For residents across Pennsylvania looking for quality, honest, and truly local bread, Merzbacher’s offers an experience that is both exceptional and practical for daily life. This deep commitment to craft and connection ensures that every loaf—from their naturally leavened Citywide Sourdough to their innovative signatures—brings quality and flavor to everyday moments, whether it's for a quick morning toast or a shared family dinner.
Their dedication is evident in their sourcing practices. They are committed to using 100% locally milled flour from Pennsylvania, strengthening the regional food system by partnering with mills like Snavely's in Lititz and sourcing cornmeal from Haldeman Mills in Manheim. This local focus ensures a freshness and flavor that distinguishes their products in the broader marketplace. When you choose a loaf from Merzbacher's, you are choosing quality ingredients backed by regional pride and a team of dedicated craftspeople who believe artisan quality should be accessible to everyone.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I came today after seeing the listing for.Good to GoI wouldn't be able to pick up for tomorrow and saw that they opened at 4pm. It took a minute to figure out the exact location. The bread is warm and fragrant. I can tell its going to be delicious. I usually get my sourdough from Trader Joe's and love to make fresh homegrown tomato sandwiches with it. Decided to try Merzbachers and see what the French toast loaf was about since I'm craving French toast. The only complaint I have is that my sweet potato Pullman got smooshed and flattened cause it was at the bottom of the bag. No bueno.
July 21 · Nik D.I got the Merzbacher's Sweet Potato Pullman bread. 😍 Never stop making this!! Amazing toasted! ❣️ Purchased at Kimberton's in Ottsville, PA. So good!! Will need to let their management know to keep ordering it. Just wonderful!!
September 11 · Elaine DeJesusWow, I saw your business highlighted on FOX29 this morning. I realized your company makes my favorite “Everything Philly Muffins”. I live in South Jersey and discovered your bread at MOMs Organic Market in Cherry Hill. I am so disappointed when I go shopping and it’s sold out. I would love to try your “Sweet Potato” bread. I haven’t seen that at MOMs, I have to ask MOMs manager to increase their selections and orders with you. Thanks for making good, wholesome breads.
March 05 · LindaWhere else can you get fresh hot bread straight from a little side window? Everyone is so nice here and the bread is delicious. Get the focaccia!
