Services and products you can typically expect at Davidovich Bagel Diner Cafe include:
Freshly Baked Bagels: The core offering, providing a variety of classic New York-style bagels. These are typically prepared daily to ensure freshness. While one review noted bagels as "decent, but not great," they serve as the primary product for customers seeking this iconic New York food item.
Bagel Sandwiches: The cafe likely offers a selection of bagel sandwiches, allowing customers to customize their bagels with various fillings. This would typically include options like cream cheese (though one review noted staff sometimes "skimps on things like cream cheese"), butter, eggs, cheese, and perhaps deli meats, catering to breakfast and lunch needs.
Coffee and Beverages: As a "Diner Cafe," it would typically serve coffee, tea, and other common beverages to accompany the bagels. One review mentioned "Coffee was fine," indicating it's available as a complementary item.
In-Person Ordering and Takeaway: The typical service model appears to be in-person ordering for takeaway, catering to the fast-paced nature of New York City. Customers can quickly place their order and receive their items for consumption on the go.
Limited or No Seating: While named a "Diner Cafe," the reviews do not mention extensive seating, suggesting it might primarily be a grab-and-go spot, consistent with many popular New York bagel establishments.
Online Ordering (with caveats): An attempt at online ordering for delivery/gifting was mentioned by one customer. While this service might be offered, the review indicates potential issues with order updates and communication for remote transactions, suggesting it might not be their primary or most reliable service channel.

Davidovich Bagel Diner Cafe, while fulfilling a vital role in New York City's bagel landscape, presents a mixed bag of features and highlights based on available customer feedback. It's a place that serves a fundamental need, but experiences can vary.

Convenient Location on Essex Street: Situated at 88 Essex Street, it benefits from significant foot traffic and excellent accessibility within a vibrant and historically rich area, making it easy for customers to drop by.

Cafe-style Beverages: As a "Diner Cafe," it offers coffee, which was described as "fine." This allows customers to pair their bagels with a common breakfast beverage.
Potential for Quick Service (In-Person): While not explicitly stated as "quick," the nature of a bagel shop in NYC often implies efficiency for in-person transactions, catering to a grab-and-go clientele.
Potential Areas for Improvement (based on reviews):
Online Order Reliability: One customer reported significant disappointment with an online gift order, citing a lack of updates, unreturned calls, and unresponsive texts, leading to a missed delivery for a loved one. This indicates a potential area where remote service and communication might not meet customer expectations, especially for expedited or gift orders.
Ingredient Portions: A reviewer noted that staff "consistently skimps on things like cream cheese." This could be a point of frustration for customers expecting standard portion sizes for their bagel toppings.
Customer Service Vibe: The service was described as "usually disappointing," with the staff giving a "vibe is that they’re doing you a favor to speak to you, take your order and hand you a bagel." While not "rude," this suggests a less-than-welcoming or indifferent customer interaction which could impact the overall experience.
Davidovich Bagel Diner Cafe provides an accessible option for bagels in the Lower East Side, but potential customers should be aware that the overall service experience and satisfaction with online orders may vary.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Placed an online order a week ago as a gift for a loved one. No update since, called and they don't return calls like they say they will. Sent texts to an employee who did not respond. Unfortunately, now my relative will not get a present in time, that my mother paid over $80 for to expedite shipping. Extremely disappointed and don't recommend.
March 25 · Andrea DillonBagels are decent, but not great. The staff consistently skimps on things like cream cheese. Service is usually disappointing. The staff isn’t exact rude, but the vibe is that they’re doing you a favor to speak to you, take your order and hand you a bagel.
March 17 · Bryce ReynoldsThe bagels are good, but in the three times I ordered online for pickup from them, twice they did not get the order or have it ready. This is the Essex market location specifically. I order ahead because I’m on a time crunch, if I had the time to wait I would just order in person. Am I supposed to call to make sure they got the order? Seems like online ordering is pointless if the staff isn’t checking anyway.
January 25 · Sophia StaszczakI wanted to like them since the location in Essex Market is perfect but unfortunately the bagel was so stale. And there was not enough cream cheese for a NY bagel so it was all around dry. Like I wouldn’t have left a review if it was just a bit stale but it was severe and I wanted to make sure the owners knew so they can review it! No malice or ill-intent, just maybe check on that. Thanks! Pricing is pretty good though. $10 for a bagel and a coffee! :)
December 13 · Nia RoeIt is a great place to get bagels and coffee. been to a few of the locations. Yet my order of bagels was not ready. TOLD they didn't see the order. I truly feel like they did not care. Not even am sorry. And to top it off they were out of my item. Force to get another item and wait. Felt disrespectful. Mistake happen I get it. But if you're out of an item am sure they can call the customer. Zero efforts made.
