Cinnabon Introduce
Introduction / Overview: Your Classic Cinnamon Roll Fix in Shakopee
Cinnabon, a globally recognized bakery brand, maintains a dedicated location right here in Minnesota, nestled within the popular Valleyfair amusement park in Shakopee. This bakery specializes in its world-famous, oven-fresh cinnamon rolls, renowned for their warm dough, legendary Makara® cinnamon, and signature cream cheese frosting. It serves as a sweet-tooth stop for the thousands of Minnesota families and visitors enjoying a day of rides and attractions.
Unlike typical retail Cinnabon locations found in malls or airports, this particular bakery operates within the unique, high-volume, and seasonal environment of a theme park. Its purpose is to provide the classic Cinnabon experience—ooey-gooey, irresistible, sweet treats—in a convenient, quick-service format for parkgoers. The menu focuses on the core, highly craveable products that the brand is built upon, ensuring that Minnesotans can indulge in a familiar and comforting treat during their outing.
It is important for local users to recognize the distinct nature of a theme park location. While the product quality—the recipe, ingredients, and classic cinnamon roll experience—should be consistent with the Cinnabon standard, the service structure, staffing model, and overall guest experience often reflect the challenges inherent in a seasonal amusement park setting. Customer feedback indicates that patience may be required, particularly concerning speed of service and staff organization, which users suggest can sometimes lack the efficiency found at other corporate-managed Cinnabon sites like the Mall of America (MOA) location.
Location and Accessibility
The Cinnabon bakery is situated within the Valleyfair amusement park grounds, located at: One Valley Fair Dr, Shakopee, MN 55379, USA.
For Minnesotans to access this location:
- Admission to Valleyfair is required, as the bakery is located inside the theme park and is not a standalone, publicly accessible shop.
- The operational hours strictly align with Valleyfair’s seasonal schedule. The location will only be open on days and times when the park is in operation, and hours may be limited or subject to early closure, especially as the park winds down for the evening.
- Accessibility within the park generally follows theme park standards, catering to walk-up, quick-service ordering.
- Payment options are focused on convenience, accepting major forms of payment including Debit cards.
Due to its setting, the Valleyfair Cinnabon is best viewed as a convenient, in-park indulgence for those already enjoying the Shakopee attraction.

What is Worth Choosing Cinnabon at Valleyfair
Cinnabon at Valleyfair is worth choosing for Minnesota visitors when the convenience of a high-craving, recognizable sweet treat is paramount during their time at the amusement park. If you are already at Valleyfair and an intense desire for a warm, heavily frosted cinnamon roll strikes, this is your immediate, in-park solution. The unmistakable aroma of baking cinnamon and the consistency of the Cinnabon recipe are what make it a draw.
However, local users should choose this location primarily for convenience and product consistency, not necessarily for speed or service excellence. Due to the high-volume, seasonal environment and staffing characteristics typical of amusement parks (often young, temporary staff), the service experience can be inconsistent, with long wait times, operational confusion, and occasional less-than-friendly interactions, as noted in customer reviews. Guests must be prepared for a potential wait and possible organizational inefficiencies.
If a Minnesotan is seeking the absolute best, most efficient, and friendliest Cinnabon service—perhaps for a CinnaPack takeout order—it may be worth considering the short drive to the Mall of America location, which customers perceive as having a superior structure. If, however, you need that classic, delicious roll right now while enjoying a day out with the family in Shakopee, the Cinnabon at Valleyfair provides the essential, oven-baked product you crave.

August 19 · Orara LaroIf you are really wanting Cinnabon, save your money and patience - drive the extra 20 minutes to MOA Cinnabon location to get a treat worth your money. Both Valleyfair’s Cinnabon location and MOAs locations are primarily staffed with young kids - Teens.Regardless of staffing - MOAs Cinnabon clearly has better structure and management, potentially even ownership which is probably why they are so drastically different. MOAs service is always FRIENDLY, FAST and CONSISTENT. The Valleyfair Cinnabon, while convenient to have while there really lacks in every single area of a business. It appears as if nobody is assigned to a certain station. The children (never any adults anywhere - just like the rest of valleyfair) working there while all seem to get along and enjoy working with each other all seem to be there for social hour and are more distracted by conversation with each other rather than providing a positive experience for park goer’s. They lack teamwork, organization, communication and consistency when it comes to serving guests. Each time I have been to this location, the employee who has taken my order (different kid each time) really seems to be clueless as to how to put a cinnamon roll in a box, put an adequate amount of icing on the roll and then asking for the caramel and pecans.. forget about it. Adds an extra 5 -7 minutes (literally) to do that for some reason. Also, not sure why the “cashier” is making the orders as they come - that’s not how things normally work. It’d be different and more understandable if there were ever only 1-3 employees in the building, that has never been the case though. Usually 6-8 employees each time. The very first time I attempted to order a cinnamon roll from the stand, there were physically no cinnamon rolls on the counter being prepped or ready to serve however the oven timer had only 3 minutes left on it. But apparently according to the young girl working that day (who came off as if she hated her job or hated the fact that customers were coming up to order and causing her to have to do work) the wait for one cinnamon roll was gonna take another 20+ minutes per the teenage girl taking orders. I had already waited 7-10 minutes in line with only one person in front of me. Not sure why such a long wait for something that was a few minutes away from coming out of the oven. (I’ve worked in both bakeries and restaurants) serving baked items out of the oven is not wrong or improper to do.) MOA and other Cinnabons (out of state) have no problem handing out fresh out of the oven Cinnamon rolls. It would be nice to see a change in structure when it comes to staffing at Valleyfair - something really changed in the wrong way after COVID happened. This place has declined in service - staffing tremendously. Guests coming from near and far pay a lot of money to attend Valleyfair and it would be nice change in pace to see Valleyfair train their staff better or implement some additional structure and organization to the park.
August 03 · EmilyGot a regular roll to take home, edges were rock hard, inside was as if they didn’t let the dough rise at all. Dense and thin. Not good.
June 08 · KatieThe reason because I was giving them a 5 star the reason because he was very nice and kind and genuinely ❤️ thank you.
July 08 · Tsai-Ling ChenWe ordered one of the regular-sized cinnamon rolls. The roll was warm, but it wasn't cooked all the way. Apart from the outer ring, the dough was raw.
