Do NOT go here! They are known for making up their prices, which is exactly why there aren't prices are posted on items in store. Read previous reviews on here, or ask others who have gone- all agree. They also burn their pies. (Picture attached)We were charged $110 back in Christmas for an Italian cream pie and 6 MINI pastries. We said there must be a mistake, so the owner offered a complementary pie when we called her out for making up her ridiculous prices. LOOK HOW BURNT THE CRUST IS! This bakery is WAY overpriced, and they are known for making up different prices each time. I am shocked at how they are still in business. Owner is cocky about her "beautiful pies that are stuffed more than other bakeries which is why the cost is high", but clearly has an oven issue over cooking them. See picture for proof. Have been a valued customer for many years, but unfortunately we are sick of the constant issues and will not be returning here. This is the first negative review I have ever written, I am shocked the place is still in business. - Melissa

Milani Italian Pastry & Bakery Introduce

Milani Italian Pastry & Bakery, located in Northford, Connecticut, is a local establishment that has received notable attention from community members. The bakery has been a topic of discussion among customers, with many sharing their experiences. It is situated in the heart of the Northford community, and its reputation for being a small, local business has drawn in a variety of customers over time. The bakery's offerings are intended to provide a taste of Italian pastry and baked goods to the Connecticut region. However, public reviews indicate a pattern of dissatisfaction among some patrons. The feedback highlights a number of issues that have led to a less-than-positive perception of the establishment. These concerns revolve around pricing practices, the quality of the products, and customer service. It is important for potential customers to be aware of these reported experiences when considering a visit. The bakery's business practices, particularly the lack of posted prices on items, have been a recurring point of contention. This has led to accusations of inconsistent and inflated pricing. For example, one customer reported being charged a high amount for a pie and a small number of pastries, which led to a confrontation with the owner. The response to this situation, according to the customer, was a defensive one, with the owner attributing the high cost to the perceived quality and stuffing of their pies. This interaction, along with others, has led to a sense of distrust among some who have visited the bakery. The quality of the baked goods themselves has also been a major source of disappointment for some customers. Reports of burnt pies and rock-hard, stale bread are frequently mentioned in online reviews. A specific instance involved a customer purchasing a stuffed sausage and broccoli bread for a significant price, only to find it to be of poor quality and a waste of money. The instructions given for reheating the bread did not salvage the product, leading to further frustration. The customer expressed a deep sense of disappointment, noting that they are typically a strong supporter of small businesses but felt that this bakery was not delivering on its promise of quality. The overall sentiment from these reviews is one of shock and disbelief that the business continues to operate with these recurring issues. This feedback serves as a cautionary tale for those in the community who are looking to support local businesses, urging them to be mindful of their purchases. The consistent negative experiences shared by multiple customers, some of whom were long-time patrons, suggest a deeper issue with the bakery's operations and quality control. This is a crucial point for anyone considering visiting Milani Italian Pastry & Bakery, as it highlights a pattern of unreliability in both pricing and product quality. The level of frustration expressed in these reviews is very high, with customers feeling cheated and let down by what they had hoped would be a reliable local bakery. The bakery's response to these complaints, as described in the reviews, has not been effective in resolving the issues, leading to a permanent loss of once-valued customers. The attached picture of a burnt pie crust serves as visual evidence supporting the claims of overcooked products, further solidifying the negative feedback. The reviews collectively paint a picture of a business struggling with consistency and customer satisfaction, a stark contrast to what a local, community-focused bakery should be. The lack of transparency in pricing and the alleged poor quality of the products are significant red flags for potential customers. The bakery's continued operation in the face of such strong negative feedback is a point of confusion for many in the community who have shared their stories. It is clear from these accounts that a visit to Milani Italian Pastry & Bakery comes with a degree of risk, and customers are advised to proceed with caution.

Milani Italian Pastry & Bakery is situated at 855 Forest Rd #4409, Northford, CT 06472, USA. The location is part of a larger area, and its presence in Northford makes it a local business for residents in that specific part of Connecticut. The address is fairly specific, indicating it is within a particular building or complex. For locals, finding the bakery would likely be a simple matter of navigating to this address. However, accessibility is a double-edged sword. While it is accessible to those in the immediate vicinity, it's also a location that has drawn in customers who have later expressed significant dissatisfaction. The location itself does not have a reputation for being difficult to reach, but the experiences of those who have made the trip have been far from ideal. The physical address is a simple point of reference, but the reputation of the business at that location is what truly defines its accessibility in the minds of the community. The repeated negative reviews, regardless of how easy it is to physically get there, act as a barrier to new customers and a reason for former customers not to return. Therefore, while the location is physically accessible, the business's reputation makes it less accessible in a social and practical sense for those who value fair pricing and quality products. The fact that the bakery is located in Northford means that it primarily serves that community and surrounding areas, and the negative feedback has a concentrated impact on its local reputation. The address is a central point for these experiences, both positive and, as the reviews suggest, overwhelmingly negative. The accessibility of the location is a given, but the willingness of customers to access it has been significantly diminished by the reported issues. It's a place that is easy to find but, for many, is no longer worth finding due to the consistent problems with pricing and product quality. The simple address is a fixed point, but the customer perception of that point is in constant flux, and in this case, it has been trending in a very negative direction.

Based on the provided information, the services offered by Milani Italian Pastry & Bakery include a variety of baked goods and pastries. However, customer feedback highlights specific products and related issues. The services include:

  • The sale of Italian cream pies, which have been a subject of controversy due to their high cost and alleged burnt crusts.
  • The sale of mini pastries, which have been included in large-scale transactions that customers feel are overpriced.
  • The sale of stuffed bread, such as the sausage and broccoli bread, which has received extremely negative reviews for being stale, hard, and of poor quality.
  • Owner-provided instructions for reheating products, which were deemed ineffective by a customer who purchased the stuffed bread.
  • The practice of selling baked goods without posting prices, which has been cited as a major issue leading to inconsistent pricing.
  • The provision of customer service by the owner, which has been described as "cocky" and unhelpful in resolving pricing disputes.

The features and highlights of Milani Italian Pastry & Bakery, as gleaned from customer reviews, are primarily negative points of caution for potential buyers. These include:

  • A reputation for inconsistent and unposted pricing, with customers reporting being charged different amounts for the same products.
  • A pattern of overcooking or burning products, specifically mentioned in reference to pie crusts.
  • The use of low-quality ingredients, as described in a review about the stale and "rock hard" stuffed bread with "poor quality" sausage and broccoli.
  • A dismissive attitude from the owner towards customer complaints regarding pricing, with one review noting the owner’s "cocky" defense of her prices.
  • The bakery's longevity, which is a point of shock for some customers given the recurring negative experiences.
  • The practice of offering a "complementary pie" as a way to address pricing complaints, which did not resolve the core issue for the customer.
  • A general feeling among customers that the business is not a good value and that there is a "buyer beware" situation.

For contact information, Milani Italian Pastry & Bakery is located at 855 Forest Rd #4409, Northford, CT 06472, USA. They can be reached by phone at (203) 484-5017. These details are publicly available for anyone who wishes to contact the business. However, based on customer reviews, potential patrons should exercise caution when engaging with the bakery regarding pricing or product quality.

In conclusion, based on the comprehensive feedback from multiple customers, Milani Italian Pastry & Bakery may not be a suitable choice for locals in the Connecticut region who are seeking a reliable and high-quality bakery. The consistent reports of inflated and inconsistent pricing, coupled with severe concerns about the quality of the products—such as burnt pies and stale bread—create a highly negative impression. The lack of transparency regarding pricing is a significant red flag, and the described customer service from the owner has been a source of frustration and disappointment for patrons. While many people in the community want to support small businesses, the shared experiences of feeling taken advantage of and receiving low-quality goods make it difficult to recommend this establishment. For locals who prioritize fair pricing, delicious products, and a positive customer experience, the public reviews suggest that Milani Italian Pastry & Bakery is a place to approach with extreme caution. The numerous negative testimonials from both long-time and first-time customers indicate a serious and ongoing issue with the bakery's operational standards, making it an unsuitable option for those seeking a trustworthy local bakery.
