Cocorico French Bakery & Cafe Introduce
For residents and visitors in Tennessee looking for an authentic taste of Europe without leaving Music City, Cocorico French Bakery & Cafe offers a genuinely delightful escape. More than just a local bakery, Cocorico is a true French bakery and cafe (or a boulangerie and pâtisserie) that brings the time-honored traditions and recipes of France right to the heart of Nashville.
The name "Cocorico" itself is the French equivalent of "cock-a-doodle-doo," a charming nod to the rooster, which is a national symbol of France, and an invitation to rise early to enjoy the freshest baked goods. Founded by Elodie Habert, who brought her authentic recipes from France, the cafe operates on a clear and heartfelt principle: all products are baked daily, from scratch, and with l'amour (love). This commitment ensures a quality that truly transports the customer to a Parisian corner with every bite.
Cocorico is proudly identified as a women-owned business and serves as a full-service destination for both breakfast and lunch. While they specialize in the classics of a French pastry shop, like their famously flaky croissants and crusty baguettes, they also offer hearty lunch items and a complete coffee bar. Whether you're in the mood for a quick, buttery morning treat, a satisfying sandwich on authentic French bread, or a relaxing spot to enjoy a latte, Cocorico French Bakery & Cafe is an essential stop for high-quality, authentic fare in the Tennessee region.
In fact, many local patrons have noted the incredible dedication of the staff, as one customer shared a story of an employee going above and beyond to ensure a highly coveted "Parisian" sandwich was safely delivered to them right before closing time. This kind of personalized service highlights the local, community-focused spirit of this exceptional Nashville establishment.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1We stayed at the Virgin hotel, which is basically across the street from CocoaRico and I happen to have stopped in as I was walking by. The bakery and sandwich place is really great with perfectly made sandwiches and baked goods and they also offer drinks as well. My experience was that it was the last day I was in Nashville in the last 20 minutes the restaurant was open, and I was bound and determined to have this one particular sandwich that looked so delicious to me. I just had to have it. I called the restaurant and long story short, the employee Aicha answered my prayers! I couldn’t get it delivered because it was too close to closing time, but she made sure that sandwich (the LAST one in the store) got to me at the Virgin Hotel. This employee gets 5 starts!!! The sandwich I got was a brie and ham with butter on a baguette, and it was absolutely every bit amazing and she even threw in an extra piece of bread for me. Thank you so much for going above and beyond. I highly recommend this place. The food is amazing. You will not be disappointed. It was always busy the entire time we walked or drove by.
September 08 · Jennifer GoldmanThis is such a cute bakery near music row! The location is not ideal if you don’t live within walking distance of it, but still worth stopping by if you can! I got there around 11, and was disappointed to see that some of the items I had been hoping to get were already sold out. I ended up getting the Parisian sandwich and the caramel croissant bites, both of which were delicious! I could have eaten 4 of the caramel croissant bites. There is both indoor and outdoor seating, and the indoor area looks so magical, I loved it. I can imagine it’s a great spot to do some work during the week!
September 07 · Alex KnodelAlmond croissants have been part of my life since before I was born—my mom loved the French bakeries around Boston in the late ’80s when she was pregnant with me, and almond croissants were her big craving.Cocorico is one of the best I’ve tried in both the South and the Northeast. What I love most is that nothing tastes overly sweet. You can really taste the good butter and cream, and the flavors feel balanced instead of sugary. The chocolatine and the chocolate cake both use a deep, rich chocolate that plays nicely with the buttery dough—intense but not heavy. The croissants are spot on: crisp and flaky on the outside, soft and airy inside, with that gentle, crackly bite you want. The almond croissant adds a tender almond filling and toasted nuts without tipping into sweetness overload. All I have to say is…Toulouse should be proud.
September 25 · Mazen IYour almond croissants made it all the way to south Texas! We were fortunate enough to find your cafe and visit during our road trip :) Latte, almond croissants, pesto pasta salad chefs kiss We got to visit twice while in Nashville and sent other customers your way. I was thrilled to hear my daughter brought some baked goods on her flight back home. Often, we visit places we can go without ever revisiting. Not the case with Cocorico. Keep doing what you’re doing and always remember why you started in the first place. You’re doing great!
July 21 · Sara VallejoI discovered Cocorico for the first time at the Nashville Farmers Market, and it instantly became my favorite spot for fresh, delicious French pastries. Their croissants are next-level—especially the warm ham and cheese, which is my absolute favorite. The Parisian sandwich is also incredible, full of flavor and perfectly balanced.I also love their parfaits, and the lunch formulas they offer are such a great way to sample a little bit of everything—they really showcase the best of what Cocorico does. The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming, with a beautiful view that makes it an ideal place to enjoy a coffee or bite to eat. Plus, the free on-site parking is a huge bonus in Nashville!Highly recommend this gem of a bakery—Cocorico is truly something special!
