★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1What a disappointment. I have frequented this establishment for months, and today was an absolute disaster. One of your employees charged me for cream cheese when I said butter, fine--easy fix. Except it took an additional 10 minutes to get it sorted out and for me to be reimbursed. The strawberry banana smoothie I got was disgusting-- the pre-made syrup that y'all use was obviously cross contaminated and really old because it tasted like mangos and it separated back into ice and syrup almost immediately after I got it. Once I received my bagel, there was way too much butter on it--a light smear does the job. As I'm sitting here looking at my bagel it has about 3 tablespoons worth of butter just sitting on top. The cinnamon sugar bagel is known for it's sugary crust--yet by the time I received my bagel it was completely gone. And to top it all off, there was a small piece of bacon on my bagel. I waited 30 minutes, with only 5 people in front of me, for a crappy bagel and an even worse smoothie. I had to throw them both out. Now let's talk about customer service and cleanliness. Y'all are lacking. Employees are on their phones, touching their hair, money, and then the food. Being in the food industry for over 4 years, I am deeply disappointed. You need to do better.
November 14 · Molly YerkeHonestly it's not bad. But I have two big problems. One is that they use an EXTREME amount of sugar in their drinks. Like a sickly sweet amount. Their lemonade didn't even taste like lemonade, it just tasted like sugar. Two, their bagels don't have great contamination standards. I had a cinnamon bagel a week ago and it had several sesame seeds on it, and today my six cheese bagel had some cinnamon sugar on it.So in summary, it's not BAD but they really need to step up their game if they want a 5 star review out of me.Oh and a small cup of flavored cream cheese was an extra $1.60 which wasn't despicable but a bit much to be honest. For context my 6 cheese bagel was $1.79, so for some reason the topping is $.19 cents less than my bagel.
September 30 · Al CarmaI think they do a terrific job given the small space they have. Lines are often long (a sign of their popularity) but they move quickly. They serve a good variety of bagels and bagel sandwiches, savory & sweet. One tip: you can ask for a wrap if you want lower carbs. Plus they still serve Caribou coffee though not the full Caribou menu.
October 17 · Mark David HamiltonEinstein Bros. Bagels catered a Saturday event for us. We worked with Ninette. She was great -- lots of communication and very professional. She and her team labeled each box lunch using the first name of each participant and delivered everything on-time at the location we discussed. Overall, it was an excellent experience starting from our initial contact to final delivery.
April 11 · Elizabeth WilkinsEinstein Bros is probably the best meal exchange option on NIU's campus. They offer a variety of bagel options, from sandwiches to just regular bagels with schmear. All of their options are very tasty, although I have never had their nova lox, as I am allergic to fish, so I cannot speak to the quality of that. All in all, it is definitely a great place to grab breakfast or lunch and study, hang-out, or just relax and enjoy some great food.
