Randy's Donuts Introduce
Welcome to the sweet side of Southern California! When you think of an iconic Los Angeles food spot, many instantly picture the giant, towering donut sign of Randy's Donuts. This is more than just a place to grab a morning treat; it’s a genuine piece of Southern California’s cultural history, world-famous since 1952. Locals and travelers alike flock to this shop for classic recipes made fresh daily, alongside an array of creative, premium selections. Whether you're a lifelong Angeleno or just passing through the Golden State, Randy's Donuts represents a beloved, high-quality, and accessible indulgence. From the perfectly simple Glazed Raised to the adventurous Bacon Maple Long John, Randy’s has cemented its status as a must-visit destination for anyone with a sweet tooth.
The appeal of Randy’s lies in its commitment to the traditional donut shop experience, elevated by an impressive variety that caters to all tastes. They have mastered the "classic" donut, offering that melt-in-your-mouth texture that so many other shops attempt to replicate. Beyond the famed original location, the brand has expanded across California, bringing its renowned quality and iconic orange box to more communities and, perhaps most conveniently for travelers, to Los Angeles International Airport (LAX). This growth ensures that getting a fresh Randy’s donut is easier than ever, solidifying its place as a regional favorite.
While Randy’s Donuts has expanded to several locations throughout Southern California and beyond, its original and most recognizable landmark shop is in the Inglewood area, strategically located near major transit points. This location, known for its colossal rooftop donut sign, is a cinematic icon, having been featured in countless movies, television shows, and advertisements, making a stop here an experience in itself.
The world-famous original shop's address is 805 W Manchester Blvd, Inglewood, CA 90301, and is easily accessible right off the 405 freeway. However, for those on the go or just arriving in the Golden State, the presence of a Randy’s Donuts inside Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) is a major convenience. Specifically, a location is situated in the United Airlines Terminal (Terminal 7) at 700 World Way, Los Angeles, CA 90045.
The classic Inglewood location is known for being open 24 hours a day, a major perk for late-night cravings or very early morning commuters, and offers both drive-thru and walk-up windows. The LAX location in Terminal 7 operates with slightly different hours to accommodate flight schedules, typically from 5:00 am to 12:30 pm daily. Travelers appreciate the ability to snag a fresh, local treat without leaving the airport, with hundreds of fresh donuts delivered daily. This commitment to accessibility ensures that whether you're taking a road trip or catching a flight, a Randy's donut is always within reach.
Randy's Donuts offers a comprehensive menu that goes far beyond simple donuts, catering to nearly every craving for sweets and beverages. Their offerings are categorized to make selection easy, from the simple classics to their most decadent creations.
- Donut Varieties: A vast selection categorized into Classic, Deluxe, Fancy, and Premium. The Classic selection features staples like Glazed Raised, Chocolate Raised, and Plain Cake. Deluxe options include Buttermilk, Glazed Twist, and various Old Fashioned donuts. Fancy selections escalate to filled and larger formats like the Apple Fritter, Cinnamon Roll, Bear Claw, and Crondys (a donut/croissant hybrid), as well as filled items like Raspberry Jelly Filled. Premium donuts are the most elaborate and include specialties such as Bacon Maple Long John, Nutella Raised, S’mores, Red Velvet Cake, and the massive Texas Glazed donut.
- Dozen and Mix Boxes: For groups or for stocking up, donuts can be purchased individually or in discounted dozens, including pre-selected mixed dozens (Mix 1-4) combining Classic, Deluxe, Fancy, and Premium options.
- Specialty Coffee & Beverages: Randy’s offers a full coffee bar experience featuring their house roast and espresso-based drinks. Specialty lattes, like the popular Butter Crumb Latte and Sea Salt Caramel Latte, are available hot or iced. Other options include Mocha, Americano, Hot Chocolate, Cold Brew, and Iced Coffee.
- Frozen & Iced Refreshers: The menu includes frozen and iced beverages like the Sea Salt Caramel Frappe, along with a selection of refreshing Lemonades (classic, Mango, Strawberry, Raspberry, Watermelon, Pina Colada, and Orange Creamsicle), and even Milkshakes (Chocolate, Vanilla, Strawberry, Cookies and Cream, and Dulce De Leche).
- Other Pastries & Breakfast: For a savory start to the day, options include plain croissants, and Ham & Cheese Croissants. Some locations also offer a variety of breakfast sandwiches served on a croissant or English muffin, and breakfast burritos.
- Donut Holes (Rounds): Available as Glazed, Iced, or Topped, these bite-sized treats are perfect for a quick snack or a fun variety box.
- Custom Orders: Large or special orders, such as their Glazed Giant Cake Donuts, are typically available by pre-order.
Randy’s Donuts is distinguished by several key features and highlights that make it a favorite institution in Southern California and beyond.
- The Iconic Rooftop Donut Sign: The massive, 32-foot-diameter donut sign atop the original Inglewood location is an undeniable cultural landmark. Its frequent appearances in film and television (including being famously featured in the movie 'Iron Man 2') have given it world-wide recognition, making it a popular spot for photos and a symbol of Los Angeles.
- 24-Hour Operation: The original Inglewood location remains open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, a crucial convenience that appeals to all schedules, from early risers to those with late-night sweet cravings.
- Freshness and Quality of Classics: Customers consistently praise the quality of the classic donuts, particularly the Glazed Raised, for its fluffy texture and perfect glaze. Many reviews hail the "Classic" selections as superior to those found at typical chain stores, noting the spongy texture and high-quality flavor.
- Innovative Premium and Fancy Flavors: While rooted in classics, the menu excels with its Fancy and Premium tiers, offering unique and on-trend flavors. Donuts like the Bacon Maple Long John, S'mores, Nutella Raised, and the Maple Raised with Churros keep the menu exciting and draw in modern foodies.
- Strategic Airport Presence: The location inside LAX Terminal 7 is a major highlight, especially for those traveling on United flights. It allows visitors a final taste of an LA landmark before they depart, or a first taste upon arrival. The in-airport location, despite its size, maintains the high standard of freshness, with fresh donuts delivered every morning, ensuring travelers get a quality product even with limited counter space.
- Full Beverage Menu: The coffee program is more robust than a typical donut shop, offering full espresso drinks, specialty lattes (like the Butter Crumb Latte), and a range of iced beverages and milkshakes, allowing customers to pair their perfect donut with a perfectly customized drink.
For your reference, here is the official address and contact information for the iconic original Randy's Donuts location in the Los Angeles area:
Address: 6100 94th Street, Los Angeles, CA 90045, USA
Note: The official landmark address is also commonly cited as 805 W Manchester Blvd, Inglewood, CA 90301, due to its physical prominence at the corner of Manchester and La Cienega. The two addresses often refer to the same building location near LAX. The listed phone number for the Inglewood area is commonly cited as 310-645-4707, which is a useful contact for general inquiries.
For first-timers and seasoned fans navigating the extensive menu, knowing the highlights can make for a perfect order. Randy's is truly a tale of two menus: its peerless classics and its show-stopping, modern creations.
When making a choice, we highly recommend starting with the basics that made them famous. The Glazed Raised is repeatedly called out by customers as the best glazed donut in the continental United States, celebrated for its perfect fluffiness and signature flavor. If you prefer a richer experience, the Chocolate Dipped Old Fashioned is another favorite, praised for its larger size, satisfying crisp exterior, and rich, non-waxy chocolate ganache. Reviewers note that their classics are a "revelation," particularly the chocolate frosted versions which taste authentically rich and flavorful.
Beyond the classics, the Apple Fritter is an essential choice. While one airport customer noted a bit of sponginess, a vast number of other reviews highlight the Fritter for its incredible crunch, generous size, moist interior, and the perfect cinnamon-apple balance that resembles a sugary apple pie. It’s an undeniable signature item.
For a decadent treat, look to the Premium selection. The Bacon Maple Long John is a popular choice for those seeking a savory-sweet combination, while the Nutella Raised donut offers a rich, contemporary topping paired with a classic raised donut base. Also, the various cream-filled Long Johns and the Butter Crumb Raised are often favorites, the latter providing a comforting, buttery crumble texture that is unique to Randy's.
Finally, don't overlook the pairings. The specialty coffee menu, with favorites like the Butter Crumb Latte or a strong Cold Brew, is the perfect accompaniment to the sweet treats, ensuring that your stop at this iconic Southern California establishment is a truly memorable—and delicious—experience. The consensus remains: Randy's delivers on its reputation for quality, classic donuts that stand up to the hype, making it an essential food landmark in the Golden State.

Randy's Donuts Reviews
I never wouldn't expected the donuts in an airport to taste so fresh but DAMN. This is on par with other Randy's. I'm impressed. Cold brew was okay.
September 18 · Kelsey FisherI’ve always wanted to try Randy’s Donuts passed by the iconic location on the way to the airport and figured I missed my chance. To my surprise, there was a Randy’s right near my gate at LAX Terminal 7. The line was long, but moved impressively fast, which was a good sign. While waiting, I kept eyeing the apple fritter it looked massive and promising. I paired it with a coffee, which turned out to be a pleasant surprise smooth, rich, and genuinely good for airport standards. The fritter, though? Huge, yes. Flavorful, not so much. It was spongy and lacked the depth I was hoping for. A bit of a letdown, especially given the hype. That said, I won’t let one donut define the whole experience. The rest of the selection looked great, and I’d definitely come back to try something different next time.If you’re passing through and curious, it’s worth a stop but maybe skip the fritter and go for one of the classics.
September 05 · Adon GaitanIf you NEED a donut, and you happen to be at LAX, terminal 7 has what you want. I arrived exactly at closing, but they were kind enough to serve me. Having been out of the country for two weeks, a great American donut was what I was searching for and their chocolate glazed old fashioned filled that prescription nicely. I will forever be grateful for the kind employee that served me when she could have just said 'we are closed'. I will definitely come back EARLIER and try more!
September 01 · James HilyerI eat a lot of Apple fritters. This random little stall in the airport had the best apple fritter i have ever eaten. I have no idea how, but it was fresh, the apples were warm and plentiful, i honestly don’t understand how they managed it. Also, bonus points for being the single cheapest food in the entire terminal. This thing was 3.50, stale muffins from the coffee places are 5 dollars. I would stand in line for this apple fritter. Maybe i just got lucky, i don’t know, i didn’t try anything else. Get the apple fritter. Also they do take cash, someone said they didn’t.
