What is Worth Choosing
For California residents, Donuts & Things is an outstanding choice that offers exceptional value and variety, making it far superior to a single-focus bakery. What is truly worth choosing here is the sheer breadth of the menu, which transforms the simple "donut shop" into a full-fledged local cafe and deli. You can start your morning with a Ham & Cheese Croissant ($7.95) and a Vietnamese Coffee, return for lunch for a flavorful Lemongrass Beef ($14.95) or Combo ($14.95) Vietnamese Sandwich, and grab a classic Old Fashion Donut ($2.95) for dessert. This flexibility means fewer stops and more satisfying options throughout the day. The dual specialty—excelling in both traditional pastries and highly-rated savory items—is a major draw. Customer reviews consistently highlight the welcoming staff and the authentic "San Fran vibes," emphasizing the warm, neighborly service that makes patrons feel immediately at home. The highlight of "Great coffee" ensures that even the simplest order is of high quality. While one customer found their cake donut to be "a bit too sweet," this critical feedback is balanced by enthusiastic praise for other items, such as the addictive French Cruller and the generally good prices for the area. The combination of a massive menu, friendly staff, affordable prices, and convenient services (Takeout and Delivery) makes Donuts & Things a highly practical, genuinely charming, and absolutely worthwhile choice for California locals seeking a reliable and versatile dining spot in San Francisco. ★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Small joint, basic menu, good prices. stop by!an older couple sat at the entrance and greeted me, they don’t work there they’re just really nice, looks like they hang out a lot.I just got 1 cake donut w/ chocolate icing - $1.25, it was good, bigger than Bob’s donuts just a few blocks down. But the cake was a bit too sweet. It’s besides the point, they’re more of a cafe. Support small businesses!
August 12 · Mariah JohnsonThis place gives off San Fran vibes and I love it. The staff is super friendly and welcoming. I had their french cruller and I think that it has crack in it—I was addicted after the first bite. Please stop by and support this neighborly little donut shop. My new favorite lil shop.
August 17 · Michael Hernández$8.60 for a vietnamese iced coffee is ridiculous. the lady told me it was $4.50 before i tapped my card but i was charged almost double. went back again assuming it was a fluke and it happened again. my single origin cappuccino with organic milk at a boujee coffee shop is literally cheaper than that. shady practice and the coffee was mid!!
July 24 · Emma FletcherThey have the healthiest, most economical, reasonably priced food on this hill. Let me tell you! This place is the working and retired men's staple up here. Why, you might ask? Well, hard working blue collar and budget minded retired men like and appreciate a good value when they see one! They serve good portions, good food, and have cute waitresses according to my neighbor, Allan. He's sweet.I will also add that these Cambodian ladies are great neighbors too. Because just when I thought that I was the only one in this neighborhood who cared about other people, strangers, (a regular) the locksmith from Warman Security around the block from here, and the waitress from this shop came all the way to my building to check on my eldest tenant. He is apparently been a very good customer for 2 years now (since his falls began and I met him when I was 1 year new to the building). He's also a gentleman and a former Haberdasher who came down here when he was 20 from Sacramento.I got him connected to a Case Manager today, so that he could get Special Accomodation. That way he can get a team of support service workers behind him to help him bathe, get his errands, and chores done. I spent all afternoon with him to make sure he was fed. Because when I found him today, he was weak and malnourished after being in and out of the hospital for the last from falling too much.My only complaint about this place is that I wish they were open 24 hours a day. Then, I could eat there more often, but that would be selfish of ME. I'm sure they have families to go home to. Nothing good happens here after dark. This neighborhood has not bounced back regarding nightlife. It's not worth the riff raff and harrassment, especially if the money and foot traffic isn't there.
May 03 · S.I. L.T. (Stellaaahhh)ordered from too good to go and the donuts were yummy. still fresh tasting after a few days
