The Bakery Tour Introduce
Introduction / Overview
For residents and visitors of California exploring the magic of the Disneyland Resort, The Bakery Tour at Disney California Adventure Park offers a unique blend of educational experience and delightful dining. Known primarily as the Boudin Bakery Tour since its opening in 2001, this location has been a beloved fixture in the park's California-themed land, which recently transitioned from Pacific Wharf to the vibrant San Fransokyo Square. It's more than just a place to grab a snack; it's a dedicated experience designed to showcase the meticulous 72-hour process of making authentic San Francisco sourdough bread, hosted by the legendary Boudin Bakery.
The location operates as a working bakery demonstration and a quick-service food destination, appealing to guests of all ages. Upon entering, visitors can embark on a self-guided walkthrough that details the history of San Francisco sourdough, its unique "Mother Dough" starter, and the various stages of production—from mixing and kneading to baking. The atmosphere is filled with the irresistible aroma of freshly baked bread, providing an immediate, sensory reminder of California's rich culinary heritage. As one reviewer noted, the tour is a "quick and cool experience" where they "learned so much and got to see all the steps it take to make their bread," including the astonishing fact that each loaf takes a full 72 hours to create.
Beyond the educational component, the surrounding area is celebrated for its food offerings, particularly the savory items served with the famously fresh sourdough. This dual function—part educational attraction, part highly-rated dining spot—makes The Bakery Tour a must-visit for a true taste of California.
Location and Accessibility
The Bakery Tour is situated inside the magical confines of the Disney California Adventure Park, specifically in the lively area now known as San Fransokyo Square. Previously located in Pacific Wharf, the bakery remains a central and highly accessible point within the theme park, tucked near the main dining circle of the square.
The exact address is listed as Disney California Adventure Park, Pacific Wharf, Anaheim, CA 92802, USA. While the official land name has updated to San Fransokyo Square, the physical location remains easily identifiable and adjacent to other popular food establishments. For guests visiting the park, the location is a pleasant, central spot, especially for those in need of a cool, air-conditioned break.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1After all the years I've been coming here, I've finally checked it out. Usually, we see people going in for the sample. There was a 2 minute video I watched explaining the history of Boudin and how the bread is made. The "Mother Dough" it's a quick and cool experience. I learned so much and got to see all the steps it take to make their bread.Trivia question: How long does it take to make 1 loaf of bread?Answer: 72 hours 🤯It's definitely worth checking out.
June 12 · Lynn EglanSo far one of the best restaurants in California adventures. The best clam chowder you can find is here. The flavor, the fresh bread and the welcoming atmosphere, you can ask for more. 10/10.
February 25 · Eddie NavarroThe bakery tour is located in Pacific Wharf which is about to be renamed San Fransoyko Square-hence the covering over the top of the building. Every thing here is being renovated to take on the look of Big Hero 6.When my husband and I arrived we were given a small piece of their famous sourdough bread to try. I'm not really a fan of sourdough bread but this one was pretty good. Your tour is a walkthrough of the bakery in action, the dough they use and everything that goes into making a loaf. I was somewhat disappointed in this tour as I had hoped there would be more to offer. Nevertheless I was glad I had the opportunity to do it.Your self guided tour takes about 10 minutes max and then you are in the Pacific wharf cafe where you can purchase soup or mac and cheese in a breadbowl. You can also buy their famous loaves or one that is MIckey shaped. Outside they have a street vendor selling additional MIckey loaves. The Pacific Wharf cafe will be renamed Aunt Cass cafe serving Japanese-inspired dishes in addition to the breads noted above. San Fransoyko is expected to open within a week.
August 29 · Arlene MurphyThey close down well before 7pm. When we went you could still walk through it but nothing was going on, so that was unfortunate. The bakery is separated by a big plexiglass window. I'd imagine in the morning they probably have quite a few workers making the breads in there.Even if this was running when we went i could see this one being more of a waste of time.
July 08 · Captain AutismoI never thought I’d be the kind of person who would buy a loaf of bread at a theme park
