While many customers rave about the freshness and quality, it is important for New Yorkers to be aware of all customer feedback. One review highlighted a disappointing experience with a vanilla strawberry cake, noting it "was not fresh, like it’s from yesterday" and contained "overnight strawberries which looks very unappetizing." This particular instance, leading to the cake being discarded and an "embarrassment" for the customer, suggests that consistency in freshness may vary. It underscores the importance for new customers to perhaps start with smaller purchases or inquire about the freshness of specific items to ensure their experience meets their expectations.
Despite occasional critical feedback, the overwhelmingly positive reviews emphasize the uniqueness of their offerings and the friendly service. For those seeking to broaden their dessert horizons beyond traditional options, or simply looking for a charming local spot with a distinct character, Fern & Aurora Dessert Shop offers an enticing choice. It stands out as a unique contributor to Little Neck's culinary scene, inviting locals to explore a world of delightful and creative sweet treats.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1- I saw this bakery snuggled away while driving past it & knew I had to return. The inside is nice & clean. It's Filipino style desserts which is lovely. They have a large selection of dessert items to choose from.On the weekend's they sellout fast so get here early. I had their Banana bread loaf which was my favorite of everything. It was so soft and warm, wish I'd gotten more of it.The burnt basque cheesecake was nice & decadent. The BonBons were absolute perfection. They have a seasonal and rotating menu which always has something delicious to offer. They have these adorable boxes to pack the food in with a colorful pink theme. The staff is kind & helpful. They have a small lot to park your car in which is appreciated. I've honestly never been to a dessert shop such as Fern & Aurora, it's a nice change from the regular ole baked goods. I highly recommend everybody to come check them out. April 19 · zo maq
- Very disappointed at the 4.9 rating. Bought a small vanilla strawberry cake to bring to a friend house because it looks so pretty with the floral buttercream decor. When the host cut it, and we all took a bite, we had to spit it back out because it’s very obvious it’s not fresh, like it’s from yesterday. The cake was not smooth. The moist of the cake is from the overnight strawberries which looks very unappetizing. Such a waste to throw the whole cake away. And such embarrassment for me to bring this nasty cake to a friends house. $25. Plus taxes, came out to be almost $28. I was expecting much better from a 4.9 rating bakery. Please look into this matter and hope you can make a better experience for other customers. Because I am not going back. June 28 · Eunice Huang
- Obsessed with the dessert, especially the ube butter mochi! It usually sells out in the morning. Recommending going early July 20 · Angela Yang
- A cute little Filipino-inspired cafe with pastries and sweets nearby without having to trek to the other side of queens. On a weekday, there isn’t much of a selection but I was told the good stuff is made on the weekends. I would have to come back on a weekend to see for myself. I got pan de sal, ube cheesecake, and monkey bread recommended by staff. The ube cheesecake is very creamy. I prefer to eat that cold because it gives the top part of the cheesecake a slight crunchy texture since it doesn’t have the crumbly bottom like other cheesecakes. The monkey bread was quite delicious. It goes well with a hot coffee. I got an iced coffee and hot coffee both with ube cream. Note to self: add sugar next time. The ube cream gave the hot coffee an ube taste however, didn’t really taste it with the iced coffee since the foam sat on the top. Even mixed, couldn’t quite taste it all that well compared to the hot coffee. I was eyeing the halo-halo but it was just too early for it. I will have to go back for that as well. Overall, I do think it is quite expensive but the quality of the food isn’t bad at all. I will be revisiting again and it’s so conveniently located next to the LIRR. May 30 · R Ho
- A hidden gem of a Filipino bakery right next to Little Neck station with a seasonal selection of unique sweets. I tried the calamansi meringue and the ube burnt basque cheesecake with an iced ube foam coffee. On top of being delicious, everything is beautifully presented and comes in adorable little boxes, perfect for taking on-the-go. The cheesecake was a perfect dessert for a small party - not too sweet, smooth and rich, and with a wonderfully prominent, slightly earthy ube flavor. I appreciated the bright yet restrained tang of the calamansi when I devoured the meringue for myself.I chatted briefly with the owner and manager, Cherry. She's a 20-year veteran of the fine dining scene; her experience and passion for her craft are evident in every bite. If you're taking a train from Little Neck, you won't regret showing up a few minutes early to give this spot a try. August 10 · Alec Xiang
