B&B BAGELS Introduce
For many New Yorkers, the quintessential bagel is more than just a breakfast food; it's a way of life. It’s a staple of the city's culinary identity, and finding your go-to spot is a rite of passage. On the Upper East Side, B&B BAGELS has emerged as a notable contender for this title. Located on the bustling 1st Avenue, this bagel shop has quickly become a part of the local fabric, serving up a wide variety of fresh bagels and spreads that have garnered a loyal following. From the moment you walk in, the clean, well-lit, and thoughtfully decorated space sets a welcoming tone, promising a quality experience. The aroma of freshly baked bread and brewing coffee fills the air, signaling that you've arrived at a place that takes its craft seriously. This article serves as a comprehensive guide for locals and visitors alike, providing an in-depth look at what makes B&B BAGELS a must-visit destination for a classic New York breakfast or lunch.
The shop's commitment to quality is immediately apparent in its presentation. The bagels are neatly arranged on their racks, and the deli case, filled with an impressive array of cream cheeses and other toppings, is a feast for the eyes. This attention to detail reflects a sense of pride in their business, a quality that resonates with New Yorkers who appreciate a place that cares. While some local bagel shops might feel a bit rough around the edges, B&B BAGELS offers a more refined, yet still authentically New York, experience. The constant hustle and bustle behind the counter, with a large and efficient staff, ensures that even during peak morning hours, the line moves quickly. This efficiency is a huge plus for locals on their way to work or just looking to get their day started without a long wait. The following sections will provide more specific details about the shop, including its location, the services it offers, and what makes its bagels so highly praised by those who have tried them.
B&B BAGELS is not just about the food; it’s about the full experience. The industrial-chic decor, with genuine wood plank-look tiles and steampunk-inspired lighting, creates a modern and comfortable environment. This aesthetic appeal, combined with the delicious offerings, makes it a place that people are proud to frequent. However, it is worth noting that during the busy morning rush, seating can be hard to come by, as the space is often occupied. This is a common issue in popular New York City establishments and is part of the city's lively, fast-paced charm. Despite some of the operational and service-related challenges that can occur, the quality of the food consistently brings people back. For a New Yorker, the value of a perfectly crafted bagel often outweighs minor inconveniences, and B&B BAGELS seems to have mastered this balance. The article will now move on to the practical details that will help you plan your visit.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1You have to watch the owner. Good bagels, but the owner is a real piece of work. They have the most expensive bagel and nova. I ordered 2 but when I opened them, there was no nova. I simply wanted my money back. She said she would refund it, but never did. I then had to dispute the charge. The only reason I am bringing this up is because when I went back to get a bagel, I talked to her. She lost her temper. Very disappointed because I have been going there for years. As you can see from my reviews. I rarely if ever give a bad review, but this lady does not deserve business if that is how she is going to treat her loyal customers.
July 21 · Jordan LevineI made an edit after several visits to add that when you buy food, drink and other items, DO NOT EXPECT TO FIND SEATING in the early morning rush. I was there with my spouse and a toddler, it was raining out and several folks were there with laptops open, without any food or drinks hogging up all the space. Common courtesy dictates eat and drink what you bought and move on. Staff does nothing about this and it's unfortunate that two adults and a toddler had to seek shelter in the pouring rain across the street to eat under an awning standing up. $65+ gets you standing room only in the elements to watch young twenty somethings, as self absorbed as they come, take up space with their electronic devices and not a morsel of food in sight. The cashier woman made our coffees and didn't hand them over, nor were there any napkins or utensils thoughtfully paced in the bag. Had to run back through the rain twice. Bagels and the cream cheese are fresh and perfect, though not worth this sort of hassle. Now on to my original review which still stands, except for one star docked for overall score and two docked for service.Place is immaculately clean, well lit with great decor. From the genuine wood plank look tiles to steampunk/industrial lighting. There is plenty of help behind the counter where you won't wait very long in line. The food and the presentation behind the deli case and the bagels in their racks look so good, you don't know where to begin.I got two whole wheat everything bagels, one with plain cream cheese and one with olive cream cheese. My goodness both were excellent but the olive cream cheese was a revelation. Soft, moist interior with nice firm, but not hard crust. Perfection in a bagel. My partner got a whole wheat pumpernickel - scooped out and toasted with both sides buttered. Said it may possibly have been the best bagel they ever had. The variety of cream cheeses and vegan cream cheeses, lox, etc leaves something for everyone and room to try something new, as we did. They also have other offerings like omelettes, sandwiches etc... the coffee was good - I got a large black with no sweeteners. A little smoky and darker roast but wasn't bitter and didn't have any unpleasantness associated with it. Great body and not too caffeinated. Just right. My partner had an almond milk latte which they quickly drank down. All in all a pleasant experience. The staff is friendly enough but moves quickly once you have given them your requests. A New York kinda place. As someone mentioned, our three bagels and two coffees totaled a nickel under $25- so a little pricey, but the location and quality make one not have remorse. They sweep up regularly and seem to take pride in their business here. I think this place is on a short list whenever we're in the upper east side within a mile radius.
May 21 · varanoneIt was really good service for how busy they were when I arrived. The bagel was really good and I’d definitely go back if I was near by, but I wouldn’t go out of my way to stop by.
February 11 · Jean MI recently visited B&B Bagels in New York and loved the salmon bagel—fresh, flavorful, and perfectly balanced with smoked salmon and cream cheese. I also tried the turkey bacon from the breakfast menu, which was crispy and delicious. Both made for a perfect breakfast! Highly recommend B&B Bagels for fresh, tasty options.
September 17 · Lucianny Peña$24 without taxes for bagel with salmon??? It’s insane!!! Bagel was ok not great not bad, just a regular bagel, nothing is outstanding
