The local buzz and customer reviews consistently point to the quality of the laminated pastries and the artisan bread. The croissants are highly recommended—whether you opt for the classic butter, the rich chocolate, or the savory ham and cheese, which one customer perfectly described as the love child of a grilled ham and cheese and a perfect croissant.

Beyond the baked goods, the coffee program is worth exploring. While the bread and pastries are the main draw, the espresso drinks are consistently rated as surprisingly great. The salted caramel iced latte, for example, is noted as being a divine accompaniment to the baked treats. Finally, take a moment to peruse the small, yet thoughtfully stocked market section. It’s the perfect place to grab a local honey, a specialty oil, or fresh produce from Bloomsbury Farm to complement your newly purchased loaf of bread, completing the "bread and things that go with bread" experience that Mama Bread does so well.
Mama Bread offers a truly delightful experience for the Tennessee community. With its dedication to freshness, quality ingredients, and a warm, inviting atmosphere, it has secured its place as a necessary stop for anyone who appreciates the craft of exceptional baking.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Mama Bread may be the best new bakery and coffee shop in town! I went on a Wednesday morning around 10:30 and they were already halfway sold out of all of their bread and good pastries - I was shocked, as they have signs that state that bread doesn’t come out until 10! I got a Morning Bun that tasted of brown sugar and orange zest. It was absolutely delicious and the perfect combination of fluffy and flakey. I also tried a salted caramel iced latte that was divine. I loved that they also had an area with some fresh produce and other food items for sale. The seating area was super cute, and would be perfect for those who want to do a little work at a nearby coffee shop! I also adored the blue exterior of the building, as it is a stunning color!
September 14 · Alex KnodelHeard whispers about this spot poolside at Soho House yesterday, and naturally had to check it out. Very glad I did.The vibe is chef’s kiss — tucked into a cute neighborhood, with a little market inside stocked with some fresh produce, meats, cookbooks, even candy (all perfectly aesthetic packaging, of course). It feels like someone curated it straight out of a design mood board.Since they just opened yesterday, they are limit in things to one pastry per person (probably smart, because otherwise I’d have walked out with a mountain of croissants). We grabbed the ham & cheese croissant and the morning bun. The croissant? Imagine a buttery, crispy grilled ham & cheese sandwich had a love child with a perfectly laminated croissant. Absolute perfection. The morning bun? Divine—layers of caramelized sugar, cinnamon, and orange zest that basically made me want to lick my fingers in public. We didn’t try the bread loaves (travel problems), but overheard the fresh batch hits the shelves at 10am—worth timing your visit if you’re local.Family-friendly, staff were genuinely friendly, and while there was a line, it moved quickly. Espresso was surprisingly great too (not what I came for, but happy bonus). And the space is full of thoughtful little touches—yes, even down to the custom hand soap. All in all, it feels like Nashville just got itself a new carb temple. Highly recommend.
August 17 · Genna GWhen I found out a bakery was moving in to this building I was SO EXCITED and it is better than I could have hoped! The bread here is probably the best bread I've ever had! Every pastry I've tried has been SO delicious, I can't wait to try them all (like tomorrow??)The owners Jenn and Evan are so sweet and genuine and it shows that they truly care about improving the neighborhood. This is a place for locals to gather and grab a fresh sourdough loaf or other great items from their market area and fresh produce fridge and see a friendly face every time! The cafe and outdoor seating area is beautiful and spacious, perfect to meet a friend or read a book while you drink some Heart espresso (one of my faves) and have a flaky warm pastry. Nashville has needed more bakeries for years and this is a perfect addition to east Nashville! Long Live Mama Bread!
August 15 · Stephanie ReimanMy new local spot and truly love it so much. The morning buns and breakfast sandwiches hit the spot. I also got the morning bun latte (recommended by the owner) and was pleasantly surprised. I might be hooked. We also got a loaf of sourdough to go!
