★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I tried Old Ferry Donut in San Gabriel and was really impressed. This is a Korean-style donut shop with a clean, modern vibe and very friendly service. I ordered online, and when I got there, everything was packed and ready to go. Super smooth experience.I got five flavors: butter pistachio, peanut butter, hazelnut chocolate, coffee cream, and lemon poppy seed. My favorites were the peanut butter and butter pistachio. Both had great texture and flavor. The others were good too, but those two stood out.Parking can be a little challenging in front, but they do have additional parking in the back, which helps a lot.If you’re into donuts that are a little more unique and elevated, this place is definitely worth a visit.
July 28 · Jimmy SuWell it's not as good as many influencers make it out to be. It wasn't my favorite. The donuts had interesting flavors and cream inside but I wouldn't go back. Nothing was memorable. The flavors were OK it was just OK.
September 21 · Marie MoreauI had heard some buzz about Old Ferry Donut, but honestly, I didn't pay much attention—after all, there are countless donut shops out there, most of them similar and overpriced. But then we walked by the shop, and wow, what a charming place! The decor, the vibe, the colors—we just had to check it out. I figured, hey, why not treat myself to one donut, right? Well, I'm so glad I did because their donuts hit all the right spots. Not overly sweet, with fantastic flavors and a wonderfully fluffy texture, these donuts aren’t too heavy but are just enough to satisfy any sweet tooth. Sure, they’re on the pricier side, but they’re absolutely worth it. We tried the butter pistachio, which was recommended by the store manager, and it's a must-order, period. We also had the tiramisu donut, which featured a delightful mix of chocolate coating and perfect texture.I can’t wait to go back for another one (or two). Pro tip: their online prices are the same as in-store, so you can easily order ahead and pick up. Happy donut hunting!
November 11 · Andy ChengI stopped by and glad I did! I got milk cream donut and cream was perfect, not too sweat and texture of the dough was excellent! Soft and creamy, the great combo!
April 28 · Eddie OuchiReview is for food items only, not restaurant.I've been tempted by the colorful and delicious looking donuts for awhile. Since this location is local, it is a must to drop by and buy some of their snackies.4 items: heat up the donuts for 5-10 seconds to get the best taste.1. PB and Jam donut - I think the jam is the same one they use for the raspberry ball.Great flavor and worth it to try once. The only thing that I didn't like was the raspberry topping on the donut. It breaks the smoothness of the donut bite with something chunky.Better to share and try once with a friend for half a donut. It's tasty and memorable, but not a repeatable buy unless to share with a friend.2. Creme brulee - not really a donut but more a cream puff. Standard custard filling. Worth it try once, but wouldn't buy again. Nothing special.3. Taramisu - nothing special and very forgettable donut. Will not buy again4. Raspberry ball - the best of the bunch. It oozes a nice raspberry jam that has to be made with real raspberry. You can taste the little seeds. Should be eaten warm. Repeatable buy.
