Dahlia Bakery Introduce
For decades, Dahlia Bakery has stood as a culinary landmark in Downtown Seattle, offering a world-class experience that goes far beyond the average corner bake shop. As a beloved establishment from renowned local Chef Tom Douglas, Dahlia Bakery has cemented its reputation among Washington residents and visitors alike, primarily as the legendary home of the World-Famous Triple Coconut Cream Pie. However, to categorize it simply as a "pie shop" would be a disservice to its expansive and high-quality menu.
Located on 4th Avenue, Dahlia Bakery serves as a multi-faceted food destination, combining the offerings of a dedicated Bakery, Pastry shop, Breakfast restaurant, Dessert shop, Donut shop, and even a specialist Pie shop. Everything here, from artisan breads and flaky croissants to signature sandwiches and the irresistible pies, is prepared daily in small batches, ensuring freshness and exceptional quality. The commitment to crafting both sweet and savory items means there is something for every craving at any time of day.
The bakery buzzes with energy, reflecting its popularity. While you may encounter a line, the quick, cost-effective, and absolutely delicious offerings—including their lauded breakfast sandwiches and the unique Fossette bread—make the wait worthwhile. Dahlia Bakery is not just about grabbing a treat; it’s about experiencing a piece of Seattle’s iconic culinary landscape in a welcoming, casual environment that is fully inclusive and focused on friendly, efficient service.

While many will choose it for a pilgrimage to the Triple Coconut Cream Pie, the real value lies in the versatility and consistent quality of its entire menu. This is a place where you can secure a celebrity-endorsed, show-stopping dessert for a dinner party while simultaneously picking up a satisfying, freshly-made Bacon Egg Sandwich and a delicious loaf of Fossette bread for lunch.
For downtown workers, Dahlia Bakery provides a necessary escape and a reliable source for a quick visit breakfast or lunch that far surpasses fast-food alternatives. The inclusion of unique and trendy items, like the Oh Mochi Donuts, alongside classics like the perfectly flaky Croissants, shows the bakery’s ability to stay current while honoring traditional baking techniques. Finally, the From The Freezer section is a brilliant, practical choice for those who want to serve Chef Douglas’s quality at home—be it Serious Biscuits for a weekend brunch or a nine-inch Hand Formed Butter Pie Shell to simplify your own baking. ★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1A popular local bakery with a variety of donut, pastries, breakfast sandwiches. The food was all good but not great; you might expect something amazing from a bakery, but it seems to fail on that point. Set expectations accordingly and this is a nice quick and cost effective breakfast. Expect a line, dine in seating is shared with Serious Pie until 11am.
August 02 · Derek LabianThis charming little bake shop is a must-visit for pastry lovers, but be sure to go early if you want the best selection! Their offerings sell out quickly, and after tasting them, it’s easy to see why. I had the pleasure of trying a mochi donut, cookies, a ham and cheese croissant, and a fosette, and every single item was absolutely delicious. The standout for me was the fosette—it was exceptionally tasty, with a wonderfully moist texture that made each bite pure bliss. The balance of flavors was just right, and it had that homemade touch that sets a great bakery apart. The ham and cheese croissant was another highlight. Flaky, buttery, and filled with the perfect ratio of savory ham and melted cheese, it was a delightful mix of crispness and softness. The mochi donut had that signature chewy texture, and the cookies were fresh and satisfying. Whether you’re in the mood for something sweet or savory, this bake shop has something for everyone. If you’re in the area, don’t hesitate to stop by—but remember, the early bird gets the best treats!
April 02 · C SMy wife and I just stopped in for a quick breakfast sandwich and we were blown away! The bacon and egg sandwich with Beecher’s cheese, arugula, smoked paprika aioli on a toasted English muffin was THE best breakfast sandwich I have ever had in my entire life….and I’ve had some good ones!!!WOW… don’t ever change how you make these!!! Super friendly staff as well!
September 21 · Thomas DanielsEverything they offered looked SO good. The bakery side of things is absolutely worth going to. I had gotten a blueberry mochi donut and bacon and egg sandwich. The proportion of the breakfast sandwich was insane, but delicious. The only disappointment was the coffee, it wasn't anything especially great, but not bad. I just expected with their food being so good, the coffee would be the same. There wasn't a ton of interaction with the staff, but everyone seemed nice enough. The atmosphere however was very uninspired, really nothing special happening there, but that shouldn't be a reason not to go.Will absolutely be back when I'm in the area again!
August 24 · Joe GuacciSuper cool little bakery connected to Serious Pie. Amazing pastries that change daily. Unbelievable unique Mochi (gluten free) donuts! And one of the best breakfast sandwiches I’ve ever had! Nice outdoor seating as well!
