Far more than just a bakery, Kozi Pie Shoppe is a full-service restaurant that has quickly established a devoted following across the state for its exceptional, scratch-made pies and comforting meals. Founded by chef Liz Lesser, a native of Minnesota who settled in Decorah in 2018, the shoppe has a history rooted in the local farmers markets, eventually growing into a dream storefront on Water Street in 2022. The foundation of Kozi Pie Shoppe’s success lies in its unwavering commitment to quality. Every pie, from the savory options to the decadent fruit and cream varieties, is made from scratch, with a strong focus on using the finest ingredients, often locally sourced and organic whenever available. Maybe even better," and specifically calling the key lime "the best she ever had." This high praise is a testament to Lesser’s passion, which grew from being the family’s "pie person" to becoming a celebrated chef and restaurateur in Northeast Iowa.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Tony and I enjoyed Easter brunch at Kozi Pie Shoppe in Decorah this morning. The variety of entrees, rounded out with a large selection of fresh baked goods is exactly what we wanted. Everything from three types of quiche to traditional Easter ham, pork loin smothered in mushroom gravy, bacon, leek soup to egg salad croissants and fresh fruit filled us up leaving little room for pie. We did not make reservations and were able to get in without waiting but will make reservations next year. A lot of yummy food for the price, $27 per person.
April 20 · Charlene Corson SelbeeStopped in for brunch on our way from the west coast to the east. Very good breakfast with excellent service. But oh my, the pie’s were amazing, just like my grandmother used to make. Maybe even better. My wife said the key lime was the best she ever had and I fell in love with the pecan. Bought a cheesecake to go (pictured).
March 15 · Lawrence GVery frustrating to plan a visit and find out it's closed despite website saying otherwise. No hours posted outside either. We even called 5 minutes before the 11am opening and only received a voicemail. We have found them open and loved the food, but will be hard to recommend to anyone though🙄
September 14 · Michelle DavisFantastic pies. I haven't tried them all but those I have were all top shelf. If you are a cheapskate it may be out of your price range. But you get what you pay for and if you know anything about baking, you will know how much quality ingredients' cost. The Father's day brunch they had was spectacular. There was such a wide variety I was unable to sample everything. But the things I tried were all excellent.
September 04 · Bob LarsonEverything was good for breakfast items. Got the BYO omelet and a breakfast burrito. Just wish the toppings of the omelet were cooked in with the egg and not just on top of the egg. The burrito was perfect though and had the perfect distribution of ingredients. Haven't tried the pie yet but I'll be back to give it a try. The lunch menu sounded good as well. The water station was nice to have so you could refill your water whenever. However the cups were looking a little cloudy which is probably just cause of dish detergent. It's a great spot though for a diner style breakfast.
