La Madeleine Introduce
Introduction / Overview
For Floridians and visitors navigating the bustling travel hub of Central Florida, Orlando International Airport (MCO) can often feel like a culinary challenge. Fortunately, La Madeleine French Bakery & Café offers a distinctive and comforting European-inspired escape right within the airport environment. Identified simply as a “Bakery,” this establishment is, in fact, a celebrated national chain specializing in French-inspired cuisine, combining the fresh quality of a bakery with the convenience of a quick-service cafe. It brings a touch of the French countryside to the hectic pace of MCO, providing travelers with an alternative to standard fast-food fare.
La Madeleine's core identity revolves around classic French favorites. Customers can expect a full range of baked goods, including their signature butter croissants, French baguettes, and delicate pâtisserie items. However, the menu extends far beyond typical bakery sweets, encompassing breakfast, lunch, and dinner options. Signature items often found at this location include their famous Quiche Lorraine and Quiche Florentine, a variety of soups such as the renowned Tomato Basil Soupe, and classic French sandwiches like the Croque Monsieur.
The context of this particular location—9000 E Airport Blvd—is vital. Operating within a high-traffic airport terminal naturally influences the experience, which is why services like quick and efficient service are highlighted. Reviewers confirm this operational focus, noting that the service is "quick and efficient." While food and pricing expectations are adjusted for the airport environment—with one reviewer noting that high prices "is to be expected in an airport"—La Madeleine still manages to provide a surprisingly decent product. The quiche, for example, was noted as "surprisingly okay/decent," offering a lighter and more refined option compared to typical terminal food.
In summary, La Madeleine at MCO is an oasis for those seeking quality, French-inspired food while traveling through Florida. It is a dual-concept space: a bakery offering fresh bread and sweets, and a café providing satisfying French-style meals, all packaged for the speed and efficiency required by busy travelers. Despite some critiques typical of any high-volume airport location, its unique menu and dedicated service make it a valued option at MCO.

What is Worth Choosing
For Floridians and travelers navigating the Orlando International Airport, choosing La Madeleine is a decision to prioritize quality, variety, and efficiency over generic fast-food options. It is worth choosing for several compelling reasons, particularly given the unique constraints of airport dining.
The primary appeal is the unique culinary experience. In an environment often dominated by quick burgers and pizza, La Madeleine offers a taste of French refinement. The opportunity to grab a flaky, freshly baked butter croissant, a classic Croque Monsieur, or a slice of savory Quiche is a significant upgrade that can make a long travel day feel slightly more luxurious. The food is noted by customers as being "surprisingly okay/decent" for the challenging airport setting, which is high praise in that context.
Secondly, La Madeleine is a reliable choice for different types of meals. Whether you need an early-morning breakfast with a strong cup of coffee, a light soup and salad lunch, or a satisfying sandwich before a red-eye flight, the menu breadth covers all those needs. This versatility is crucial for travelers whose schedules are often dictated by flight times.
Finally, the confirmed service features—especially "Delivery" and the focus on "quick and efficient" service—make it an operationally smart choice. In an airport where time is critical, knowing you can rely on rapid service, or even have a meal delivered, offers peace of mind. While the price point is elevated, as one reviewer noted, this is an expected reality of airport vendors. For those who view quality and efficiency as worth the premium in a travel context, La Madeleine is the smart and pleasant option to break up the monotony of airport dining. It provides a familiar, comforting, and distinctly French culinary moment right here in Orlando, Florida.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1For airport food, not that bad. Quiche was surprisingly okay/decent (although almost nobody seemed to be ordering it). Sandwiches are also okay and very simple. However, the croissant sandwiches are deceptively small. All sandwiches are very pricey ($14 + tax for a sandwich that was 4 bites), although that is to be expected in an airport and they aren't completely stale. I also considered getting a soup but again nobody was ordering it and I noticed the "homemade' soups are in fact from a plastic bucket and expired. Service was quick and efficient.Overall, I would recommend if you're looking for a lighter meal and don't mind paying airport prices. I think the quiches are okay and the sandwiches pretty much taste how they look.
June 22 · WI ordered a hot chicken sandwich, Horrible expensive flavorless sandwich with barely any meat. Regret it. Should have gone to burger king instead.
July 13 · Fred GarciaHello travelers. I tried Florentine Quiche here and it was good, I added mayo though. Good size and feels enough for one person. Oh yes, I also grab a coffee which was normal. Solid breakfast options. Just don’t eat to much and you’ll be good, maybe even fly
