Frisco Baking Co Introduce
Introduction / Overview: A Los Angeles Landmark for Authentic Artisan Bread
In the vibrant culinary landscape of **California**, where freshness and authenticity are paramount, **Frisco Baking Co** stands as a pillar of tradition and quality. Located in the heart of **Los Angeles**, this **Bakery** and **Food service** provider is not just a commercial operation; it is a family legacy. Established in 1941, the company has operated from the same location for over half a century, with its third generation of owners proudly carrying on the commitment to "old world quality at a reasonable price."
Frisco Baking Co is most renowned for introducing and perfecting **San Francisco-style, all-natural sourdough** in Southern **California**. This signature product is not a modern imitation; the procedure for making Frisco bread has remained virtually unchanged for over 70 years. Unlike many commercial products that rely on synthetic flavoring, Frisco’s sourdough is created using a natural culture, with the dough undergoing a remarkable eight to twelve-hour slow rise (fermentation) in a controlled environment before being baked to crusty perfection. This commitment to time and traditional methods—what they call their "old school method"—is what allows customers to truly taste the quality in every bite.
The product line is extensive, covering French, Italian, and specialty loaves, but the dedication to using **all-natural ingredients** is universal. Every loaf is made with absolutely **no preservatives** and is **100% trans fat free**, appealing directly to the health-conscious and quality-focused consumers of **California**.
Location and Accessibility: A Historic Presence in Cypress Park, Los Angeles
Frisco Baking Co is deeply rooted in the **Los Angeles** community, specifically situated in the Cypress Park neighborhood. Its physical location serves both its massive wholesale operation—supplying some of the finest restaurants and delis across **Southern California**—and its dedicated retail store where locals can buy bread fresh from the oven.
The address is:
621 W Ave 26, Los Angeles, CA 90065, USA.
While the business primarily operates as a major food service supplier, the retail storefront welcomes walk-ins and is an ideal stop for a **Quick visit**. The shop’s limited service option of **Delivery** underscores its focus on the business-to-business sector, but the opportunity for the local community to access this first-class, daily-fresh bread remains a significant draw. Patrons are encouraged to visit during retail hours, especially early mornings on the weekends, to experience the nostalgic bakery aromas and procure the warmest, freshest loaves.
A key point for local customers to note is that while some payment methods are supported, recent customer feedback has noted a preference for **CASH ONLY** at the retail counter, although **Debit cards** are officially accepted. Customers should prepare accordingly to ensure a smooth transaction.

What Is Worth Choosing: Heritage Sourdough for the California Table
For the **California** resident, choosing **Frisco Baking Co** is an investment in authenticity and historical quality that elevates everyday dining. It is a choice for bread that tastes like bread should—fresh, natural, and made with painstaking care. The primary worth of choosing Frisco lies in its **Signature Sourdough Bread**. Customers seeking that elusive, genuinely "airy" sourdough with a great chew will find the long, slow-fermented loaves ideal for everything from a simple breakfast toast to gourmet sandwiches. While some "flavor maximalists" may desire an even more pronounced sourness, the bread is celebrated for its reliable quality, natural flavor, and versatility.
Furthermore, supporting Frisco Baking Co means supporting a piece of **Los Angeles’s** heritage. This bakery is a rare find—a traditional artisan bread house that maintains old-world methods in a highly industrialized food market. The affordability of the bread, as noted in customer reviews (e.g., $6 for a sliced sourdough deli loaf), makes this premium, all-natural product accessible. For those in **Southern California** who appreciate the difference that real time, real ingredients, and genuine tradition make, Frisco Baking Co is the definitive choice.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Came here bc a Redditor recommended it and I was having a hard time finding an airy sourdough at the grocery store. The sliced sourdough deli bread was well priced ($6) and made for a delicious tomato toast! Wish there was an even more sour version offered for us flavor maximalists. The young shopkeeper had a great attitude and genuinely seemed happy to be working. CASH ONLY though so be prepared!
September 20 · HX PhanSuper friendly, helpful staff. Kevin is very welcoming and knowledgeable. Bread is affordable and good—a little light and crispy for my tastes, but made from straight raw wheat with no additives, so I will be back for the baguettes and whole wheat loaves!
June 10 · Luke YarbroughFrisco Baking Co is the best! Their bread is amazing! It changed my life! I am a better person because of it... no really! The sourdough is mind blowing! Great team and customer service. Great facility. Great Americans! Do yourself a favor and by a lot of everything from this place. They will treat you right. No regrets! Bread, bread, bread!!!!
July 30 · Josiah CastellanoFisherman's Wharf in San Francisco used to be quite seedy, rundown, and cold in the 1980's, but was worth the drive for the delicious clam chowder bread bowls. A favorite childhood memory of mine is lining up at the outdoor stalls, shivering as we gulped down soup and warm bread at the standing booths. Fisherman's Wharf and its sourdough has changed since then, but the sourdough bread at Frisco Baking Co. somehow captures the same taste and texture of the long lost bread style. For $5, you can grab a big boule or sliced loaf of some deliciously sour bread, and maybe a trip down memory lane.
February 15 · S. MatsutaniA good bakery! I often buy wheat bread in the morning there and remain satisfied, since there is always warm and fresh bread, they also sell various pastries that I also take for breakfast or for a snack, in short, manadin bakery is pretty good prices are reasonable, I recommend 👍
