Long Beach Bread Lab Introduce
Long Beach, California, has long been at the forefront of a burgeoning food renaissance, and a key player in this movement is the innovative world of fermentation. At the intersection of expertly crafted artisan bread and community-focused cuisine, you will find the celebrated Long Beach Bread Lab. While well-known as the offspring of the pioneering Long Beach Beer Lab, this establishment has forged its own identity as a premier destination for sourdough, freshly baked goods, and wholesome grab-and-go options for locals and visitors alike. It's a true neighborhood gem that speaks to the heart of Southern California's demand for high-quality, handcrafted food.
Co-founded by Harmony Sage, a certified Artisan Bread Baker, the Bread Lab is a testament to the meticulous and passionate application of fermentation science. Harmony's expertise in working with yeast and grain is evident in every loaf of bread and every pastry, creating a distinctly 'Long Beach' flavor profile. This deep commitment to the process is what elevates their offerings beyond a simple bakery, creating a dedicated following in the greater Southern California area. It's a must-visit location for anyone who appreciates the deep flavor and superior texture that only comes from true artisan methods.
What makes the Long Beach Bread Lab concept so compelling is its connection to the larger 'Lab' family. The same unique yeast culture, famously harvested from fruit skins in a local Bixby Knolls backyard, is a crucial ingredient in both the bakery's signature sourdough and the sibling brewery's experimental beers. This symbiotic relationship between brewing and baking ensures a consistent philosophy of quality and scientific curiosity across both venues. While the Long Beach Beer Lab locations on Willow Street and East Anaheim Street offer a full brewery experience, the Long Beach Bread Lab kiosk focuses specifically on daytime fare, bringing their acclaimed baked goods and fresh food to a wider community.
For Californians seeking out the best of the local food scene, a stop at the Bread Lab promises an experience that is both authentic and delicious, standing as a proud beacon of Long Beach’s culinary innovation.

They have a grab and go fridge with bento boxes, and cold drinks. The pastry is phenomenal and baked fresh daily. The bread is all sourdough and our of this world. So thankful to have this option at the hospital.
August 26 · Harmony Sagemenu is SUPER basic.. they close early. concept is good but location is all wrong.. like people are going to flock to the hospital for bread? The visitors who come here need real food or at least decent snacks and beverages...especially since the cafeteria is closed due to covid.
