From a quick bite on the go to a leisurely start to the day, Bagel Gallery aims to hit all the right notes, becoming a beloved part of the daily routine for many Smithtown residents.
This article will delve into the offerings that make Bagel Gallery a must-visit for locals, exploring its convenient location, its diverse menu, the standout features that earn it high praise, and why it's truly a gem for breakfast enthusiasts and sandwich lovers in the New York region.
Bagel Gallery is strategically located at 67 NY-111, Smithtown, NY 11787, USA. Route 111 (Hauppauge Road/Wheeler Road) is a significant north-south artery in Smithtown and Suffolk County, making the bagel shop highly accessible for residents within Smithtown and from surrounding towns like Hauppauge, Commack, and Nesconset. Its position on a main road ensures high visibility and easy vehicular access for customers.
For those traveling by car, the location typically offers convenient parking, which is crucial for a popular spot, especially during peak morning hours. Being on a major state route also means it's a straightforward drive for commuters and those running errands throughout the day or night.
A truly remarkable aspect of Bagel Gallery's accessibility is its operating hours: it's open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. This makes it an incredibly convenient option for late-night cravings, early morning shifts, or whenever the need for a fresh bagel arises, setting it apart from many other local eateries. While public transportation options in Smithtown are primarily bus routes, the 24/7 nature of the business means it's always ready to serve, regardless of a patron's schedule.
Bagel Gallery offers a comprehensive menu designed to satisfy all bagel and breakfast cravings, alongside a variety of deli and specialty items.
Freshly Baked Bagels: The cornerstone of their business. They offer a wide selection of bagels, noted for their "perfect balance of softness and chewiness." This likely includes classic varieties (plain, everything, sesame, poppy, whole wheat) and potentially specialty options like flagels.
Cream Cheeses and Spreads: A full array of cream cheese flavors to accompany their bagels, including various plain, flavored, and perhaps even specialty or low-fat options.
Breakfast Sandwiches: A major highlight. They offer a diverse range of breakfast sandwiches, typically featuring eggs, various meats (bacon, sausage, ham, steak), and cheese, served on bagels, rolls, or heroes. These sandwiches are noted for being "delicious."
Coffee and Beverages: A standard selection of hot coffee, iced coffee, teas, juices, and other bottled beverages. The combination of breakfast sandwiches with "coffee or other beverage options" is noted as an "amazing deal."
Deli Sandwiches and Specialty Heroes: Beyond breakfast, they offer a range of deli-style sandwiches. The "Balboa" sandwich is a known specialty (implied to be a type of steak sandwich, likely a Philly cheesesteak rendition), and there's also the "Mobster Sandwich" (salami, pepperoni, cappy, provolone, Italian dressing).
Custom Creations: The "Tara Special" exemplifies their willingness to create customized sandwiches based on customer preferences, suggesting a flexible and customer-focused approach to their deli offerings.
Sides: crispy, seasoned fries are mentioned as an excellent accompaniment to their sandwiches, particularly the "Philly" style creations.
Catering Services: While not explicitly detailed, most bagel shops of this caliber offer catering platters for events, including bagel assortments, breakfast sandwich platters, and deli trays, suitable for local gatherings or business meetings.
Bagel Gallery has several standout features that contribute to its strong local reputation and appeal:
Exceptional Bagel Quality: Consistently praised for their "perfectly baked" bagels, striking the "ideal balance of softness and chewiness." This core quality is fundamental to being a top-tier New York bagel shop.
Outstanding Customer Service: The "warm and friendly staff" who "make you feel right at home" are a significant highlight. The specific mention of "Boogie" and "Tara" going above and beyond ("urgent and effective," "best decision I made") underscores a highly personalized and positive customer interaction experience. This level of service fosters deep customer loyalty.
Signature Sandwich Creations: The "Balboa" sandwich and the personalized "Tara Special" are clearly popular items. The "Tara Special" is described as the "best rendition of a Philly I’ve had," indicating a high standard for their hot deli offerings and a willingness to innovate based on customer interaction.
Value for Money: The inclusion of "coffee or other beverage options" with breakfast sandwiches makes them an "amazing deal," offering great value for money, which is always appreciated by New Yorkers.
24/7 Availability: Operating round-the-clock is a significant competitive advantage, providing unparalleled convenience for customers with varying schedules or late-night cravings.
Atmosphere and Welcoming Vibe: The combination of "fantastic food with a welcoming atmosphere" makes it a "must-visit," suggesting a comfortable and inviting environment for patrons.
High Recommendation Rate: Repeated phrases like "Highly recommended" and personal testimonials indicating immediate plans for repeat visits ("Will definitely order again," "almost drove back and got her one") demonstrate strong customer satisfaction and word-of-mouth appeal.

April 13 · Ariel WeigelOk, I go in this place often but tonight was different. I go to the counter ask for a balboa… no steak but Tara was behind the counter and says to me “ you want something better than a balboa? How bout a Tara special?” I didn’t ask any questions and I promise you it was the best decision I made in a minute. Go say whatsup to Tara and ask her for her special drink too. 10/10 my wife made me give her half I almost drove back and got her one. I swear this was the best rendition of a Philly I’ve had trust me. Oh and I almost forgot the fries were fire crispy seasoned fries. Give Tara a raise and trust her
March 03 · Antonio AlbanoCalled in a order lady on the phone said 20 minutes I said ok no problem. (Keep in mind verry big order) 2 heroes egg sandwiches and a couple beagles.I arrive 15 minutes later and the line was out the door. I had said to a worker Is it the same line for pickup and order. The nice lady said no if you called in you can follow me. I did and I was meat with a lady with a lot of Botox, dirty blonde hair, and she said what can I do for you? I said I had called in an order. I said my name and she’s like are kidding me look at this line. I told you 20 minutes. It has not been 20 minutes. What makes you think you can walk in here and your food will be ready. She’s like I haven’t even started it yet. I said I’m sorry I just just what time I got here. I have no problem waiting. She’s like it’s ridiculous and just such an attitude. I can’t even begin to explain it. i’ve been coming here for a very long time, especially when I get out of work late. I treat all my employees too a bagel or an egg sandwich at or around 3 AM every weekend I come down here the first time during the day and that’s how I’m treated needless to say I would not be returning and I’m going back to my original roots Bagel Smith by Citibank. I’ve known the owners for years and they own another shop in Kingspark. please train your staff better.I understand working in a Bagel and or Deli it could be stressful. I did that for years a very, very busy Deli and it gets very overwhelming. When you have a customer is asking for orders you have the phone ringing off the hook, but you do not take that anger out on your customers you need to learn how to channel that thank you.
April 19 · colin colin treacy treacyBest bagels and an array of cream cheeses. Good coffee too. A little tight in the ordering area. Open 24 hours! How can you go wrong?
July 22 · Sue GlennGood bagels, but where is the cream cheese? Four dollars and there’s nothing on it…
