI WOULD DEFINITELY RECOMMEND STAYING AWAY FROM THIS PLACE, their lack of professionalism and communication is the worst, plus if they feel the pressure of not having it ready, they will make something to make it seem that at least they did their part. WORST BAKERY IN THE VALLEY!!! - Towy

Saticoy Hye Bakery Introduce

Saticoy Hye Bakery serves the Reseda community in the heart of the San Fernando Valley, California, offering local residents a source for baked goods, cakes, and even savory items like pizza. Positioned on Saticoy Street, this establishment operates primarily as a local bakery, aiming to cater to daily cravings and special occasion needs with convenient service options. As a part of the diverse culinary landscape of Los Angeles, Saticoy Hye Bakery represents a neighborhood spot intended for those seeking a quick and easy way to procure sweet or savory items for their home or event.

The bakery is known to offer a variety of products typically associated with a bakery, which can include various bread, pastries, and custom-ordered cakes. Its classification suggests a focus on confectionery and baked staples, while the inclusion of "Pizza" in its listed types indicates a broader menu, potentially offering quick, prepared savory meals alongside the traditional sweets. This combination of offerings is common in local bakeries in the region, aiming to capture a wide range of customer needs from a celebratory dessert to a simple, fast meal. The entire operation is structured to accommodate customers efficiently, with service options focused on convenience rather than an extended dine-in experience.

However, local user feedback suggests that prospective customers should exercise caution regarding special or large orders. One customer reported a severely negative experience involving a large cake order for an event, citing issues with punctuality, communication, ingredient substitution, and product quality. The customer stated the cake was delivered three hours late, the filling was incorrect (caramel and cookie instead of vanilla with walnuts), and the overall flavor was described as "horrible," leading to an extremely poor and unprofessional experience. Another customer reported a troubling issue with product freshness, finding visible mold on a cake slice and noting that the bread on other slices was "hard from the outside," suggesting items may have been held for too long. These accounts highlight significant concerns regarding consistency, quality control, and customer service follow-through at Saticoy Hye Bakery.

Saticoy Hye Bakery is strategically located in the San Fernando Valley, making it easily accessible for residents of Reseda and surrounding neighborhoods such as Northridge, Canoga Park, and Van Nuys. The bakery's physical address is a key landmark for local patrons.

The location on Saticoy Street contributes to its neighborhood-centric nature, placing it alongside other local businesses. The bakery is equipped with certain amenities to ensure convenience for a broad clientele:

  • Wheelchair accessible entrance
  • Wheelchair accessible parking lot

These accessibility features are essential for serving the diverse needs of the Los Angeles community, ensuring that all customers have the means to visit the location easily. The business model emphasizes a transactional convenience, suitable for those driving by or walking from a nearby location, intending to facilitate a speedy purchase. The planning category is listed as a "Quick visit," further solidifying its role as a grab-and-go option for baked goods, cakes, and pizza.

Saticoy Hye Bakery provides streamlined services focused on efficiently getting products to the customer. Their service portfolio is designed for maximum convenience and minimal waiting time.

  • Takeout Service: Customers can place an order and pick it up directly from the bakery, ideal for neighborhood residents or those passing through Reseda on Saticoy Street who need a quick item.
  • Delivery Service: For added convenience, the bakery offers delivery, allowing customers within their service radius to receive cakes, baked goods, and pizza directly to their location. This service is crucial for events and large orders, though customers should factor in the potential for significant delays as noted in public reviews.
  • Baked Goods & Cake Orders: The main offering includes a selection of fresh baked items and custom-order cakes, which are often used for significant events such as parties and celebrations. The bakery is listed as a Cake Shop, suggesting specialized custom orders are a primary feature.
  • Savory Food Offerings: The service selection is complemented by the inclusion of "Pizza," indicating that the bakery offers prepared fast-food items alongside traditional sweets.
  • Modern Payment Options: To facilitate quick transactions, the bakery accepts Debit cards and NFC mobile payments, such as Apple Pay or Google Pay, enabling a faster checkout process.

Despite the significant customer concerns regarding fulfillment and quality, the business structure itself offers several logistical highlights intended to benefit local shoppers:

  • Local San Fernando Valley Presence: Positioned in Reseda, the bakery serves as a hyper-local resource for baked goods, filling a niche for neighborhood residents who prefer nearby options over traveling to more distant bakeries.
  • Focus on Quick Visits: The operational design, categorized as a "Quick visit," is beneficial for busy California locals who need to quickly grab their items without the commitment of a full café or restaurant experience.
  • Accessibility Features: The provision of a wheelchair accessible entrance and a wheelchair accessible parking lot demonstrates an intentional effort to accommodate customers with mobility needs, making the location physically accessible to a wider community demographic.
  • Diverse Product Listing: The inclusion of Cakes and Pizza alongside general Bakery items suggests a versatility that can appeal to different dining occasions—from a dessert course to a savory meal solution.

It is important for potential customers to weigh these structural features against the direct customer feedback concerning service execution and product quality when considering a purchase, especially for high-stakes items like event cakes.

For any inquiries, orders, or to confirm availability and current operating hours, local customers can reach Saticoy Hye Bakery using the following details:

Address: 17743 Saticoy St, Reseda, CA 91335, USA

Phone: (747) 265-6675

Mobile Phone: +1 747-265-6675

It is strongly advisable to contact the bakery directly by phone, especially for custom or large orders, to ensure clear communication regarding item specifications, timing, and confirmation of readiness, in light of public reports of poor communication and severe delays.

For a California resident seeking a bakery in the Reseda area, deciding whether Saticoy Hye Bakery is worth choosing involves a clear assessment of the offered convenience versus the publicly reported risks.

What makes this bakery potentially worth choosing is its local, community-based convenience. If you live or work immediately nearby, and are looking for a quick, uncomplicated item like a simple bread or pastry for immediate consumption, the location on Saticoy Street is undeniably convenient. The takeout and delivery services, along with the quick payment options (Debit and NFC mobile payments), streamline the process for the customer on the go. The fact that they offer both sweets (cakes) and savories (pizza) under one roof also provides a desirable variety for a quick neighborhood stop.

However, it is crucial for prospective patrons to be fully informed about the serious quality and professionalism issues raised in the customer reviews. The reported incidents—including extreme delays of three hours for a paid-in-advance cake, significant substitution of key ingredients (caramel instead of vanilla/walnut filling), and most critically, the discovery of mold and stale bread on purchased products—are major deterrents. These accounts point to a potential systemic failure in quality control and customer commitment that overshadows the convenience factors.

In summary, a local user should approach Saticoy Hye Bakery with extreme caution. While the location and service model cater to a 'quick visit' need, the documented experiences of moldy products and severely failed special orders suggest a high risk for disappointment and ruined events. For simple, small, and fast takeout items, the risk might be manageable; but for any high-stakes purchase, such as a custom cake for a major event, alternative, more reliably reviewed Armenian or local bakeries in the larger San Fernando Valley area should be strongly considered to ensure product freshness, quality, and timely delivery.
