Mozzicato De Pasquale Bakery And Pastry Shop Introduce
Mozzicato De Pasquale Bakery and Pastry Shop is a well-known name in the Connecticut baking scene, with a history rooted in Italian tradition. The bakery's story began in 1968 when Gino Mozzicato immigrated from Italy, bringing his expertise and passion for baking to the United States. In 1973, he and his wife, Gisella, founded Mozzicato Pastry Shop in Hartford, specializing in cakes, pastries, and cookies. A few years later, in 1975, they acquired the neighboring DePasquale Bakery, which had been in operation since 1908 and was known for its breads and rolls. By combining these two distinct product lines, the family created the Mozzicato De Pasquale Bakery and Pastry Shop as it is known today. The commitment to quality, product authenticity, and customer service has established the bakery as a long-standing institution in the state, with its reputation built on a foundation of traditional Italian baking.
Over the years, Mozzicato has expanded its presence, now serving the wider Connecticut community with several locations. The Rocky Hill location is one of these extensions, bringing the same legacy and wide array of Italian baked goods to a convenient spot for local residents. The bakery's commitment to its heritage is visible in its selection of classic Italian pastries, which draw customers in for a taste of authentic tradition. While the bakery has received recognition over the years from various publications, it's the consistent service to the community that has allowed it to grow and maintain its presence across the state.
However, like any business with a long history, customer experiences can vary. Some recent feedback from local patrons has highlighted concerns regarding both service and product freshness. One customer review expressed a deeply negative experience, citing unhelpful and rude service, along with a perception that the food was not fresh. Another review echoed the sentiment about freshness, noting that while the place "looks amazing to the eye," the taste did not live up to the expectation of a fresh local bakery. These experiences, though not universal, are a part of the bakery's current customer feedback landscape and reflect a range of opinions about the business.

Mozzicato De Pasquale Bakery And Pastry Shop Reviews
I wish i could put a zero. Possibly one of the worst services I’ve received in all of Connecticut. The lady working there was unhelpful and extremely rude (A racist? Highly likely )Now the food was DEFINITELY not fresh at-least 2 days old. I left it as is. My tea took 14 minutes to come out (even though there was no one else ordering). When we left she was laughing with her coworker watching us, i felt like i was in high-school. I sincerely hope she gets the day she deserves for the rest of her life. :))))))
June 07 · Leena .AWe bought some cakes and cookies from them everything was alright they weren’t fresh though. The place looks amazing to the eye but doesn’t taste as good as a local bakery. I rate it two stars and it took a long time before they were able to help us.
June 15 · Jessica VenturaThis place was recommended to us by locals as an institution with the best espresso. Yes, esprosso and other drinks were great. Pastries and desserts I do not recommend. We were a group of several people and were able to try almost everything that was in the store and took something with us. Desserts are dry and tasteless...looks stale or may not have been stored properly
May 16 · Laura CDon’t even bother coming to this headache of a bakery. I ordered a couple of pastries and 16 cookies last night and no cookies came in the box. Came back in today to get the cookies that were paid for but not given and they told me that the cookies today were more expensive. What?? So we had to choose from a selection we didn’t want nor originally order. We got to 5 cookies and she told us there would be an additional charge if we got more. Keep in mind we PAID for 16 cookies. Ridiculous. Avoid at all costs this place
March 27 · Britt VStarting your day with racism is an ugly way to live, but I digress. The woman working was so unkind in her demeanor and purposefully chose to delay serving us. The food was obviously old, i asked her if she could heat it up for me and she took the plate in silence giving it back only after asking twice where the food was. Coffee was disgusting and calling Italian is an insult to all of Italy.May the way she lives come back to her in full circle.Never coming back btw lol.
