★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Seen the article about Somedays opening in Jersey and had to visit. I was here first thing in the morning right after they open and there is already a crowd in there. The Almond croissant and Pistachio lattice were amazing. I didn’t know what to expect when I was thinking of trying the Black sesame tahini Pain Au Chocolate but oh boy was it the right amount of sweet and amazing with the nutty flavor from the sesame. They also have a savory Mexican corn topped puff pastry that is not on the menu which was amazing. Will definitely be back. They have limited seating inside and a couple of tables placed right outside. The ambience was super cool. Staff were welcoming and super helpful in explaining the offerings. July 03 · Guna Shanmukha GedelaAll hail the new King of Montclair bakeries. You’ve read the New York Times article, you’ve seen the Instagram posts, let me reassure you this place is the real deal. When a plain croissant tastes this good you know you’re in for a treat with everything else. The Elote pastry and the simple cream and dill pastries are out of this world. But wait till you try the chocolate cake…. 21 layers! Oh, and did I mention the soft serve ice cream that is made with real vanilla pods. Simply the best.
June 28 · Oliver TreeI’m so glad to finally have Somedays Bakery here in Montclair. I’ve tried to visit their Long Island City location before but they’re usually sold out, so I was excited to catch their grand opening in my own neighborhood. I stopped in after a morning run and was really impressed.I tried the vanilla soft serve, which was smooth, creamy, and not overly sweet… a nice change from the artificial-tasting vanilla you find elsewhere. The Blueberry Cardamom Sweet Bun was also a standout. It had a crisp underside, a bright blueberry jam filling, and a fragrant cardamom sugar that paired perfectly with the sweet cream cheese frosting. It’s surprisingly filling and beautifully balanced.Later, I returned for the Spinach and Ricotta Swirl, made with croissant dough and shaped like an escargot. It was savory, rich, and light all at once… baked with real intention. The Parmigiano, olive oil, and Mike’s Hot Honey added just the right contrast to the soft ricotta and tender spinach.Yes, the pastries are on the more premium side price-wise, but everything is baked fresh in-house daily and nothing sits overnight. The quality is clear in every bite. Friendly staff, a clean and modern space, and an exciting addition to the Montclair food scene. Highly recommend if you appreciate thoughtfully made pastries and crave both sweet and savory options.
June 27 · Kyle StrypeWalked by and stumbled upon this cute modern bakery and wanted to try it out. Didn’t know what to pick because everything looked amazing and I ended up getting the pistachio croissant, pretzel croissant and a few other ones. And everything was being made fresh from scratch. They were hands down the best croissants I ever had. Great customer service and delicious variety. I will definitely make this one of my weekly spots.
July 01 · Chrissa DiakopoulosSomedays is the perfect spot when you're craving a delicious croissant paired with a bold hot or cold brew. I had the pleasure of taste-testing their coffee before the official opening, and it truly hit the mark—rich, smooth, and satisfying.Even better, their homemade mixed ice cream is a must-try. I sampled the fresh strawberry flavor, and it was spot-on: not overly sweet, just vibrant and refreshing. It’s the ideal treat to cool off with on a hot summer day. What really sets Somedays apart is the warmth behind the counter. I had the pleasure of meeting the lovely young couple who own it—they’re welcoming, genuine, and passionate about what they’re building. Special shoutout to Pastry Chef Gabriela, whose artistry and care come through in every bite, the baking sheets are her canvas.Mark your calendar for Friday, June 27, 2025, and try it for yourself. You won’t regret it. And if you do love it as much as I did—don’t forget to thank me later. 😉🥐🍰☕️
