I’ve been coming to this French bakery for years with my family—even making trips from out of town specifically to stop here. Sadly, our visit today left us disappointed enough that I felt compelled to leave this review.We stopped in for lunch and ordered two salads ($15 and $14), each of which came with a small piece of bread. After paying and sitting down, we realized no butter was provided. When we politely asked for a small pat of butter, we were told there would be an additional $1 charge. This, despite the fact that we’d already spent nearly $50 between the salads, a few cinnamon buns, and some croissants.What’s most frustrating isn’t the dollar—it’s the principle and the attitude of the staff. Their refusal felt unnecessary and surprisingly rude, especially considering this is supposed to be a warm, welcoming bakery. Something as simple as a pat of butter to accompany the bread you serve shouldn’t be treated like a luxury item, especially not for loyal customers.Unfortunately, it seems the customer service here has shifted, and not for the better. We’ve always loved coming here, but after today’s experience, I’m not sure we’ll be back.

Wonderful place - first sampled their fruit tarts at a local business fair. We came here on a weekend morning for cold brew coffee and an almond croissant which were delicious. Place is very neat and nice inside. It smells amazing when you walk in the door. Display cases look great too with so many options. It can be overwhelming at first but if you just walk alongside the display, you will find something you like. They have different combo meal discounts. There are salads, sandwiches, bread loaves, and lots of pastries plus lattes. There was seating on the rooftop although we did not go. Staff were very polite and quick to serve us. We will definitely be returning.

Our friends recommended us the Marie Blachere location in Manhattan and we visited the Great Neck location on our way to Garden City. The decor is wide-spaced and cozy with a lot of indoor & outdoor seating. The environment and ambiance is perfect as a place for breakfast or afternoon tea.Their pastry & bread options were various and we had 4 different pastries: Almond Croissant, Sugar Brioche, Blueberry Scone & Cinnamon roll. The pastries were overall not memorable and the price was kind of high with its portion in our opinions. Our favorite was the Sugar Brioche, which is soft & puffy but the delicacy of its texture wasn’t comparable with our other go-to bakeries.

We bought a baguette, almond croissant, chocolate croissant, a tranche of apple & peach puff, savory croissant with smoked salmon. The almond croissant has generous amount of filling. It could use a bit more almond flour. I think they used almond extract, a bit of almond flour & some starch to thicken the base along with some butter. It's better than the French Workshop. The croissant is flaky.Had the baguette the next morning. Toasted it & put apricot marmalade on it. Crust is still crusty & center is still soft & moist, although it's not as flaky as I remembered from Paris. The center is still too dense but still retains the character of a good baguette.
