Pressers Kosher Bagels and Bakery Introduce
For generations of Brooklynites, the quest for a great bagel is more than a simple morning routine; it's a cherished tradition. Nestled in the heart of the Midwood neighborhood, Pressers Kosher Bagels and Bakery has been a part of this tradition for many years. This local institution, founded in 1980, is more than just a place to get a bagel; it's a community hub where tradition meets taste. As a kosher bakery and bagel shop, Pressers caters to the dietary needs of its community while offering a delicious array of fresh baked goods that have earned it a loyal following. It's the kind of place that has been a staple for families for decades, providing the fresh bread for Shabbat dinners and the bagels for Sunday brunches.
Pressers has built a reputation on its commitment to quality and freshness. The bagels are hand-rolled and baked fresh daily, offering that authentic New York bagel experience that is so highly sought after. Beyond the bagels, the bakery side of the business provides an impressive selection of homemade bread, cookies, and other pastries. The danishes, in particular, are a highlight for many customers, showcasing the bakery's skill and dedication to traditional baking. The store's interior is noted for being clean, spacious, and filled with natural sunlight, creating a bright and welcoming environment that is easy to spot from the street. This combination of a well-maintained store and delicious food makes it a reliable and pleasant destination for a quick bite or a more leisurely meal.
The menu at Pressers goes far beyond just bagels with cream cheese. It offers a wide variety of ingredients for custom-made sandwiches, including popular and tasty combinations like the Tuna Celery with jalapeño peppers that one customer raved about. This focus on providing a broad selection of quality ingredients allows patrons to create their perfect breakfast or lunch, catering to both traditional tastes and more adventurous palates. The bakery's offerings also include a selection of fresh-brewed coffee and other beverages, making it a complete stop for a morning boost. The blend of a full bagel shop and a traditional bakery under one roof provides a unique and convenient experience that sets it apart from many other food establishments in the area.
However, like any long-standing business, Pressers has also faced its share of criticism. Some customers have expressed frustration over what they perceive as "penny-pinching" practices, such as extra charges for cups, bags, and cream cheese. These concerns, while contrasting with the positive reviews about the food quality and selection, highlight the delicate balance businesses must strike between maintaining their heritage and adapting to modern economic realities. This article will provide a balanced look at Pressers, delving into its location, services, and the various features that make it a beloved, if sometimes debated, part of the Brooklyn community. It's a place with a rich history and a strong connection to its local patrons.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Bagels are pretty good. My favorite is Tuna Celery with jalapeños peppers. Very tasty and they have good selection of ingredients for you to choose from. Also Cinnamon Raisin bagel toasted, with cream cheese or little bit peanut butter and jelly, ohh you good to go in the morning with some fresh brewed coffee ☕️. They have a lot of delicious danishes, if you go to the left you can get some really tasty homemade bread and cookies. Also very clean store, which is great, it has a lot of sunlight so it’s easy to notice. Overall highly recommend for your breakfast/lunch spot.
April 29 · Zarina AldThe only good thing about this place is that it looks nice, I asked for well done and the hash-browns are barely even cooked. You have to pay extra for everything, cup EXTRA, cream cheese EXTRA, bag EXTRA.Can’t believe this place it used to be a staple in Brooklyn and now they are penny pinching on every little thing they can.And it was roughly $25 for what’s in my pictures.
September 08 · David shamoshCute place, lots of options. My bagel had the essence of cream cheese. The employees were wearing EarPods and screaming at customers bc obviously they couldn’t hear.
October 30 · MayraEverytime I come here we vibeing and eating good. Best bagels on Ave M
February 28 · David GilbertOne of the workers at the bagel shop always has a terrible attitude. He is very condescending and was complaining I took too many napkins and wanted to charge me an extra $1. He is losing you business, because many people are going to competing stores for their breakfast. Today is Tuesday, July 23, 9 am. Please let him know that his customer service and attitude are unacceptable and if he doesn’t fix it, maybe he should get another job…
