★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Been back several times, and all the baked goods, tamales and now tortas on offer have been good. The new tortas will cost more than your typical torta around here, but they're huge and come with your choice of four delicious breads (even if sourdough seemed not ideal for torta construction to me). The baked goods are a mix of the familiar (croissants, excellent conchas) and less seen (flat aguacatas, for example). Tamales are more tender than the ones you'll find on the street. And the service is friendly. Discount if you pay cash.
April 27 · Dave Ei loved all the bakes on my first visit. the cranberry walnut sourdough was absolutely delightful. conchas were one of the softest we had. mexican chocolate croissant could have more chocolate to it, but super flaky. (03/01)on my next visit (03/06), i got the same loaf, some doughnuts, cheese danish and dulce de leche buttercake. the doughnuts was super duper good, especially the chocolate one. cheese danish - i expected it to be sweeter, but it was leaning towards the saltier side. the dulce de leche buttercake, i’m abit confused with this. i believe it is supposed to be soft, light and fluffy but this was almost like a biscuit, tho the dulce filling was delicious, it should be filled more. because of how crumbly, scone-like this buttercake was, at the end, you’d only be coated with taste of the buttercake, not the divine dulce de leche. and unfortunately, the loaf is not as great as the first time. it was way denser, flatter, and slightly drier. (you could see the difference in the photos) i was pretty disappointed with this round’s purchase.i hope whoever baked the loaves the first round consistently does it, cause it is perfect!i will still comeback and try the bakes you offer, just letting you know my experience during my visit. thank you :)
March 09 · S BThe atmosphere of this place is wonderful. I got the vanilla concha, chocolate concha, regular croissant, and Mexican chocolate croissant. All very delicious. I was taste testing with my grandma who is also Mexican and she loved everything. The conchas were fluffy, the croissant was perfectly flakey and soft at the same time, and the Mexican chocolate in the croissant wasn’t too sweet which I loved. I’m definitely coming back another time to try more!
April 18 · Nicole RecaldeAn artisanal bakery selling conchas. I'm no concha expert, but I do love a sweet bread whatever the ethnicity (diversity in sweet bread enjoyment is crucial). These are very good to my non-expert taste buds. And affordable at about $2.50 each.
May 16 · Lisa WilliamsAbsolutely worth a two hour trip! I love the cornbread. I actually ate it in the car along with the pan de queso , the best I’ve ever had.The piedra was interesting very tasty. I love the notes of chocolate… The donut was light fluffy and delicious.
