Not As Famous Cookie Company Introduce
When the craving for something truly sweet and satisfying hits in the Smyrna and greater Atlanta area, local dessert lovers know exactly where to turn: the Not As Famous Cookie Company. Far from being "not as famous," this beloved local gem has built a strong reputation across Georgia for its exceptional gourmet cookies, decadent ice cream creations, and commitment to quality. The establishment is more than just a cookie shop; it's a full-service dessert destination, bakery, and ice cream parlor all rolled into one, proudly operating as a Black-owned small business serving up smiles and unforgettable treats daily.
Rooted in family tradition, the business grew from a successful food truck operation, bringing warm, handcrafted cookies to the Atlanta scene since 2015. They adhere to a philosophy of using only the finest ingredients—real butter, premium chocolates, and select nuts—to create cookies that are often described as large, dense, and perfectly balanced, aiming for crispy edges and a soft, gooey center. The combination of classic nostalgia and innovative flavor profiles has cemented its status as a must-visit spot for anyone in the Georgia region looking for a high-quality dessert experience.
The appeal extends beyond just the cookies themselves. The shop has ingeniously merged the worlds of fresh-baked goods and ice cream, leading to unique and highly popular menu items that draw crowds. From build-your-own ice cream sandwiches to specialty deep-dish cookie skillets, the Not As Famous Cookie Company has mastered the art of the perfect sweet pairing, offering a dessert experience that appeals to all ages and preferences.
For those who appreciate supporting local, minority-owned businesses, a visit to this Smyrna location offers a chance to experience the passion and dedication of a local entrepreneur carrying on a family legacy. The owner, Ashley Carlton, has shared that the initial and enduring favorite is the Chocolate Chip Cookie—an 'OG flavor' known for its sweet profile with a touch of sea salt. With a rotating menu of nine unique cookie flavors each month—three staple favorites and six that change—there is always something new and exciting to try on every visit, ensuring locals keep coming back for more.

What is Worth Choosing
For a first-time visitor or a long-time fan, the menu at Not As Famous Cookie Company offers several standout items worth exploring. The "ice cream shop" aspect of the business, seamlessly integrated with the cookies, provides the best value and experience.
First and foremost, the Deep Dish Cookies are widely considered one of the best choices and are frequently listed as a most-liked item. Served warm in a skillet, the cookie's gooey texture is perfectly complemented by the melting ice cream and gourmet toppings. It's the ultimate combination of the bakery and ice cream shop experience.
If you prefer a portable treat, the Ice Cream Cookie Sandwich is another top-ordered item, allowing you to pair any two of the rotating cookies with your favorite ice cream flavor. This is an ideal way to sample the cookie of the month while cooling down with a premium scoop.
The Cookie Shake is an incredibly indulgent choice, especially for those who love blended desserts. With a cookie mixed into the handcrafted shake, it offers a thick, rich, and unforgettable experience—the kind of shake that requires a spoon and a straw.
For those focusing strictly on cookies, definitely try the Chocolate Chip Cookie, the original flavor that started it all, often described as having a perfect sweet-and-salty balance thanks to a hint of sea salt. Also, keep an eye out for the monthly rotation. If you happen to visit in August, you could be treated to unique flavors like Butterfinger, Coffee Cookie, or Banana Pudding. The variety box is a great option for those who want to sample a range of the day's fresh-baked offerings.
Finally, for home bakers, grabbing some Take and Bake Cookie Dough is a wonderful way to bring the famous cookies into your own kitchen, ensuring you get that fresh-from-the-oven aroma and warmth at your convenience. ★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I drove 45 minutes from Duluth to try this place because I'm a cookie fanatic! Firstly, Jermaine at the counter was really awesome👏. He immediately greeted me when I walked in and helped me out. He also gave me an instruction card for the best way to heat the cookies. Now for the unfortunate news. These cookies look amazing and they taste pretty good too, but I have to admit I'm disappointed with the texture. They're hard as a rock! I immediately took a bite in my car because I was too excited to wait till I got home, but they were so hard and dry that I almost wanted to spit them out😭 I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt, so I got home and preheated my oven to 350F just like the card said and baked them for 5 minutes. I was really hoping that this would bring the cookies back to life and soften them up a little since I love a lil gooey chew in the center of my cookies, but the first bite was still just as hard even in the center.I reallyyy tried liking these cookies because I drove all the way to buy them, and I especially want to support small businesses, but I just couldn't get over how hard and dry they were. All in all, I still appreciate the great service, and I really do want to believe they will improve! They really got sumthin special going on with the flavors, so I truly want to see them perfect the texture! I may return in the future just because I like a good comeback story❤️
April 20 · Noelani ManamiIce cream and cookies were delicious. There was no wait and the staff was friendly. Everything we wanted was in stock. Keep up the good work.
May 24 · James ZornOmg! Everything was wonderful deep dish cookie was the best!!!! It was so good I ate the ice cream before I could put it on the cookie!! The ice cream sandwich 😋
August 16 · L & J JonesI look forward to their cookie lineups each month (for the past 7 months now ) , and they’re always pretty good ! I’m in love with their red velvet cookie. Unfortunately for the past 2 months now, whenever I’ve ordered their choose 3 cookies, they get really stale the next day and they’re really hard to bite on.I’m not sure if they’re leaving it in the warmer for too long, & maybe that’s why they get like that? Maybe I’ve came on some off days, but i still think this place is worth giving a try !
January 15 · YeniLove this place! My favorite cookie spot in metro Atlanta. Their main shop is located in a shopping plaza in Symrna. Staff is always very friendly, and they give great recommendations. I made the drive today to come get them, and once again I was not disappointed. My absolute favorite is the red velvet. Soft and moist on the inside like a cake, and crunchy on the outside. The new seasonal Ube Cookies and cream was really good- like your classic cookies and cream with a more nutty undertone from the ube. Now the last one I tried was the cookie butter. Wow. That cookie was amazing, it was like a warm holiday party in your mouth. If you’re ever around the area, definitely check them out!
