The unique identity of Milk Belly Bakery shines through its menu, which blends familiar American breakfast favorites with vibrant, often Filipino-inspired, flavors and techniques. The core product, the fresh and soft bread (likely Shokupan, as suggested by customer feedback), forms the canvas for masterful creations. Diners rave about the unique offerings, such as the "INSANE" Ube scone, the delicate Pandan mochi cake, and the "crazy refreshing, bright and flavorful" chicken salad. The menu is bold and diverse, ranging from the globally inspired Birria Grilled Cheese Sando to the local favorite Avocado Toast, catering to every taste while injecting fun and creativity into every dish. The high quality is consistent, with every item praised as "so SO good," making it clear that a higher price point is perceived as genuinely "worth it" by the local community.

September 26 · Dooo Oh yeah this place was gas !!!!!!! spent $100.. but worth it!EXPERIENCE:we came in 11am saturday on labor day weekend and thankfully came right before the noon rush bc woww that line was out the door after we ordered. Parked like a 1min walk away in the ParkSJ garage, free for 90 min. Our entire stay (we ate inside too) was about 1 hr, so didnt have to pay. As soon as we stepped inside, we were surprised at how warm and inviting it felt. Great atmosphere and decor. Super cool that the menu was inspired by the owner’s child/children, loved the baby pictures on the wall. After we ordered, we were lucky to immediately find an open table. The wait wasnt that long for the food + drinks. We ordered take out but ended up eating inside! They do have proper plates if you order dine-in.STAFF:patient and helpful!the tall guy who took our order was patient while we floundered around with our order and answered our questions about the menu as much as he can. Didnt rush us even though there was a line behind us, and lightheartedly laughed with us when I balked at the total price.the guy with the cool piercings who gave us our order was really nice too! in our big order there was only 1 mistake, which was that the iced matcha cloud had normal matcha foam instead of the turon cream that we replaced it with when ordering. the guy took the drink back and fixed it immediately and fast which was great!FOOD:Wow. Umm so good yeah. Please look at the pictures, but the pictures dont do it justice. We got:Fruit sandoLonganisa sandoAvocado toastPotato tostonesIced yuzu sweet teaIced matcha cloud with turon creamIced dirty hojicha latte with peanut butter creamUbe sconePandan mochi cakeHojicha polvoron…you can see how I spent $100 now. Technically for 3 people, me and my cousin just ate our share in the bakery.Everything was so good and I love all the filipino flavors and fusions.Fruit sando - had strawberries, so light, fluffy, brings out the softness of the shokupan, toasted almonds on the sides make it amazing. 10/10Longanisa sando - filling, stacked with eggs, longanisa with cheese is new to me but still good, missing a kick, added hot sauce from the bar and it got even better. 7.5/10 no hotsauce 9/10 hotsauced.Avocado toast - i didnt try this one, it was for my girlfriend. But she said it was good! 10/10Potato tostones - 10/10/10/10!!! so crunchy, crispy, so many packed into one box, soft on the inside. Even better hotsauced. 10/10 no hotsauce 11/10 hotsauced.Iced yuzu sweet tea - sweet, not overwelmingly acidic, like a splash of lemon! 10/10Iced matcha cloud with turon cream - Literally like a banana cream matcha latte, but smoother, creamier. Really yum, but my cousin didnt finish it. 9/10.Iced dirty hojicha latte with peanut butter cream - I had no problem finishing this. Dirty hojichas are my favorite drink and I was happy to see this on the menu. The peanut butter cream made it even better to me, it was rich and heavy, but I get if some people arent a fan. 10/10/10 coming back for it.Ube sconePandan mochi cakeHojicha polvoronI cant fairly rate the pastries because I let them sit and tried them end of day, and the mochi made the other two soft. But they were still good and I want to try them again one day! Pandan mochi cake is definitely #1 for now.OVERALL:awesome!!! cool place ! great food! i want to get the classic shokupan next time but they were sold out by 11am 😢 anyways Im coming back for you milk belly……
September 05 · Chanelle RocesMust go! If you’re nostalgic for a Japanese egg sando, you must stop by here. The fluffy egg salad along with the cloud-like milk bread, brings you straight back to Japan! Not only that, everything else here is so good. This spot is more than just bread, they have awesome sandwiches, pastries, and range of drinks. We also tried the Lox No Bagel with the Sesame bread. The sandwich was juicy with fresh veggies that complements the lox. The bread was so moist and soft even after it was nicely browned on the flat top. It was flavorful yet healthy. Then the spam ham egg was as pleasing as it sounds. Hits the spot. The Vietnamese coffee was like a treat (creamy with a gentle punch of roasty coffee). Can’t wait to come back! Extra kudos to the staff and owner. They were so kind even as busy as they were. Attentive to tables and guests!
August 30 · Lily V ChaeAmazing sandwiches. The green machine with chili crisp is well balanced and the fruit sando is delightful, not too sweet but creamy and juicy. It gets very crowded.Update 6/14/2025: They also have amazing bread. I finally got my hands on them. They run out quickly. Shokupan and sourdough are great. They have unique sourdough flavors.
June 14 · Rajalaxmi RajagopalanWe went here on a Saturday a few minutes after opening. There were a few people in front of us. The ordering was pretty quick. There are only a few tables inside, but we were able to get one. Our order was ready in about 10 minutes. We ordered the japanese sando 4/5. It had one boiled egg and mayo. The bread was great. Similar to the bread in Japan.Longanisa sando 5/5. This was on toast. The longanisa patty was a good portion. The egg was amazing. It's the japanese folded omelet. This is a must try.The Hong Kong milk toast was just what you would expect. Peanut butter with condensed milk.We also got the bread pudding. It was good. The fresh bread is the secretI will be coming back.
