★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1An absolute delight! The pain noir are one of my favorite pastries in this town, and it's a gift every time they're available! But if you go in and they're not there, everything else is absolutely outstanding. 😊🌈Low on cash? No problem! Grab some of their day old bakery items, toss them in the toaster oven for a minute, and they are still an exceptional joy. Kind staff, lovely space, highly recommend!
September 15 · Jacy IDrove from Minneapolis to Madison for the LunArt Music Festival last Saturday. Sunday on my back back for 2nd concert at WYSO, I stopped in at Far Breton for coffee & yum. Sitting outside, another couple, who can believe they were at the same concert. Nice spot.
June 03 · Henry Young JrSaturday 4/19/25 I purchased 2 pan au chocolate and 2 almond croissants. The bakery is warm and inviting, with full cases of product. The staff person was warm and friendly. The baked goods were so disappointing! The pan au chocolate were not flaky at all. They were literally little buns with a small amount of chocolate. The almond croissants were marginally better, but still lacked in flamingos and could have used some more almond paste.
April 20 · DaddyDean Nett-StrozakI've been getting delicious baked goods from Far Breton for several years, mostly from their cart at the farmer's market. Today we received the worst pain au chocolat ever. There was zero flakiness, having the consistency of a dinner roll. If we could have gotten a glimpse of it before the sale, we would have passed. It didn't even look right. Very disappointing, especially for the price. Hope they turn things around.
August 03 · W WThe questions are how quickly will I be back and how often! Good food and service make me smile. Walking in for my first visit, I was greeted from someone appearing from the baking area. She was friendly and enthusiastic about describing the goods for my first visit. So good, that I ended up with three baked goods all for me! They may have a giant Jersey cow out back grazing on sugar cane for all the deliciousness in each item. The quiche may have been the creamiest I have ever had tucked into to a flaky crust. The day old cardamom made a great afternoon snack. Each bite’s flavor profile was a mouth party. The Kouign-amann is decadent.
