37th Street Bakery, LLC Introduce
For Illinois residents and the businesses that serve them, the name 37th Street Bakery, LLC represents a significant presence in the commercial baking landscape. While not a typical walk-in retail shop for everyday consumers, this Chicago-based facility is a powerhouse, serving a crucial role by supplying an impressive variety of high-quality, specialty baked goods to premier brands, foodservice operations, quick-service restaurants (QSRs), casual dining establishments, and retail in-store bakeries across the country. They are a large-scale manufacturer, renowned particularly for their mastery of laminated dough products.
The bakery’s foundation is built upon a legacy of nearly four decades in the Chicago area, having evolved from a small specialty bakery into North America's largest producer of croissants. Operating from its namesake location on the southwest side of Chicago, 37th Street Bakery is committed to delivering what they call the "Gold Standard" in baked goods. Their mission is rooted in producing delicious, buttery-rich, flaky, and golden croissants, along with sweet, fruit-filled Danish pastries and aromatic cinnamon rolls. They combine old-world baking methods with expanded capabilities and state-of-the-art technology to ensure consistently high-quality products that millions of people enjoy weekly across the US and Canada—often without realizing the product originated right here in Illinois.
The core business focuses on large-volume production, providing finished foods to commercial clients in various formats, ensuring that the excellence of Chicago baking is distributed widely across multiple sectors, including health and education. The recent rebranding and acquisition of Gold Standard Baking assets solidified their position as a national leader in laminated dough, paying homage to the company's deep roots at its 37th Street facility.
37th Street Bakery, LLC is strategically located at 3700 S Kedzie Ave a, Chicago, IL 60632, USA. This address places the facility in the heart of the southwest side of Chicago, an area known for its industrial and commercial activity. For local businesses and transport partners, the location is a significant landmark, although it is important to note the nature of the immediate surroundings.
Given its industrial function as a major manufacturing and distribution hub, the accessibility focuses heavily on commercial needs. For visitors conducting business, such as vendors, distributors, or logistics partners, the facility offers essential accessibility features:
- Wheelchair Accessible Entrance: The premises are equipped with an accessible entrance, demonstrating compliance and consideration for all professional visitors.
- Wheelchair Accessible Parking Lot: Dedicated accessible parking is provided, which is crucial for accommodating business partners and personnel with mobility needs.
It is important for those unfamiliar with the area, particularly transport personnel, to be aware that the site is within a busy commercial area, and maneuvering large vehicles, such as semi-trucks, can be demanding due to tight surrounding streets and local traffic conditions. The bakery is primarily a manufacturing and commercial entity, and local users should understand that visits are generally restricted to business-related appointments.
As a large-scale commercial bakery, 37th Street Bakery’s services are primarily geared towards business-to-business (B2B) clients rather than individual retail consumers. Their focus is on high-volume production and distribution of premium frozen and finished baked goods.
- Takeout: While the term "Takeout" is listed in general service options, in the context of a commercial bakery, this refers to the organized pickup of bulk, commercial-sized orders by distributors and business clients, not individual consumer purchases.
- High-Volume Manufacturing: They produce over 150 varieties of specialty products, delivering a consistent supply of baked goods to major commercial partners nationwide.
- Diverse Packaging and Format Options: Products are offered in formats suitable for various clients, including options for ready-to-eat products, products requiring final baking, sliced or unsliced croissants, and a long 365-day frozen shelf life, making them ideal for large-scale distribution.
- Quality Certifications: They maintain high industry standards, including SQF (Safe Quality Food) and GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) certifications, assuring commercial clients of quality and safety.
37th Street Bakery, LLC specializes in products made from laminated dough—a technique involving the careful folding of fat (butter or margarine) into pastry dough to create hundreds of thin layers, resulting in the famous flaky texture of their core products.
- Gourmet Croissants: Recognized as North America's largest manufacturer of this classic French pastry. They are made the "Old World way" using premium fats, resulting in a product that is light and flaky on the outside, and tender and flavorful inside. They are available in various sizes (from one ounce to three ounces) and formats (curved, straight, round, sliced, or unsliced).
- Gold Standard Danish: The bakery boasts that their Danish pastries set the industry's "Gold Standard." These include a range of sweet and savory delights, made with premium ingredients like fresh apples and walnuts, and sweet Fondant icing.
- Premium Cinnamon Rolls: These are made with a light-baked croissant dough, swirled with the bold flavor of Korintje Cinnamon, and drizzled with a generous helping of sweet icing, positioning them as an indulgent treat.
- The Miss Emmie's Brand: They feature a line of sweet and savory delights under the Miss Emmie's brand, showcasing specialty items like Salted Caramel Danish and various fruit-filled Danish and Twists (e.g., Strawberry, Raspberry).

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1If you're doing a delivery by semi, it is crazy tight. Cars parked on both sides of the roads, narrow streets. In 35 years of truck driving, this is the most miserable stressful place I've ever delivered to. I refuse to ever deliver to this place again. How the city permits them to have semi traffic in such a tight residential area is beyond me. way to dangerous
May 15 · Jeff JohnsonDelivering here is not so bad because the people are nice. But this place is a pain in the ass to get in and out of with a big truck.
March 17 · Korey CarlsenI usually don't post. Mr. Willie there is nice a man. The delivery and directions were easy. Just take your time. Watch out for the employees walking and driving in the parking lot. Take 55 to Kenzie Ave. Turn right on Perishing turn right on Spaulding. Stop for employees before going into gate. Remember the directions going in and you will be fine leaving. Mr. Willie asked me to detache from the trailer didn't take but one hour or less to unload and received some treats in the end. Thanks Mr. Willie and 37th Street Bakery!

June 14 · mike zTruck drivers take Kedzie from the interstate to Perishing and make a right, then right again on Spaulding. Do not turn right on 38th st! It's pretty tight everywhere in general in this area. Better hope there's no cars parked along side the road when you have to turn. The guys take awhile to answer the door once you ring the buzzer but they unload you fast once they assign you a door.
