PopUp Bagels Introduce
Bagels are an undeniable cornerstone of New York City’s culinary identity, a beloved staple that fuels millions of mornings and afternoons. In a city with an abundance of choices, it takes a truly special experience to stand out. Enter PopUp Bagels, a name that has quickly become synonymous with a unique and celebrated approach to the classic bagel. What started as a local backyard pop-up has grown into a sensation, celebrated for its commitment to freshness, innovative spreads, and a straightforward, no-frills philosophy. This article will guide you through everything you need to know about this increasingly popular bagel shop, from its distinct offerings to its convenient location in the heart of Manhattan.
The core of PopUp Bagels’ appeal lies in a simple yet profound promise: serving bagels that are always warm and fresh from the oven. Unlike many traditional shops that bake in the morning, PopUp Bagels bakes its bagels continuously throughout the day, ensuring that every customer gets a product that is at its peak. This dedication to freshness creates a bagel with a perfectly crispy crust and a delightfully soft, doughy interior, a combination that has garnered a loyal following. The shop's ethos is all about perfecting the bagel itself, offering a focused menu that highlights quality over quantity and provides an experience that is both authentic and modern.
This place is more than just a place to grab a quick bite; it's a destination for bagel aficionados and newcomers alike who want to taste something different. The shop’s friendly and efficient staff contribute to a welcoming atmosphere, making the experience enjoyable even during busy times. With a model designed for quick service and high-quality products, PopUp Bagels has successfully carved out its own niche in New York's competitive bagel scene, proving that sometimes, the simplest ideas are the most revolutionary.
Location and Accessibility
Situated in a prime Manhattan spot, PopUp Bagels is highly accessible for both local New Yorkers and visitors. The shop is located at 370 7th Ave, New York, NY 10001, USA, placing it directly in the bustling Penn Plaza neighborhood. This central location makes it an ideal stop for commuters, office workers, and anyone passing through one of the city's major transit hubs.
The proximity to Penn Station and multiple subway lines ensures that reaching the shop is convenient from almost any part of the city. Whether you're coming from the east or west side, or even from out of state, the location is incredibly easy to get to. The foot traffic in the area is high, and the shop's setup is designed to handle a steady flow of customers, making it a reliable spot for a quick and satisfying meal. The area is also well-served by buses and taxis, offering plenty of options for travel.
Parking in this part of Manhattan can be challenging, as is the case throughout the city. Services Offered
PopUp Bagels operates with a unique and streamlined service model that sets it apart from other bagel shops. Their approach focuses on providing freshly baked bagels and delicious spreads, which they sell in specific quantities. This model is designed for efficiency and to ensure that every customer enjoys a top-tier product.
- Bagel Packs: The main offering is bagels sold in packs, not individually. You can purchase a 3-pack, a half-dozen, or a full dozen. This is a key part of their business model, encouraging customers to share or stock up on their fresh bagels.
- Creative Schmears: PopUp Bagels is particularly famous for its cream cheese and schmear offerings. They provide a selection of both classic and innovative spreads. The menu includes staples like Plain and Scallion cream cheese, as well as a rotating specialty schmear that changes weekly, keeping the menu fresh and exciting for regulars.
- On-the-Go Experience: The shop doesn't offer a traditional dine-in experience. Instead, they provide the perfect grab-and-go meal. Customers receive their warm bagels and a tub of their chosen schmear, allowing them to assemble their bagel sandwiches at their leisure, whether at a nearby park, at their office, or at home.
- Pre-ordering and Delivery: To avoid potential lines and ensure you get your preferred items, PopUp Bagels offers a pre-ordering service online. This allows you to schedule a pickup time. Additionally, they have partnered with delivery services like Uber Eats and DoorDash, making it easy to get their bagels delivered directly to your door.
- Catering: For larger groups or events, PopUp Bagels also offers catering services. Their catering menu features various bagel boxes that can serve up to 30 people, along with a la carte options for schmears and smoked fish. This is a great option for office breakfasts or weekend brunches.
Features / Highlights
PopUp Bagels has built a strong reputation based on several key features that make it a standout choice for bagel lovers. These highlights contribute to the overall experience and are often cited by customers as the reason they keep coming back.

- Exceptional Schmear Selection: While their bagels are a hit, the cream cheese is often the star of the show. Customers rave about the fresh, high-quality schmears, especially the limited-edition weekly flavors. Past offerings have included French Toast, Brown Butter, and even collaborations with other brands.
- Social Media Buzz: PopUp Bagels has become a viral sensation, with countless posts and reviews from influencers and food enthusiasts highlighting their unique approach and delicious products. The simple, photogenic nature of a warm bagel bag with a branded schmear tub is a major part of its appeal.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1It was better than I expected! Pretty good overall. The dough was super chewy, and I’d definitely come here often whenever I’m craving bagels. The cream cheese was amazing (we tried the limited edition French toast flavor), which was just the right amount of sweet and so good. We got sesame, salt, and everything bagels and tbh all the flavors were solid. Hard to pick a favorite! Wish they sold individual bagels tho. They only sell in packs so the minimum I need to get was three
July 10 · Doah KwonThe bagels were tasty and the cream cheese was delicious! The only draw back is that you have to get a minimum of 3 bagels. If they sold them individually I think it would be more appealing. Overall great experience and friendly staff!
July 22 · Nicole WhiteMy absolute favorite bagels in NYC! Chewy exterior, soft center, and hot! Went twice on a recent trip to NYC. Love the rotating specialty cream cheeses. Can't wait to go back! Be advised bagels come in sets of three (there are five flavors, plain, salt, poppy seed, sesame, everything) with a container of cream cheese. No sandwiches, no single bagels. These are rip and dip bagels. Minimal indoor tables, but who wants to sit around in New York City anyway?
May 07 · ChristineWent around 11AM on a Monday morning to avoid the rushes. No wait. Perfect! Can’t get individual bagel. Must get 3 bagels and a schmear, at minimum. Family friendly but not individual friendly, lol.The bagel is chewy and slightly crispy on the outside while soft inside. Dip in the butter smear, heaven!Only 2 small tables at the place. I also see people just eat outside of the shop against the wall. Most just do to-go orders.
July 21 · teadrinkerReview of a tourist: amazing bagels. The spread is okay but the bagels are AMAZING. Come here for sure. They don't have AC or seating inside though and we came in the heat of summer.
