Jessie Lord Bakery Introduce
Introduction / Overview
For decades, the name Jessie Lord Bakery has been synonymous with homestyle, flaky-crusted pies distributed across California and the nation. Operating from a significant facility in Torrance, California, Jessie Lord Bakery is not a typical corner retail bakery where local residents stop for a daily pastry. Instead, it functions as a large-scale, specialized wholesale pie producer, supplying in-store bakeries, grocery chains, and various retailers with a massive annual output of authentic, quality pies. Established in 1984, the business has refined its operations to focus on mass production while maintaining a commitment to traditional, from-scratch baking techniques, ensuring that the flavor and quality of a truly "homemade" pie are delivered at scale.
The bakery’s mission is straightforward: to make delicious, old-fashioned pie accessible to consumers through major retail channels. By specializing almost exclusively in pies—including fruit, custard, meringue, and seasonal varieties—Jessie Lord Bakery has positioned itself as one of the largest pie producers in the United States. This specialization allows them to focus intensely on the quality of ingredients, from rich California dairy and eggs to perfectly ripe fruits and berries. While local users in the California region may not visit a storefront, they regularly encounter and enjoy Jessie Lord products in the bakery sections of their favorite grocery stores, making this Torrance-based facility a major, though often behind-the-scenes, player in the state's dessert landscape.
The scale of the operation is impressive, with the facility utilizing modern methods alongside traditional pie-making to efficiently produce approximately 25 million pies annually. This capacity allows them to serve not just local California markets, but also national retail chains, often through private labeling. For local buyers and grocery procurement specialists in California, Jessie Lord Bakery represents a reliable, high-volume supplier of authentic, consistently high-quality bakery products, which ultimately benefits the everyday consumer seeking a comforting dessert.
Location and Accessibility
Jessie Lord Bakery's primary production facility is located in Torrance, California, an area central to logistics and distribution in Southern California. The specific address is 21100 S Western Ave, Torrance, CA 90501, USA. It is important for local users to understand the operational context of this location. As a large-scale manufacturing and wholesale distribution center, this address primarily serves as a commercial hub for receiving ingredients and shipping out truckloads of finished product to retail partners, rather than a place for individual customer sales or browsing.
The geographical location is critical for a large food processing facility, situated in a high-traffic industrial area that includes major thoroughfares and rail lines. For commercial partners, particularly truck drivers and logistics personnel, navigating this specific corner of Torrance requires planning due to heavy local traffic and the need to maneuver large vehicles. Public feedback from the commercial transportation sector indicates that accessing the facility, especially making turns near the corner and crossing train tracks, can present a logistical challenge. This characteristic is typical of large industrial complexes designed for high-volume commercial transport rather than easy public access.
The company’s services are delivered not at this address to the general public, but through the in-store bakeries and retail chains throughout the Torrance area and the wider California region. Therefore, while the address is the hub of production, the product accessibility for the local consumer is found at their local supermarket bakery section, where Jessie Lord pies are made available as pre-baked, thaw-and-sell, or frozen options.

What is Worth Choosing
For local California retail buyers, grocery managers, and distributors, choosing Jessie Lord Bakery is a decision rooted in reliability, scale, and a consistent product quality that consumers trust. What makes this Torrance facility a superior partner is its proven ability to blend high-volume, cost-effective production with genuine, from-scratch homestyle quality. This dual capability ensures that the pies stocked on local store shelves are not only affordable but also meet the high taste expectations of the California consumer.
The immense production capacity—roughly 25 million pies annually—guarantees that retail partners will have a steady, reliable supply, especially during peak holiday seasons when demand for desserts like pumpkin and pecan pie skyrockets across the state. Jessie Lord Bakery Reviews
This establishment is one of the most disorganized and generally unclean environment. I was hired on as QA and during my first day there when i was being trained by other QA staff. The manager observed me getting training in the form of learning which forms needed to be printed for my shift. The manager made a complaint without talking to the team and saying 'the team was on their phones' on top of that the manager is so unprofessional he neglects basic needs of the team like updating forms that haven't been updated for the better of 2 years. He also actively avoids his employees and whenever they need training he tries to push it onto the poor overworked team members. The one time i asked him for training of a task he requested of me he was actively resisting and he also as he was showing me the training mutter a curse under his breath. as if it was so taxing to help out his team. He even talked back to me when i asked him where were the supplies we needed to hand out to the line workers going so far to as to tell me 'that is none of my business' when one of the supplies was crucial to complete the pre operations check of the facility. There are ants and cockroaches within the facility and within the kitchen where they cook the pie filings. On top of all that one of the employees on the late night shift takes hour long breaks and disappears for more than half of his shift leaving his responsibilities to another honest co worker. I absolutely pity anybody who wants a job under such neglectful and power absuive lead and manager.

November 04 · Vicky Virk 1984Truck driver entrance is on Torrence Street. Go slow you will miss it… Blindside back sucks but at least it has a room… No overnight parking I called last night and asked… The workers are extremely friendly yet professional which makes passing this place up twice worth it, who doesn’t like to be greeted with a smile.?? be prepared to slide your tandems… And eat something you will have some time I’m not sure how much yet they seem to be moving pretty fast My appointment was for 8 AM and they put me in the dock immediately… I posted more accurate pictures for location to you’ll have a better idea for driver entrance
November 22 · Truck’n Life With Lady BelleTook one scoop out of this apple wanna be pie and pulled out this blue piece of what I would guess is a rubber glove? I realize i look like a monster for not getting a slice from the pie. However this was the only way I could break threw the rock hard crust. Along with the rubber the only other thing on my fork was crust. Upon further inspection of this rock it contained literally 3 whole slices of apple. That being said even if it hadn't come with a colorful surprise there's no way I would have ate this bowl of crust.
November 29 · Polished_rockFOREIGN OBJECT IN PIE!!! My Dad and I will never buy a product from this bakery again. We had bought 3 Jessie Lord Pumpkin pies. The pie crust was pretty hard, definitely not a flakey crust. And it didn't taste great either. But the major issue was that 2 days ago my Dad bit into a piece of the pie and pulled a big piece of metal out of his mouth. It looks like it might be a piece of pie tin. And it's not from the pie tin of that pie, because it's fully intact. After seeing all the bad reviews of this company and seeing that several others found foreign objects in their pies, it's a wonder they're still even in business and haven't been shut down. I can't seem to find an option for adding a picture otherwise I would.
