Paielli's Bakery Introduce
Introduction / Overview
For residents of Southeastern Wisconsin, Paielli's Bakery is more than just a place to buy bread or donuts—it is a cherished Kenosha institution that has been perfecting its craft for over a century. Established in 1923 by Sante and Matilda Paielli, this family-owned operation has stood the rigorous test of time, proudly celebrating 100 years of serving the local community. The bakery has grown from a small shop into a massive 20,000 square foot facility, yet it still maintains the friendly, old-school charm that patrons love.
Paielli's is a truly comprehensive bakery, specializing in several distinct product lines. They are widely celebrated for their authentic Italian breads, which have become a staple in local kitchens and deli shops. Simultaneously, the bakery is famous for its incredible range of sweets, including the unique and iconic "Cyclops" donut, which has been the best-selling item for decades. Furthermore, Paielli’s has significant production capabilities, operating as a key wholesale supplier to restaurants, hospitals, grocers, and special events across Wisconsin and even into Northeastern Illinois.
With an expansive selection of everyday treats, custom cakes for every milestone, and specialized Italian cookies, Paielli's Bakery continues its legacy by blending time-honored baking techniques with modern production to meet the "kneads" of the community.

Features / Highlights
Paielli's Bakery stands out in the competitive Wisconsin bakery landscape due to several unique and long-standing highlights:
- The Iconic "Cyclops" Donut: This is the bakery's signature, best-selling confection for generations. It is a chocolate-glazed donut with a dollop of white buttercream filling the center where the hole would typically be, offering a delightful combination of classic donut and creamy sweetness. It has earned Paielli's the title of home of "Wisconsin's best donuts" by Travelocity.
- Authentic Italian Heritage: The bakery's roots are in high-quality Italian baking, evident in their hearty Italian breads, famous hard crust rolls, and traditional Italian cookies like the Genetti, which are a must-have at many local Italian gatherings and wedding trays.
- Massive Production with Local Quality: Operating out of a huge facility, Paielli's boasts the capability to produce thousands of loaves of bread daily, yet they maintain the exceptional quality and flavor of a small, family-owned establishment, using original, older ovens for the in-store sweets.
- Full-Range Dessert Provider: Beyond the daily donuts, Paielli's functions as a complete sweet-goods provider, excelling in everything from wedding cakes to cannolis, mini dessert trays (e.g., Petit Fours, Lemon Bars), and the beloved Kringle.
- Exceptional Value: Despite the high quality and storied history, the prices remain reasonable, with popular items like the Cyclops donut often priced affordably, making it an accessible indulgence for every budget.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1This bakery has been around since 1923, and it’s easy to see why it’s stood the test of time. I ordered two donuts: the original glazed and their signature Cyclops—a chocolate-glazed donut with a dollop of white buttercream nestled in the center where the hole would be. Both were just $1.25 each and absolutely hit the spot. The bakery also offers kringles, eclairs, donut twists, loaves of bread, cakes, and a small selection of drinks. It shares a parking lot with a strip center, so there’s plenty of parking available. The staff were friendly and helpful, patiently answering all my questions about their donut offerings since it was my first time visiting. Overall, a charming, old-school bakery that’s worth a stop for anyone with a sweet tooth.
July 24 · Justin McBreartyNormally we get our birthday cakes here and that part is normally fine and great. However, when you’re getting baked goods and you were first to ask and get them, they instead gave it to folks behind us in line. Disappointed because the worker was aware of what we asked and even pulled the tray out to do so. Then proceeded to get our next set of bake goods before turning around and losing track of first two bake goods that we asked for. For the other coworker to have passed said order to people behind us in line. Which means we didn’t even get what we asked first it was passed off to people behind us. The employee was just confused even more. So no clue if their first day on job or whatever but that blows. It should had been us getting those but we didn’t. I’ll just stick to ordering birthday cakes then and not recommend anything else for now. Yes, they weren’t even busy when this went down it was legit us and maybe two other small parties. With three employee about.
August 20 · Kit The TravelerTruly went above and beyond my expectations.I went to Paielli's to order simple sugar cookies with icing and sprinkles for a special work event. I didn't even realize speaking to the cookie decorator was an option, but I'm so glad for the staff's dedication and friendliness. Whoever decorated these did a STELLAR job and everyone was pleased. Plus, the cookies were delicious and affordable. Thank you!
March 03 · Emily MentzelThis was my first time stopping here to grab a variety of items. Cookies, donuts and bread are all good. There are plenty more to choose from. Worth the stop to check out this iconic bakery. The people working the counter were very nice and helpful. You won't be disappointed with whatever you choose!
October 07 · David SparksThis may be new favorite donut but the only problem is I'm 7 hours away. We found it driving around on vacation. We stayed in winthrop harbor and drove up 3 times during the week for these delicious donuts. The staff was friendly and the atmosphere was good. If your in the area I suggest you try them.
