Little T American Baker Introduce
For well over a decade, Little T American Baker has stood as a cornerstone of Portland’s world-class culinary scene, particularly renowned for pushing the boundaries of what an artisan bakery can be. Located in the vibrant SE Division Street neighborhood, this establishment is celebrated for fusing European baking traditions with a distinct American and Pacific Northwest sensibility. The guiding philosophy is simple yet profound: to create the best bread and pastry possible by prioritizing the highest quality ingredients, meticulous science, and genuine passion.
The bakery’s reputation is built on an unwavering commitment to quality sourcing. Little T actively celebrates the bounty of Oregon by working closely with local growers and vendors. This includes using local grains, often milled at local mills, to ensure the freshest and most flavorful flour—a core element of their success. This dedication to local, high-quality sourcing is evident in every bite, from the crackly crust of their famous baguettes to the complex flavor of their seasonal pastries. Customers often note that the use of small local brands like Ranger Chocolate Co. and Jacobsen Salt makes their products "taste extra special."
Beyond the exceptional baked goods, Little T functions as a welcoming neighborhood café, offering solid coffee from local roasters, a selection of unique teas, and a thoughtful menu of satisfying breakfast and lunch items. Whether you are craving a buttery, flaky croissant or a hearty sandwich served on one of their signature pretzel rolls, Little T provides a reliable, high-quality, and deeply flavorful experience for the Oregon community.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I've been coming here for years but had a little hiatus before returning recently. They've always been adventurous in their baking approach & flour choices but right now I think they're at their height of flavor and skill. Beautiful lamination, thoughtful seasonal specials, and I appreciate that they offer both baked goods and substantial & delicious breakfast and lunch options. A treat!
May 09 · Amy FrancoThis is becoming one of my favorite bakeries in the city!🫶🏼 Great variety of baked goods. I love how they source the best quality ingredients from small local brands like Ranger Chocolate Co. and Jacobsen Salt which makes their products taste extra special✨. The croissant is tender, flaky, and buttery; the brownie is soft and rich; the coffee cake is hearty and indulgent; and the peanut brittle cookie is crispy, chewy and addictive! I‘ve been here twice so far and loved everything I ordered except for the coffee (from Puff) which tastes burnt. Will be back for breads and pretty much every other pastry 👌🏼
July 03 · Snacking in SaudiThe best baguette outside of France! I don't know how they do it, but these have the wonderful taste and texture of genuine French bread that doesn't dry out overnight. My only wish is that the bakery was open past 2pm at least one day a week, pretty please?! It's so difficult to get to the wonderful bread and other baked delights with such restricted daytime hours.
July 14 · Clair FosterHands down the best quality bread in the Portland metro area. It reminds me of what you get at good bakeries in Germany. Two things:1. Provide reusable (for here) plates, cups, and utensils2. Open up a downtown Vancouver (WA) location!!
June 27 · Jason CromerOh my. Lox on spelt bread was decadent. Tanglewood chai was full of yummy spices. Carrot coconut muffin was so moist and a good kind of crumbly....that was amazing. They were crazy busy for a Sunday morning but were ploughing through orders very efficiently (eesh they were working hard).❤️☕❤️❤️❤️❤️
