★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1This is a specialty Asian bakery that, while on the expensive side, is worth it because it tastes so high quality. The bakery itself is small with very very limited indoor seating. They sell cakes and lava buns.I tried the salted egg and pork floss lava bun and it was incredible. Better than I expected. The bun was very generously filled and bursting with flavor.I would have tried more at one time but the price point was a deterrent. Now that I know how amazing their lava bun can be, I will definitely be back to try their cakes and other flavors of lava bun.
April 22 · Jessica YangNice bakery with interesting desserts. I took home the Pistachio Cream Bun and The Crème Brulée Bun, they were both delicious. The service is good. The prices are reasonable. There isn't a large variety of desserts but what they have is good.
July 10 · Vivianne BarrettoThe scallion bread was SO dry, but I came in at 6pm (3hrs before closing), so I guess that’s understandable but for a ~$7 bun, I expected better. The taro bun texture was amazing but it wasn’t flavorful at all, but that’s all personal taste. Could only have a few bites before I got bored, but the texture really was wonderful. My friend loved it, esp when paired with a milk tea. I want to come back to try others, but maybe only early in the day to avoid dry buns since each is $6-7. I got the jasmine longan tea as well which was strong & good, but just tasted like a regular milk tea, so I probably wouldn’t pay the $8 again,
July 04 · Tina NguyenHighly recommend! Added to my list of favorite NYC bakeries that actually exceeded my expectations! Always skeptical of food places I find on Instagram & pretty critical when it comes to viet food.Scallion Sausage Bun$6.255/5Perfect balance of sweet and savory. It's like a swiss roll cake but savory and made with bread! The cream on the inside surprised me--I didn't expect it but it was exactly what the bun needed. No complaints.Pandan Coconut sticky rice cake$14.254.5/5Pricey for 1 serving of cake but it's still worth a try if you've never tried this combo before. Very soft, fluffy, and moist. My one suggestion is that they should add salt to the coconut cream to truly bring out the coconut flavor of the cream. That would make it 5/5.If they want to make it a 6/5, they should serve some sesame seeds or roasted peanuts on the side!I don't like cream puffs so I didn't get the lava buns but I might have to give it a try since everything else was so good!Maybe I'll request a cake from this bakery for my birthday :)P.S. They had less than 20 pastries left by 6:50 PM on Mother's Day so get there earlier for more varieties!
May 12 · Stephanie TranGot 2 lava buns, the pistachio and salted egg. They are very beautiful. I enjoyed the salted egg more. Pistachio was good, but didn't finish. Was too full to try the layered sticky rice desserts in the cube, but they looked very fancy. Staff was very friendly and helpful.
