★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Although I have bought bagels from here several times (and it is my favorite bagel in SoFL, as shown in my Bagel Bastard series), I’ve never actually eaten in the restaurant until today. The menu encompasses breakfast/diner stuff with curated Jewish deli classics. We had lunch with a visiting friend from the DC area; we had a hard and soft salami sandwich combo (with rye bread baked on-premises) and a legit matzo ball soup; my wife had a off the frame turkey melt (perfect well done french fries) and our friend had a “Veggie Tuna Platter” with a bagel. And of course, we brought a dozen home.
December 10 · Jason PerlowJust had a mind boggling experience here. We are visiting from Brooklyn and didn't think bagels could get much more expensive than the city but this spot proved us very wrong! I ordered a bagel with cream cheese and pastrami my husband ordered a pastrami egg and cheese. We also grabbed 4 chocolate rugelach (the 1" square ones, tiny). The total was $57. Two bagels and a treat is $60 here. My sandwich alone was $27? It came with a tiny cup of coleslaw? And they weren't priced until the order was already being made so I felt trapped. There are no menus with pricing visible and this was something I was expecting to pay half that price for. The sign out front that did have some prices on it ranged from $15-18 for deli sandwiches so not sure where these prices came from. The folks in there were friendly enough and the bagels tasted fine, not outstanding. I'm still in shock at the price.
April 10 · Mary DavidsStopped in on a whim looking for a new bagel place to try. On first impression the outside patio is charming and would be the perfect place to sit for a nice get together. Once inside it has a very New Yorkish vibe going on with the workers. They have a bunch of standard bagels and toppings , nothing original but the basics are well covered (garlic, onion, marble, salt, sesame, everything, rye, pumpernickel, cinnamon raisin, etc)My fault for not verifying prices but this place is expensive for my order compared to others. 6 dollars for my bagel with a specialty cream cheese (scallions) would be $4.19 at Brooklyn water bagels or $3.69 at Bronx Deli. I could forgive if the portions matched but the bagel was standard size and the cream cheese was a standard smear: enough you got a flavor in each bite but nothing overwhelming. For $6 it wasn't worth the value to me, but if I were looking for basic bagels to buy for the house or to host an event I would consider them worth the stop on the way to Publix for the fixings.
June 23 · Tiffany FollinI go to Bagel City every couple month, it's a go-to breakfast spot in Boca. I love their French Toast, and their specials are always affordable and popular. Their pastries are also very good, and I've bought from them before and taken it home. It's popular with the elderly and conservative community, so if you're a young adult, not a regular, or not in that demographic you might get some looks. But I think that's how a lot of small diners are.
June 25 · Jonathan Davis (JTD)All the food is very good but what makes Bagel City stand alone is the quality of their bagels. If you are a bagel connoisseur, this is your place. By far and away the best bagel I've had in Southern Florida.
