T&Y Bakery Introduce
Introduction / Overview
For over three decades, T&Y Bakery has established itself as a beloved fixture in the vibrant Los Angeles food landscape, particularly within the historic and iconic setting of The Original Farmers Market. This charming bakery is far more than just a place to grab a morning pastry; it’s a destination that offers a delightful blend of traditional baked goods rooted in Russian family recipes and a wide array of globally inspired sweets, breads, and rolls. It is this unique culinary heritage—reported to be named after Tbilish and Yerevan—that sets T&Y Bakery apart from the typical Californian bake shop.
The philosophy here is simple yet powerful: use top-quality ingredients to create fresh, exquisite products every single day. Locals and visitors alike turn to T&Y for items that are truly unique and often hard to find elsewhere, making it a staple for anyone looking to bring a special sweet finish to a meal or simply indulge in a delicious, handcrafted treat. While the storefront experience may vary from customer to customer, the quality of the baked goods themselves often earns passionate loyalty, with some patrons making special trips from afar just to enjoy their favorite desserts.
The shop features a variety of items ranging from all-natural, house-made breads to decadent custom cakes, cookies, and pastries. The commitment to making each item by hand, under their own roof, ensures a consistent freshness and flavor that has sustained their reputation for years. T&Y Bakery represents a heartwarming tradition and a testament to family-owned businesses flourishing within the competitive Southern California market.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Okay I bought a cookie here. The lady tells me it’s $4.50. I say to her, ok here’s $5 and I have the change. As I go to grab the change out of my pocket she’s already run to the register. She comes back and as I hand her the 50 cents she shoves 50 cents into my hand. I look at her and say oh I have the change remember? She looks at me blankly and says “it was $4.50!” Um. I know which is why I’m giving you the other 50 cents and had said I had the change. She just puts the change into my hand and walks off. I can only gather she was too stupid and didn’t know how to compute the change back to me? All she had to do was go grab a dollar. On top of the crappy attitude/service…the cookie wasn’t even good!
September 20 · J LWe stumbled across this bakery while visiting from out of town and loved it!! The tiramisu was by far the best I’ve ever had. And the rest of my group loved what they got too. We even decided to make another stop here during our vacation even though we were staying an hour away. I was shocked to see so many bad reviews. We thought the ladies that served us were nice and helpful and the pastries were delicious.
June 03 · Crystal FloresWe shared a Napoleon after lunch here. This is a shop in the Farmers Market, so it is counter service, but they were friendly. They have a big selection of baked goods for dessert, but we settled on the Napoleon. The pastry was crisp and flaky. The filling was just right. It was topped with powdered sugar. It was just the right amount of sweet.
September 22 · John NicholsDisgusting. After tasting the cake something was off. I then realized that there was mold on the cake. Terrible!
November 30 · peter suhFinally found a good hammentaschen in the neighborhood! Excited to try their other traditional Jewish and Russian treats :)
