My Hiep Bakery Introduce
Introduction / Overview
For those living in or visiting Southern California, particularly the vibrant Orange County area, My Hiep Bakery stands out as a dedicated destination for authentic Asian baked goods and specialty foods. Located in Westminster, CA, this establishment has built a reputation centered on offering a wide variety of traditional items, catering heavily to cultural celebrations and everyday treats. The bakery serves as a crucial resource for locals seeking authentic Vietnamese delicacies, particularly during seasonal events when specific items like Mooncakes are in high demand.
My Hiep Bakery is recognized primarily as a Bakery, yet its menu extends well beyond simple pastries to include a spectrum of goods that cater to both sweet and savory palates, often with a focus on items ideal for gifting or larger family gatherings. While many modern bakeries adopt a fast-casual café model, My Hiep Bakery maintains a focus on production and takeout convenience, geared towards customers who know exactly what they want or are stocking up on specialty items. The business is geared toward a Quick visit, making it easy to grab your order and go, a necessary feature for busy California life.
It is important for potential customers to note that while the bakery is popular, especially for its ceremonial and holiday items such as Bánh Trung Thu (Mooncakes), customer feedback is mixed. While some appreciate the traditional nature and variety of the offerings, other reviews indicate concerns regarding product freshness, particularly with high-value seasonal purchases, and the intensity of the flavor profiles, with some finding certain items "toooooo sweet" or the aroma "overly strong." These mixed reports emphasize the importance of inspecting purchases, especially large or expensive orders, immediately after buying. The bakery also operates with a Cash-only policy, which is a crucial detail for planning a visit.
My Hiep Bakery is a key player in the local specialty food landscape, serving a community deeply connected to its cultural roots. It provides an essential link to traditional flavors and celebratory foods that are often difficult to find elsewhere.

What is Worth Choosing
If you are considering a visit to My Hiep Bakery, you are likely looking for unique, authentic products not typically found in conventional bakeries. Here are the items that define this Westminster local spot:
- The Mooncakes (Bánh Trung Thu): This is arguably the bakery’s flagship item. They offer a vast selection, including exotic and traditional fillings like Ngũ Nhân Thập Cẩm (mixed nuts and roasted meats), Hột Sen (lotus seed paste), Khoai Môn (Taro), and varieties containing salted duck egg yolks. If you are celebrating the Mid-Autumn Festival or seeking a classic Vietnamese delicacy, this is the primary reason to shop here. Due to past customer feedback regarding freshness, it is highly advisable to visually inspect Mooncakes at the time of purchase, especially when buying in bulk or for gifts.
- Packaged Traditional Snacks: The bakery is an excellent source for non-perishable Vietnamese treats for stocking the pantry. Look for items like Bánh Chao (sweet shortbread) or Bánh Quai Vạt Đậu Xanh (mung bean pastries). These items are often sold in bulk packages, making them cost-effective options for families or for those who want to try a variety of snacks.
- In-Store Specialty Cakes: For those looking for fresh, uniquely textured desserts, the cakes available only in-store, such as Bánh Khoai Mì Nướng or Bánh Da Lợn Mix, are worth exploring. These represent traditional flavors and preparations that showcase the bakery's authentic culinary focus.
Important Note on Flavor and Payment: Patrons should be aware that the traditional preparation of some Asian desserts often results in a flavor profile that is notably richer, sweeter, and more fragrant than typical Western baked goods. If you prefer mildly sweet desserts, proceed with caution or choose smaller portions initially. Also, remember to bring cash, as the payment options are limited to cash-only transactions.
My Hiep Bakery provides a valued, authentic cultural experience in Westminster, acting as a crucial supplier for traditional Vietnamese baked goods and provisions in the Orange County area.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Be careful when you buy moon cake from the shop . I bought a lot of that as a gift to my family . They sold me some of them have white and green mold on that . I’m too far to return.I spent almost $300 for those cakes so disappointed
November 06 · HIEN DUONGSpent $45 for just three small cakes. The flavor is tooooooo sweet. The aroma is overly strong. I wish I had a better experience and that I would have read the reviews here first. Would’ve saved me time and money better spent elsewhere.
July 03 · Angela TrinhThe cake (baked ones )were dried and way too sweet. When we cut the moon cake , the skin parts were falling off, see pictures. The white banh deo were way too wet and way too sweet. It’s at least $10 per one piece single small cake which is double prices compared to other places. I ordered 20 of them , spent $200 for these ? The last time I ordered from this bakery. Too expensive and they don’t taste good
August 18 · MJ NgMy Hiep Bakery is known to be Orange County's #1 Mooncake Bakery. I was gifted some of these wonderful treats for the Lunar New Year. I don't know too much of the history but am thankful for friends who extend this tradition so that we can experience and celebrate with them. The one I tried was a Mung Bean with 1 Egg (#11 mooncake). It was really good!
January 23 · Wendy LBought bánh khoai mì here and it was stale. It appears to have declined in the past few years.Last year, we spent $500 on bánh tét near the Lunar New Year. Gave them to friends and shipped to other states. It turned out the bánh tét was not fully cooked. So bad. We lost face for sending bad stuffs from the heart of Little Saigon. This year, we make our own. No more My Hiep.
