Bagel Town Introduce
For many New Yorkers, especially those residing on Long Island, a local bagel shop is more than just a place to grab breakfast; it’s an integral part of their daily routine and community. In West Hempstead, **Bagel Town**, located at 488 Hempstead Avenue, serves as one such establishment, aiming to provide fresh bagels and a variety of deli items to its patrons.
Bagel Town offers a broad menu that extends beyond just bagels, featuring an array of breakfast sandwiches, cream cheeses, pastries, and deli items. While the general expectation for a bagel shop is to deliver on fresh, quality food, the customer experience at Bagel Town, as indicated by recent reviews, presents a mixed picture. Some feedback points to challenges with customer service interactions, including communication issues and perceived frustrations from staff regarding order accuracy or specific requests like "whole wheat toast." Additionally, a significant concern has been raised by a fellow business owner regarding alleged lack of payment for services rendered, touching upon the establishment's "integrity and professionalism." These points highlight areas where Bagel Town could strive for improvement to enhance its standing within the local community. However, the presence of a diverse menu and a commitment to providing a wide array of options suggests that Bagel Town aims to be a comprehensive stop for many locals seeking their daily bagel fix and other deli needs.

---For residents of West Hempstead and the surrounding areas of Long Island, New York, Bagel Town presents itself as a local option for a wide array of bagel and deli items. While acknowledging some critical feedback regarding service and business practices, the establishment's suitability for locals lies in its comprehensive menu and convenient location.
Firstly, Bagel Town offers an **extensive and diverse menu** that aims to cater to nearly every taste and craving. For New Yorkers who appreciate variety, the sheer number of bagel flavors, cream cheeses, breakfast sandwiches, pastries, and even hot deli items means there's always something available. This broad selection makes it a versatile stop for daily breakfast, a quick lunch, or even larger family orders for events. The presence of hot dishes, salads, and a full range of baked goods positions it as a more comprehensive food provider than a simple bagel-and-coffee shop, which can be a convenience for busy locals.
Secondly, its **location on Hempstead Avenue** provides practical accessibility for the West Hempstead community. While the negative reviews regarding customer service interactions and reported business practices by the owner are serious concerns for potential patrons, it's also worth noting that many local businesses, especially newer ventures or those undergoing changes (as implied by some discussions of a "new & improved" Bagel Town under owner Heshy Gluck), can experience "kinks" as they strive to establish efficient operations. For locals who prioritize a vast menu selection and convenient access for their bagel and deli needs, Bagel Town offers a wide array of options within their community. As with any local business, individual experiences may vary, and direct engagement can help inform personal preference.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I’m extremely disappointed with the integrity and professionalism of the owner of this establishment, Mr. Hershy. Our company was called to perform diagnostic and repair work on a refrigeration unit. We clearly discussed and agreed upon the pricing in advance. The work was completed properly, yet payment was completely withheld. For three days straight, we were given nothing but the runaround. No communication, no follow-through, and ultimately, no payment. This is not just poor business practice—it’s outright dishonest. As a fellow business owner, I find this behavior disgraceful. There is no justification for calling a licensed company, approving work, and then refusing to pay once the service is rendered. It’s unacceptable and amounts to nothing short of theft.Support local businesses that operate with integrity. Sadly, Bagel Town is not one of them.
July 14 · Nature WorksI was waiting on line to place my order, and kept asking the guy at the register if they had whole wheat toast but i was completely ignored and which looked like a kitchen staff/helper noticed me and walked up to me and asked me what I wanted. I started to place my order, repeating it three times but he had a hard time comprehending what I was asking for, at this point I told him never mind, I'll just wait for the other guy, but he insisted to help me, so I decided to give him a chance. He heard half of my order and walked away starting to cut open a bagle, which I didn't want, and I was trying to correct him he was talking over me saying yes ,yes whole wheat, I kept on saying whole wheat toast but there seemed to be a language barrier and then started to get frustrated at me for correcting his mistakes. At this point simply told him never mind and walked out and found a way better spot not even 2 minutes away! I'll just say they were the HERO of my day, not to mention another bagle stores name! With my first experience at this restaurant, I surly would not return again.
July 17 · Donald SOne of the younger guys working there was very rude to one of his older workers. Very unfortunate, I will not be supporting a business like this. This is not how you treat people, especially someone older than you. Shame on you.
June 16 · Victoriya VoronovaHigh prices; terrible, rude service; sterile environment; won't come back even though it's the only kosher bagel shop around
April 21 · KIPPER WALKERExcellent bagels and muffins. Fresh and delicious.
