Einstein Bros. Bagels Introduce
Hello, Pennsylvania bagel enthusiasts! When you're craving that perfect, freshly baked bagel to kickstart your day, a reliable spot is a must. In Scranton, if you're looking for a familiar name with a wide array of options, **Einstein Bros. Bagels** at the University of Scranton is a destination that often comes to mind. While its location might be unique, it offers the classic Einstein Bros. experience right here in our vibrant Pennsylvania city.
Einstein Bros. Bagels is a nationally recognized name, known for its extensive menu of bagels, schmears, and breakfast sandwiches. This particular location, situated within the University of Scranton, brings that familiar quality to the heart of the city. For students, faculty, and staff of the university, it's a convenient and popular spot to grab a quick, satisfying meal between classes or before a busy day. For other locals, it's important to note its unique accessibility, being inside a university building, which means it operates according to the university's schedule and access policies.
Despite its campus setting, the core appeal of Einstein Bros. Bagels remains: soft, chewy bagels that are ideal when toasted, paired with delicious spreads, and served alongside quality coffee. It’s a place designed to cater to a fast-paced environment while still delivering on taste and variety, making it a valuable asset for the campus community and a potential option for those in the wider Scranton area willing to navigate its specific access requirements.
Einstein Bros. Bagels is located at **237 Jefferson Ave, Scranton, PA 18503, USA**. This address places it directly within the campus of the University of Scranton. Being inside a university building means its accessibility differs from a typical standalone bagel shop.
**Key Accessibility Notes for Locals:**
- **University Building Access:** As noted in customer reviews, this Einstein Bros. Bagels location is inside a University building. This implies that access is primarily geared towards individuals affiliated with the University of Scranton (students, faculty, staff) who may have an access card for the building. General public access can be limited or require specific entry procedures. Potential visitors from the general public should be aware that they might be "unable to access it unless you are affiliated with the University of Scranton/Have an access card for the building."
- **Parking:** There is no direct parking in front of the shop. Visitors are advised to "park on Linden" Avenue, which would require a short walk to the university building.
- **Operating Schedule:** The shop strictly "follows the schedule of the school," meaning it will be closed during university breaks, holidays, and possibly during summer sessions. It's crucial to check the University of Scranton's dining services schedule (often found on their campusdish.com site) for the exact operating hours, as these can vary significantly from a typical retail establishment. For example, summer hours may be limited, and weekends could be closed.
For those affiliated with the University of Scranton, the location is highly convenient, offering an on-campus dining option. For the wider Pennsylvania public, a visit may require prior planning to confirm accessibility and hours.

- Soft and Chewy Bagels: A significant highlight is the quality of their bagels, described as "soft and chewy when toasted," which is an "ideal combo" for many bagel connoisseurs.
- Variety of Bagels and Spreads: The extensive selection of bagel flavors and double-whipped cream cheese shmears allows for numerous customization options, ensuring there's something to suit every taste preference.
- Caribou Coffee: The availability of Caribou Coffee is a strong draw, providing a recognized brand of quality coffee to pair with their bagels and breakfast items.

- Friendly Staff: Customer reviews mention the staff being "super sweet!", contributing to a positive and welcoming atmosphere.

- Grab-and-Go Options: The presence of a "small prepared sandwich/juice/bottled drink fridge case" caters to those needing a quick grab-and-go item.
However, a notable point for the general Pennsylvania public is the **limited public accessibility**. The fact that "you aren't able to access it unless you are affiliated with the University of Scranton/Have an access card for the building" and that it "follows the schedule of the school (i.e. they are closed on breaks, holidays, etc.)" are important considerations that might lead to disappointment for non-university affiliated visitors. Parking is also not directly in front, requiring parking on Linden.

Its convenient on-campus setting provides easy access to consistently "soft and chewy" bagels, an extensive range of delicious breakfast and lunch sandwiches, and high-quality Caribou coffee. The friendly staff further enhances the experience, making it a welcoming spot for students, faculty, and staff.
While its primary suitability is for university affiliates due to the specific building access and adherence to the academic calendar, its presence still enriches the broader Scranton culinary landscape. For non-university locals who are keen to try Einstein Bros. Bagels, understanding these access limitations is key, and checking the university's schedule beforehand is essential. For the student body and staff, however, it is a perfect solution for a quick, reliable, and tasty meal, bringing a touch of home and familiarity right to their campus. It embodies the convenience and quality that many Pennsylvanians look for in a local eatery, catering efficiently to its specific community while still offering popular fare that could appeal to a wider audience with proper planning.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1- Was looking forward to visiting an Einstein Bros Bagel Shop, as i didnt know we had one in the NEPA area! However, I Recently attempted to visit here recently with my Fiancé, but we were unable as you aren't able to access it unless you are affiliated with the University of Scranton/Have an access card for the building, was disappointed! - Bagels are soft and chewy when toasted - my ideal combo. They have Caribou coffee, Coke soft drinks, and a small prepared sandwich/juice/bottled drink fridge case. Please note that this is inside a University building and it follows the schedule of the school (i.e. they are closed on breaks, holidays, etc). You must walk into the University building to access the shop and there is no parking directly in front - park on Linden. Staff is super sweet! May 18 · Angela P.
- I love this franchise in general. I was surprised and glad to see one in Scranton but the Google maps directions to get there and inability to speak to someone there caused me to not get to go there today. Maps doesn't have the streetview correct because of new changes, and it had me circle the opposing blocks multiple times and encouraged me to drive down one-way streets to get there. I'm not even sure of the hours of operation since so many Scranton businesses seem to disregard their Google maps presence. May 04 · Bobby Gafford
- I don't know how long this has been hiding out in Scranton,. but I LOVED Einstein Bros. when I lived in Florida. It is tucked away in the first floor of a University of Scranton Building and no signage outside. Real LOX, Real good! So glad to be able to have it again!Only bad point. is it not being open on the weekendsFor those looking for it: It's on the corner of Linden and Jefferson. The entrance faces the church on the other side-of-the-street if standing on Jefferson Ave. Park on Linden Street! April 05 · Colin Joyce
- Just ok. They're like the McDonald's of bagels. Don't go here expecting a REAL DEAL bagel. Also, for the people like me who had difficulty finding out how to get the restaurant, it's IN Scranton University. Go in from the entrance directly across the street from the big ole church. Orrr just go somewhere else. You'll be much less disappointed. January 03 · Matthew Banton
