★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1The chef being a James Beard award winner brought us here while visiting Portland. We ordered two of our favoritebreakfast items - an egg sandwich & a cinnamon roll. Both were phenomenal and probably some of the best food we ate while in town. Do not miss this place! Please follow my sandwich Instagram @thesandwichmaven
November 05 · monica jacobsI really really wanted to like Norimoto, but it was unfortunately just extremely disappointing. We arrived at 7:40 on a Saturday morning and were first in line, but several other parties had lined up by the time it opened at 8. The smells coming out of the bakery were divine and we were really looking forward to warm pastries out of the oven, but unfortunately everything was cold. The kouign amann was fine flavor-wise but really not that flaky. The other pastries were fine but really nothing special. The shokaccia was interesting in concept and extremely briny from the kombu puree, but ultimately not something I would go back for. Overall, Portland has very strong bakery options and Norimoto is fine, but definitely not worth lining up for early in the morning. The workers were extremely friendly though and super sweet.
September 05 · Eric DingAfter Atsuko Fujimoto won a James Beard award for outstanding baker, I put this at the top my list for places to visit while we were in town for vacation. We arrived around 10am on Saturday morning and easily found street parking. After getting in line, I popped in next door at Rwanda Bean and got a couple of coffees for myself and my husband while we waited. The line moved quickly and once you get towards the front you can see a list of the days offerings. Once inside there is a case with a sample of each item so you can see what they look like which was incredibly helpful. Nothing appeared to be sold out and there were loads of both sweet and savory options. We ordered the cinnamon roll, blueberry buckle cake, anzac vegan cookie, quiche, kouign amann, jalapeno sausage roll and a bag of the granola. Nothing that we purchased wasn't great. This bakery is absolutely worth the hype. A few notes, the bakery is take away only and there is nowhere to sit down inside and the line is all outdoors so if there is inclement weather do come prepared.
July 11 · Maggie JThese pastries are pure genius. I bring them to family gatherings when I have a chance and am always greeted with a hero's welcome. Seriously, this place is world class and I highly suggest you check it out!
July 13 · Derek WallaceI always have to come here every time I'm in Portland. The things they make here are so imaginative and unique. I've never seen a shokopan focaccia anywhere. I feel like they achieve such a strong and unique fusion here. Also the person who runs the counter here is so lovely and sweet. I love everything here and so will you
